Absolutely beautiful property! The house is really comfortable and rich with history. I loved sitting on the porch watching the sunset and walking the lovely grounds! Comfy beds, great kitchen, stunning grounds and lots of fun smells for my dog! They even had spare dog bowls if you forgot yours! Really thoughtful and responsive hosts, too. Amazing getaway and easy to recommend!

We had a wonderful peaceful visit. Enjoyed visiting museums in Gettysburg and then returning to peace. Everything was well stocked, clean, and thoughtful.

Lovely and comfortable Christmas stay at this historic stone home. Essentials and extras were provided - for doggie as well! Beautiful sunrises - calm and peaceful. Great location and ease for local activities. Enjoyed the few days while they lasted!

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful and historic farmhouse for three nights. The house was clean, well-stocked and comfortable. We visited the battlefield in Gettysburg for two days and had a wonderful and educational trip. If you like a quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable place to stay, we highly recommend it.

We LOVED this farmhouse/cabin vacation rental! Absolutely charming and wonderful. Everything we could have needed was included. The property was a very easy drive to Liberty Resort and several delicious restaurants. Especially loved the small herd of deer who grazed near the two small spring ponds at sunset each night. We plan to visit again!!

The stay was amazing. The deck is great! Should have some bar top chairs and a higher table so you don’t have to look thru the rails to see the wildlife. Perfect history match for Gettysburg!

Quiet & Relaxing

Very nice old farmhouse in a quiet and relaxing setting. Large grassy and wooded section to the front of the house that featured deer & turkeys. The house was cozy & comfortable & had everything we needed to relax after a day of sightseeing in Gettysburg.

Perfect Getaway

Spent a weekend at this farm. Lovely historical home. Maintains original features yet fully updated. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Beautiful property. Very well cared for; clean & neat. Highly recommend!

Really unique place

The house is as described by owner. It was really in a beautiful location and we just loved reading about some of the history of the house and property. The house is well stocked with the essentials and it was so quiet and private. I will stay there again sometime if the owner will have us again. Communication with the owner prior to our visit went well. There are a lot of things to do nearby to make an experience. One of our favorite places we have stayed.

Amazing Historical Getaway in the Mountains

We came to visit Gettysburg and Amish Country and were excited to learn that while we had spent much time learning about the Civil War, Lee had actually come to visit the very house we stayed at and is detailed in a book located at the property called “A River to Cross”. Before we left we took a picture with our pup on “Lee’s rock” where he rested while the horses drank from a spring nearby and his troops had tea and recharged at the property. The property is very clean, located in a great in between to many destinations, and is a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a historic getaway to the mountains. Thanks again for a fantastic stay, Michelle!

Quick Escape!

Close to home but far enough to leave worries behind. We checked out local breweries and all were delicious with great atmosphere. Dinner in Emmitsburg was divine and they even gave me a single red rose for Valentine's. We loved the history and charm, the property for walking, and we played some of the very old board games in the home. The owner was very responsive and helpful with navigating the snowy driveway and cleared a path to the door! We reccommend highly and will definitely return!
