This was our fourth (maybe fifth!) stay at Surfscape, and we will definitely be back again, hopefully soon . The house sits right above the ocean, where the powerful waves crash against the rocks and create the most soothing, unforgettable sound. The fresh salty air, the ever-changing ocean views, and the mesmerizing sunsets can be enjoyed from inside the house or out on the deck…just magical. Fun to go down to the tide pools…practically your own private beach. Never disappoints, always gets better with Pierre’s extra touches! The stars at night are not to be missed. With little light from other sources the stars seem to be right on top of the house. Almost 200 degrees of view you can easily see the shooting star once in a while.

The views of the Sonoma coast are surreal - my wife and I stood speechless for 10 minutes after opening the door. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed for a two-night stay.Complimentary wine and a chilled bottle of prosecco were nice touches. The kitchen is well appointed just add food and your good to go.We ended up not going anywhere - everything we wanted in a Sonoma Coast vacation was right in front of us. Spectacular views, semi-private beach and a gracious host that kept us informed and was responsive.This property will be our first option when returning to Bodega Bay.

We loved it. Best place we ever stayed at. We'll book again for sure. This place is so dreamy, peaceful, and neat! The view was spectacular. Sleeping and waking up to the sound of waves crashing was so nice as well. I would have loved to stay there a couple more nights.

The view is incredible from this place. Crashing surf, pelicans,distant whales spouting on the horizon, pelicans flying in formation and spectacular sunsets. It’s a photographer’s dream. The house is comfortable and well appointed for the most part. There were no hangers in the closet which was an inconvenience for a week’s stay for sure. The windows are definitely in need of replacing, the condensation impeded the view some of the time. Bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed and the decor was nice.

Great Birthday Weekend for my Wife

First of all, this place has the best views on the Sonoma Coast. The house was very clean and the owners made us feel welcome with a complimentary bottle of sparkling and fresh flowers on the counter. We had an excellent stay. We will definitely return in the future.

The home was comfortable and the view is gorgeous and as-pictured. No issues with finding or parking at the property and although there were neighbors we rarely saw them and never heard them. Very relaxing stay for sure!

Our second stay and not our last!

Magnificent! This was our second stay here, our first stay for our mini-moon last year. We loved it so much we came back to celebrate our 1st year anniversary and it did not disappoint!! First of all, the view is out of this world, at all times of the day and night. The ocean waves lull you to sleep at night. Everything was in great working order, kitchen was well stocked and equipped with all the essentials to enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal. The hot tub and fire pit over looking the ocean, come on. We felt so lucky and spoiled! A luxury home away from home. The host even left us a lovely bottle of rose prosecco to celebrate. Best sleep, best stay, best relaxing!! We will be back!!

There are very few rentals around this area as on top of the ocean as this one. There is a semi private beach and a small grassy landing with chairs near the sand too.

Exceptional Oceanview

The ocean view and secluded beach were phenomenal. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding, linens, and towels were nice and clean. The house was surface clean, but is in need of maintenance and deep cleaning. A window in the ocean view bedroom and one in the living room are broken and won’t open. The bug zapper in the kitchen was a little disconcerting each time it zapped a bug. The salty ocean air has taken its toll on the house including the chairs and gas fire pit at the house level. The lower level tiered deck has fake grass and the chair cushions need to be cleaned and we’re too wet to sit on due to the moist air. We still had a wonderful time but will probably stay elsewhere in the future unless there are improvements. I expected more for the price point, but again the ocean view didn’t disappoint.

Wonderful location and views. The parking is not so great if you have a low clearance car. If you have a low clearance car, you will scrape entering and leaving the driveway. Otherwise a great place to stay because we did not want to leave!

Lovely view

Can't beat the beautiful view from the living room, outdoor patio, and hot tub. The only niggle was that I hadn't heard from the management company two days prior to check-in despite asking for the information and had to send a panicked request to VRBO. But it worked out. Kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need, prosecco on the counter was a welcome surprise, as was the wine bar. Close to the lovely Kortum trail and lots of beaches and hidden coves. Getting in an out of the parking spaces a bit dicey with oncoming highway 1 traffic so be cautious! A great deal of construction across the highway as they're building a new route for highway one but it wasn't too obtrusive. Definitely a wonderful getaway.

Gone Downhill

We stayed last year at around the same time for my dad's birthday. From that stay, the property has been abused. Damaged bad door frame from water intrusion at the second bedroom. Windows mostly have broken seals obstructing the beautiful views. Damaged flooring and drywall. The exterior furniture at the firepit has holes. The TV in the master did not work, we think a battery issue, but we did not pack batteries. The remote in the living room you had to stand next to the TV to work also a battery issue. The faucet at the kitchen sink was wobbly, and water pressure was an issue. Only had a few forks so I had to hand wash continually from meal to meal. The bedspreads had spots and were worn. A towel rack broke in the master bath, and the drywall was poorly patched. The jacuzzi was full of sand upon our arrival and we were told by the housekeeper it would be cleaned the next day. It wasn't. Just not what we expected after our last stay and for the cost.

Stunning views inside and out.

Loved this property so much. Beautiful views and plenty of opportunities to sit and take it all in. The hot tub overlooking the ocean was my favorite.
