Stayed 3 nights. This place is amazing. Everything you could want in a Bodega Bay get away! We did have perfect weather. Mid-August, no wind, mid 70s. The deck out front was incredible for the view. The bed was comfortable, and the hot tub was the perfect added bonus. I was honestly angry at having to go back home after staying here. It was too good. I will definitely be back!!!

What an amazing time we had at Spare Time Beach House! We sat on the front deck to watch a few of the most epic sunsets, and the shooting stars while sitting in the hot tub were the icing on the cake. The house is well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The fireplace made for a cozy night to relax by. We loved every minute of it!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is lovely and had everything we needed for a week long stay. We didn’t even feel the need to drive anywhere with the ocean right across the street. We loved sitting on the front deck watching the whales. Our dogs loved the backyard. It gave them plenty of room to run and play and we really appreciated how well it was enclosed to keep our fur babies safe. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I and our two dogs stayed at Spare Time for a couple nights to celebrate just getting married. The views were amazing, the house was beautiful, and the backyard was perfect for the dogs. The owner, Cari, was such a pleasure to work with. She really thought of everything that could be needed and more to make guests feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back!

Everything about this place is thoughtful and amazing! Amazing for couple of small family with a dog get away. Even the beach across the street is dog and kids friendly. We are so coming back!

Our Family’s lovely Ocean front adventure..summer of 2025

Beautiful home, clean and well maintained. Felt cozy for the whole family. The views from the livingroom and the kitchen where amazing views. We all enjoyed our small weeknd away for the city light. Loved the sound of the ocean waves late at night when winding down, very relaxing atmosphere. We appreciate the opportunity to stay and I thank you again for allowing the whole family a wonderful weekend on the beach. P.S. We also got to opportunity to head down to the early morning low tide! Thanks for the tip the night before to set the alarms!

Our New Favorite Spot by the Coast

We had a wonderful stay at Spare Time beach house. The location was perfect—right across the street from the ocean with an incredible, unobstructed view of the Pacific. We could hear the waves from inside the house, which made the whole experience feel so peaceful and relaxing.The house itself was spotless and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. It’s updated with modern touches but still feels warm and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked—we cooked two meals and didn’t find ourselves missing anything. And the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking or exploring—nothing beats sitting in it while listening to the ocean.Cari was amazing—very responsive, clear, and helpful throughout the whole process. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and communication was smooth from start to finish.We come to Bodega Bay once or twice a year to escape the heat and soak in the trails, beaches, and great food. This has definitely become one of our favorite vacation rentals, and we’ll absolutely try to stay here again!

A perfect stay

Loved it! The house has the perfect mix of casual beach vibes with excellent amenities. Everything you need is here, and is in good shape. Beds and couches are comfy and clean.Wasn't sure if being right on the hwy would be too noisy, but you don't notice it when you're inside and the ocean view is sooo worth the slow roll of cars.We especially appreciated how dogs are not only allowed, but approved of, and really added to the pleasure of having our two dogs with us. The fenced rear yard was secure enough to feel ok having them out there.

Best place to stay in Bodega Bay

This was our 2nd time staying at Spare Time with our 2 big dogs. The house has every amenity you could ask for! It has the perfect location with amazing ocean views, plus you are a short drive from lots of great food options. Cari is an amazing host. Great communication and zero issues with our stays. We love coming to Spare Time and will only consider staying there when we go to BB.

Breathe, Relax, Play!

Cari’s home is clean, comfortable, warm, and has MANY perks. The views of the ocean from the front windows are incredible! We went to the tide pools across the street and found starfish, crabs, mussels, hermit crabs, little fish, a clam worm and so much more! Be aware that the path down is steep in places, but worth it. Over at Bodega Bay harbor, we had the good fortune of seeing an elusive weasel TWICE! We flew kites at Bodega Head, hiked, watched for whales, and enjoyed the sunset. Being in the hot tub after a day of hiking and tide-pooling was so pleasant. Cari is quick to respond to any questions and ensures your stay will be all that you need it to be. FYI: The Tides restaurant is NOT what it used to be.

Wonderful place to stay, will come back definitely

My wife and I stayed here along with our corgi and 2 month old son. This place was beautiful, and had everything that we needed during our stay. The location was so convenient, and seeing the view from the property was priceless. Cari had great communication throughout our stay. We will definitely come back here in the future when we have any spare time :)

Unmatched Views in a Super Cozy Home

This lovely house on the beach, cleverly called "Spare Time", did not disappoint! My travel party of three humans and two small dogs, thoroughly enjoyed our stay - so much that we extended it one extra night (at the very kind offer of Cari)! Lots of thought went into making this house feel so comfortable. We especially appreciated...the fireplace - keeps the house so warm, which we enjoyed as it was cold & windy during our stay; excellent water pressure in the shower; home is well-insulated and quiet; loved the dining table and chairs - very comfortable for meals (and puzzles!); backyard is large and perfect for pups to explore in a safe, enclosed area; fabulous new dishwasher; great coffeemaker (same one I have at home!); espresso machine was also an added bonus as coffee lovers; streaming options on the smart TV were excellent. And of course, the many windows are the absolute BEST part to take in that incredible view of the ocean, right outside your door. We didn't get to use the deck much due to weather, but hope to on a future visit.The only issue we had during our stay was the outside hanging lights didn't work, but Cari was quick to help us try and fix over the phone. While we got them to come on briefly - unfortunately, due to the rain, the outdoor outlet kept shorting out (as it should, of course, for safety!). Cari was apologetic and understanding of our disappointment, and said she'd be fixing it soon. Can't wait to stay here again - it's a beautiful place!
