Coziest cottage in the world!

We just returned from a delightful three-day stay at the coziest cottage in the world, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! Nestled in Blowing Rock, NC, this charming 1900s home perfectly blends original decor with modern comforts.The location was fantastic—just a short walk to downtown, which allowed us to easily explore the Speckled Trout Fly Shop and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the nearby beer garden. After a day of adventure, we loved returning to our warm and inviting cottage.One of the highlights of our stay was the lovely fireplace with gas logs. Watching the snow fall outside while cozied up by the fire was truly magical. The cottage offered plenty of space for our family, with multiple rooms that allowed us to spread out and relax.Check-in was a breeze, and we appreciated the ample parking available. The area was wonderfully quiet, providing the perfect escape in nature.We’re already dreaming of our next visit to this charming cottage! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy getaway in Blowing Rock!

Nice house. Convenience to everything was very nice. Artsy atmosphere in and out of house is amazing! Please look at electrical outlets in upstairs bedroom with the two beds since the outlet pulls out. Recommended all outlets be looked at, since this has happened in other bedrooms, too. One plug does not work in bath by kitchen. Additional lighting is recommended. Overall, wonderful stay.

Older home in a great location

I have stayed at Suddreth Cottage before. I enjoy its older character, lovely grounds and easy walk to the middle of town. Nothing is modern in the house so if you want up to date appliances and TV/streaming entertainment - this is not the place for you. If those things are not important to you, you will likely find the cottage a charming respite

Girls Weekend in the mountains

Stayed at Suddreth Cottage in Blowing rock. Cute and historic cottage. Ample space for our group of 3. Could easily have accommodated more. Kitchen well supplied. So close to all you want to do in downtown Blowing Rock and easy peasy ride to Blue Ridge Parkway for hiking or viewing the sunset. Communication good with host. We recommend this place!!

House is advertised as winter worthy. It is not.

This property is advertised as a great winter rental. In just normal winter weather this is not a good property . The charm etc of the cottage is charming, the fact that it is so old and not able to retain heat is unacceptable, and strongly feel it should be listed as such. Warn ppl. I had one elderly friend who slept in his clothing for three nights. Pipes froze in kitchen, which was acceptable considering the deep freeze. Once pipes thawed, we then had virtually no hot water in any of the bathrooms. Which resulted in no showers for the last two days. Friends stayed in first floor bedroom needed to purchase an additional heat source on Sat from Tractor Supply. We put towels around the windows, taped doors, etc to try and keep the cold out. I realize the extreme cold was once in a 40 year timeframe, but the house is not fit for normal winter weather. I grew up in Vermont, not one to shy away from the cold. I would never recommend this property rental in the winter. False advertising. I’ve rented in Blowing Rock for over 20 years. This by far was the worst and most disappointing. Christmas was a total bust. Very sad.

Nice house but decided not to stay once we got there

We ended up not staying in the house. We went the first day and the house layout is not great for small kids. The staircase was a little shaky and the bedrooms opening up right to the stairs is not great for small kids. I think we would have felt differently if it were just my wife and I.

Great location but several issues

The house was great location, easy walk to town and events. It was older home and appeared out of date but it went perfect with the style of home. We really liked the style. But upon arrival, the parking are was iced over with only a little sand to spread where needed to walk to house by from car. There was another house right behind ours so it would difficult for additional cars to park and turn around with the ice. Inside issues (keep in mind there are 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms-possibly 6 adults could have been there): The shower head did not work in master downstairs bath so had to take a bath instead of showering. The other downstairs bath, only had tub. The shower head upstairs spouted water across bathroom. The hot water faucet, leaked. And only one person could bath/shower due to lack of water pressure and hot water. Huge issue when everyone is trying to get ready at same time. And this is A couple of small issues: No hand soap in the bathrooms so we had to buy our own. No extra toliet paper in upstairs bathroom. Took extra from other downstairs bathroom. Trash can in kitchen was a taller can with just a grocery store/Walmart bag in it. It filled up quickly then dropped to the bottom of the can when we filled it up. And no extra trash bags in kitchen. Bed in upstairs bedroom were worn down on one side also. Otherwise it was comfy. The other bedroom was very dark. The lighting definitely needs to be brighter. We stayed in other bedroom which had plenty of light. I have talked to the rental company and just waiting on issues to be addressed. They were very receptive!

Wonderful Stay - Amazing location

We had an amazing weekend in Blowing Rock and at this cottage ! Being able to walk everywhere with our 3month old and 3 year old was so convenient. Great accommodations and lovely town

Walking distance to town

We stayed with 6 adults and enjoyed the front porch and ability to be together and walk to town. It is important to remember that the house was built in the 1800’s. Bathrooms are dated and the house is a little dark. Enjoyed reading the history of the house .

Smack Dab In the Middle of Blowing Rock

We couldn't have asked for a better property. The house and grounds are charming and very well kept. The address is Main St., but the house sits well back from the road and feels very private. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed. This is an historic house so the stairs creak and the screen doors slap, but that only added to the charm for us. Everything is in walking distance. Great experience.

Wonderful stay

Needs a bit updating. Toilet seats too low for older adults. Toilet lid upstairs kept coming off, kitchen pots and pans need replacing _ food sticks. Grill did not work. Igniter broken. Sink in upstairs bathroom does not drain well. Shower downstairs has no water power .these are all minor fixes. Location location location. Thank you for a nice stay.

Adorable cottage in Blowing Rock!

Girls weekend.

Fabulous quaint cottage. Loved the decor. Work on more comfortable seats for older adults. Need to replace shower liner upstairs. Check shower stream in downstairs shower. Great location and parking. Loved the outdoor gazebo! Had a great time. We will return!

Location cannot be beat

Large quiet property just a short walk from all that Downtown Blowing Rock has to offer. The house was spacious and clean and the outdoor areas were great for coffee or afternoon cocktails. Property Mgr was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
