The most expensive cabin in Blue Ridge I have stayed in, did not meet expectations. 6 adults and 1 dog visited in late July. Great location in the Aska area. Drive was manageable, an AWD helpful due to sections. Descriptions matched reality regarding room numbers and amenities. Clean upon arrival, decently stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Room to enjoy without feeling cramped. Mountain views surrounding the property. Cabin had bland decorations; bedrooms were bare and one lacked a TV. Ceiling fans were unusable due to noise. Screened-in room had non-functional latches, and deck seating was limited with no loungers. Yard was mostly dirt and clay, lacking grass or fencing for pets, and an old wooden rail was deteriorating. A significant tick infestation made it difficult to enjoy the yard. Rental agreement process was cumbersome, and they charged my card for the pet instead of placing a hold. Deposit was never returned, requiring a dispute. Responded quickly to issues but provided poor updates on repairs. There was no owner contact information, no instructions in the cabin, and no guest book. A bear damaged the trash area, which was never repaired, leading to insect issues. We experienced a day without running water, with no compensation or timely updates from management. I had to use spa water to refill toilets. After twelve years of renting in Blue Ridge, this experience was disappointing. If a property charges luxury rates but can't provide basic amenities, rent elsewhere.
