Beautiful cabin! Great view of mountains. Love how the host had everything labeled (lights, cabinets.. where everything was located) made finding what we needed super easy. The cabin was very clean and well prepared for our stay. We will stay here again!

The cabin is great very well maintained. The company who is in charge of the communication is hard to communicate I have to send several messages and the call for finally gets some answers regarding the place, need to improve the communication.But the place where is located is beautiful so the cabin .

Awesome place!

Went with my two sons for some R&R, golf and fishing. The HB lodge was very clean and comfortable. I read all the great reviews and it still exceeded my expectations. My concerns when doing cabins are bugs, AC and being able to sleep in if I feel like it. Well, the AC works amazing, we each had our own bedroom and bathroom on separate floors, that had room darkening treatments, and I never saw a single bug anywhere on any floor. It's obvious the place is very well maintained and cared for.

Cabin Comforts

This cabin was extremely clean and attention was given to details. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed to prepare meals if staying in. It is conveniently located near downtown if choosing to go out. The decks and hot tub were wonderful for hanging outside and enjoying mountain views. The decor of the cabin was very inviting and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Good experience - just a little musty smelling

It was a very nice space and location for a weekend getaway. Everything looked very clean and they provided amenities such as shampoo, sponge, dish soap, etc. They do a great job communicating and leaving notes in cabin. My only complaint is the smell. We could smell it for a little bit but then got used to it and well now I have washed my clothes 3 times (in vinegar) and the smell hasn't come out. Now I feel compelled to purchase a new pack and play and travel crib as I cannot have kids sleeping in a musty smell- especially a newborn. I don't know if this is something they could help so not faulting them- but just wanted to note that in case others have sensitive smells like my family. Again, it was very clean and maybe this is just a thing with cabins.

Beautiful home and scenery

We had a wonderful stay. The views from the balconies are awesome. We loved the wrap around deck. The owners checked on us just to see if we needed anything, such a sweet jesture.

Mother Daughter’s Weekend

Cabin was perfect. Roomy, cozy and the neighborhood was gated.. plus for us. Bed on main level was too soft for my liking. Kitchen was well equipped. Nice cabin out of town but close enough for multiple trips if necessary.

Mountain getaway

Cabin was nice and clean. Enjoyed our stay. Only problems were some of the cooking pans were terrible. I understand that you can’t leave great pans because people will not take care of them but, these were some of the worst I ever had used when staying at a cabin. Minor problem with no batteries in the tv remote upstairs. Overall would recommend.

July 4th Weekend

Really enjoyed the cabin. The inside is almost all wood and gives it a great cabin feel. Lots of balcony/porch space and a brand new grill that was ready to use. Fire pit area is also nice. Disappointing does not begin to describe…Embarrassing!

Due to character restrictions, I am forced to use only a portion of my longer review. Disappointing does not even begin to describe the Honeybear Lodge. Upon arriving at the Honeybear Lodge, it just had an exterior appearance of being unkempt. The landscape was somewhat overgrown, there were weeds in the driveway, and the porch appeared to be dirty. When we entered the house, it had a musty smell and was extremely dark. Within 10 minutes we were greeted by the screams of our children telling us they found spiders and ants. The house was literally infested with carpenter ants, and we tracked them, and the spiders, to multiple points in the trim around doors and in the bathrooms, where we plainly watched them enter the house. In addition to the ants and spiders, my wife witnessed bugs that were bouncing/jumping on the beds and in the area rugs. I immediately called Mountain Oasis Cabin Rentals and reported the situation. The woman on the phone told me that ants and spiders are to be expected, should be isolated, and that she would send a maintenance tech over. As to the jumping bugs, she told me that the house was not pet friendly and there was zero chance of fleas or bed bugs. We ultimately decided that there was no way we could stay at this house and booked a hotel. I sent an email to Mountain Oasis Cabin Rentals and left multiple voicemails. We eventually heard back from Debbie at Mountain Oasis Cabin Rentals who said, “You mentioned "jumping bugs" which appeared to be fleas. It is possible that fleas could have jumped on you from outside and were then transported into the cabin. It does happen. There is a lot of wildlife in the area and they pass through sometimes leaving pests behind them.” WE TRANSPORTED THE FLEAS INTO THE CABIN!?! Miraculously, we rented another VRBO (that’s right, we had to pay for two) that was even more isolated yet smelled clean when we walked in, and guess what, we did not see one bug in the house for the entire week. It is so crazy how selective these “bugs” can be To end my rant/review, we did not expect a full refund or even a partial refund for that matter. What we did expect, was a house that was not infested with bugs. Again, I am aware of the rental agreement, but as customers, don’t we have some expectation of a livable home? The moral of this story, avoid this place at all costs. There are VRBOs all over Blue Ridge that match their descriptions and allow you to live without the fear of flea infestation.

Amazing find

We were shocked to stay somewhere that matched the description and pictures so perfectly. We brought our 5 month old son and loved that the property was 3 levels so everyone could have space. The kitchen, wrap around porch, hot tub, swing, and beds were all perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better cabin!
