My family and I have just returned from a weeks stay at Sandown Cottage.
My overall view of the cottage is that it is very hard for me and for that matter the rest of my family to find a single negative thing to say about it. It's very clean throughout with good quality kitchen equipment, bedding, towels and interior furnishings. Its warm and cosy and has a lot of character. The upstairs bathroom has a lovely deep bathtub where you can soak in after a long day walking along the stunning coast. The garden is nice and private with a sun deck where you can sit and enjoy coffee.
Now for the outside: My kids decided, not long after we arrived, to take a walk to the coast. They came back later quite amazed and my 19 year old daughter said it was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. Apparently it had been a bit of a walk but according to them well worth it. That week we went to many stunning places but that view from the coast closest to the cottage remained her favourite!
There are many great locations not far from the cottage, we managed to visit Port Isaac, Boscastle. Polzeath, Tintagel and Padstow.
In Port Isaac we managed to see Doc Martin and Louisa in person which was quite funny after having watched the television series.
In Polzeath we were amazed at the amazing beach there and we had a truly unforgettable hike along the coast side. Amazing beauty and views, perfect contrast to busy London life.
We also visited Lands end which was about 1 1/2 hours drive and while we we down there a beautiful garden; Trengwainton it was called if I remember correctly.
Overall we sll had a great week. The cottage was, well for us, perfect and people were friendly and smiling.
