Enjoyable and relaxing

This cabin was almost perfect for our family of 4. Children 17 & 20 years old. The view was breathtaking. We enjoyed a few evenings in the hot tub, sitting by the fire outside and playing some pool and ping pong. We also liked how close it was to downtown Blue Ridge. There are only few critiques 1) the master bedroom being an open loft did not allow for much privacy. 2) the living room floor did not appear as if it was vacuumed as we saw m&m’s and crumbs by sofa and under table. 3) hot tub had hair. So cleaning could be better. Consider closing off the master.

Peaceful getaway and beautiful scenery!

My husband and I stayed at “Cherokee Dreamers Den” and had the joy of seeing the beautiful North Georgia Mountains for an entire week! We take a summer family trip with our children, then a much calmer fall trip to the mountains to keep our marriage alive, young and fresh. We get so busy these days that we don’t make time for each other and this allows us to pause life and make time for US. So in this process, we look for places that are higher up on the mountain with a view, secluded and less trafficked, and Fall Foliage peak. Initially I started with needing to contact the owner because we pack everything prior to coming from belongings to groceries to firewood. We couldn’t figure out if the fireplace was gas or wood burning (last year we carried wood for a gas fireplace) I inquired and the owner responded very quickly (huge A+ because I am a “know now kind of person”) *it is a wood burning fireplace and they are so sweet to provide you with some starter logs. This year we timed it perfect! We stayed 11/1-11/7 and the colors were absolutely beautiful! We saw the trees change colors our entire stay from start to finish. (Usually we hit the 2nd week and miss the bright colors) We saw a mature wild turkey, several deer, and feel like we heard a bear (but that one’s unknown) The view is outstanding, wish some of the trees were trimmed down some where you could see a touch wider view but again the view is perfect. Our weather was great. Cool/dry, rained one day. Had fog one day but the way it laid on the mountains looked really cool! The cabin was smaller than what we have stayed at in the past but absolutely the perfect size for what we needed plus room if you plan to have guests! It was so clean and very comfortable. We noticed a little more traffic than we usually get when we stay in the mountains but it’s not bad. Great location, there’s an outside fire pit and a hot tub (we didn’t utilize because I’m still recovering from surgery) kitchen was stocked which was nice because I forgot butter so having Pam was a great substitute, bathrooms had heaters which I loved because I don’t like being cold after showers, the game room downstairs was fun. Only thing I would say is they have nice tv’s, however it would be nice if they were smart tv’s so guests could log into their services like Redbox or Netflix ect and watch their shows/a movie. We learned there is not a lot on tv during the week/late and despise commercials. Great stay overall!

Nice Weekend Getaway

My husband and I came to Blue Ridge for a long weekend. The property manager provided thorough information about the stay and directions to the property. The house was very clean! The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and various spices. Very convenient to downtown Blue Ridge.

Wonderful!

This was the perfect place for a relaxing vacation! We loved the view - we've gone on several Blue Ridge getaways and thought this was the best one we've had! We had a great time relaxing by the fire and in the hot tub. Could not have been happier. (We did slip going down to the downstairs once - they are slick. Do not attempt in socks!)

Nice cabin, but unsafe stairs to basement

This property has a great view and is well appointed, however, the stairs to the basement are not safe and do not meet today's standard code. As well, the floors through-out have been waxed and are very slick (there was a hair on the floor in our bathroom that was imbedded in the wax which confirmed this). With a pretty bad fall down the stairs resulting in a chipped pelvic bone and severe bruising, we did not feel comfortable using the basement level after that which is where we would have like to enjoy the pool and ping-pong tables. I contacted the property mgt co. to let them know what happened and suggested they contact the homeowner to address this issue and provide a solution to include posting a warning to their renters. I would highly recommend that if you stay at this cabin, you are careful when wearing socks.

relaxing

Our family of four spent four nights there. Everything was lovely. Really enjoyed the porch the most. There was a lot of space to spread out and many spaces to enjoy the view and fresh air. We had a few days of rain during our stay but that didn't dampen our enjoyment as we simply opened the doors to the cabin to still be able to enjoy the outdoors. That's just when storms came through, the porch was still quite usable during the lighter rain. Oh, and the beds were every so comfortable. Plenty of towels for everyone too. The location was excellent. Downtown Blue Ridge provides a delightful afternoon of browsing with lots of choices for dining. However our favorite meal was at Mystic Mountain Pizza. (SOOOO good.) The river and lake were nearby to enjoy as well. We canoed the lake as opposed to kayaking the river, just due to all the rain. I HIGHLY recommend taking about the hour's drive to visit Amicalola Falls. Again, thanks to the great location of this cabin we were able to enjoy so much that the area has to offer without feeling like it was out of reach. Two small items to mention that probably won't matter to the majority of folks who stay here. 1. One bedroom, the "master," is in a lofted area so sound could be a consideration. We gave our kids that space so we could have a room with a door, 2. The TVs are not smart. We managed with personal devices but realized we've developed quite the dependency on having smart TVs.
