We had an wonderful stay! This cabin is amazing - the workmanship was impressive! As others have already said, it is super clean, and the peace and quiet of the area cannot be beat. Serpell was a wonderful host - she checked to make sure we didn't need anything, and let us know she was nearby if something came up. There were pamphlets and recommendations for anything we needed. We understood everything would be a drive, but that's what we wanted - to be in the middle of nowhere, with the sounds of nature all around us. (We also enjoyed walking to the barn to see the cows in person.) I can only imagine that the prairie of wildflowers is beautiful when in bloom, so we'll just have to come back! We hiked several trails - Buzzardroost Rock was worth the climb for the end result's view. (I would love to see it in the Fall.) But we preferred Quiverheart Gorge, which was beautiful the entire route - with a lovely waterfall, interesting rock formations, and amazing moss, ferns, and wildflowers for us to see during the entire walk. We also took a day trip to Portsmouth to view the Floodwall Mural, which was definitely worth the drive! The cabin was a great place to return to every evening, and we truly felt at home. We definitely enjoyed the covered side porch and the swing!! We listened to birds, read books, and enjoyed hearing the sound of rain hit the roof one evening. We HIGHLY recommend this cabin and the owner(s) for a fantastic vacation experience!!

Quiet retreat

Beautiful, quiet location on a small farm. Gorgeous cabin with rustic feel. So peaceful. Great place for our family of 4 to rest, unplug, unwind and spend some unhurried time together. Plenty of opportunities for short hikes nearby, or just stay in the cabin and chill. We were there in the cool part of spring, and the kids loved having a fireplace both indoors and outdoors.

Just love this place!

It's beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, hospitable, clean, and down right wonderful. My only complaint (and it's more of a suggestion) is different shower heads. The water comes out in a wide spray which makes it very hard to get all the shampoo out. Just a thought.

Cabin getaway

The cabin is beautiful and secluded. The indoor fireplace we couldn’t use so that was a disappointment since it was one of the things I was looking forward to. We did use the outdoor fireplace and that was nice. Stores are quite far for groceries so remember to take everything you need because running out for something is not an option the roads are narrow and winding so distance seems further. Also ask when booking about the “Contract” I received a contract from the host 4 days before we were scheduled to be at the cabin, we had already paid in full and could not have canceled so it seemed we should of seen it when booking? I gave 5 stars because the Cabin really deserved it but those little details matter in my opinion.

Everything was perfect!

This was our third time staying at this cabin, and most likely won't be our last time. The cabin is perfect, with everything you need inside, a number of sitting areas outside, and the surrounding area is quiet and very peaceful. The hosts are wonderful and think of everything you would need to make the stay easy and carefree.

Peaceful and relaxing

This remote cabin was everything we hoped for. We stayed 4 nights to get away from our busy lives. The cabin was perfect for this de stress from everyday life. If you like the pictures then you will love it here. It was clean and it had everything we needed. I absolutely fell in love with this cabin. I hope to visit ago someday because it was just what I needed at this hectic time in my life. I came back home refreshed and sad at the some time. Sad because I missed this beautiful cabin.

Absolutely Fantastic!

Pictures do not do this house justice. We’ve stayed many places and this is by far our favorite! What a beautifully done home! Not just the build but the attention to detail. Serpell said her husband built this log cabin… he’s a genius to detail. They also had thought of everything we would or could need during our stay! And the on property prairie trails were so beautiful and well maintained! Wow! Just can’t say enough about what a wonderful stay this was. This was a romantic getaway for our 23rd anniversary, but now can’t wait to bring our whole family back to enjoy this wonderful place!
