The front desk staff was so lovely and was as helpful as she could be given the state of the property. Also, it was across the street from the Ivy charge station. However, honestly, this is one of the worst places I've ever stayed and I once stayed at a motel that was half blown up when we showed up because someone had been cooking meth there (shout out to the Inn Towne Motel in Hope, BC!).
We were given a pet-friendly room that absolutely stunk, primarily of old, stale smoke. The beds were uncomfortable and there was grit/sand between the sheets on one of them. There was no hand soap provided, but I don't think the property owners actually want you to use the water. I came to this conclusion when I had no hot water and was informed by the front desk that I had to let it run for a minimum of 10 minutes because the hot water has to "make its way through the pipes". Can you really say that the property offers hot water if it takes 10 minutes to get there? This is a rhetorical question.
If you are desperate, it didn't seem super dangerous, and this comes from a single female traveller.
Maybe your truck smells like dog farts and you've been on the road for 12 hours for the third day straight and its 9pm and you almost hit a bear on the highway and you just need to stop driving and, in a moment of weakness, the Old Mill seems like a good idea. You probably won't get robbed or die.
