The property was perfect for our two families! Plenty of space and something for everyone, though the pool was the standout feature. We enjoyed our daily hikes of the property.

Everything as advertised

Everyone LOVED the stay. The pool was the best personal pool I have ever rented. Its HUGE! The place was spotless and had everything you need to intertain kids of all ages. Trails where great too. I wish we could have stayed longer. We plan on renting it again for sure.

Beautiful and Remote

We had a great time at this beautiful property! The property is about 35 minutes to civilization so make sure you are fully stocked on everything you'd need durning your stay. There are plenty of trails and areas to explore as it sits on 200 acres. The indoor pool and hot tub were a very nice touch and refreshing after hitting the trails all day. I would definitely recommend this location for large family gatherings or work trips!

Perfect Mountain Setting

A great escape to nature and a beautiful home! We held a small staff (11) retreat at this location. We accomplished a lot during our meetings, but even better we were able to relax and take advantage of the amenities (hiking, swimming, rocking chairs, fire pit, game room, etc.) during our downtime. The host even accommodated a late check out on our part. The kitchen was easy to work with for our meals, with plenty of refrigerator (2) space and large eating area. Very clean.

Mansion in the Hills

My friends and I all loved the property. When we arrived we found it very clean, organized, and ready for use. We especially loved the indoor pool, basement with activities, and the outdoor seating area for hanging out. If you're coming through Morehead, KY to reach the property, I recommend continuing onto Grayson, KY. The roads are much easier to navigate, and less car-sick inducing. TLDR: Loved the property! Go through Grayson, KY if you're coming from the north.

Escape from it all!

We choose to stay here for the house and pool. We LOVED that it was in the middle of nowhere. The house was clean and stocked with basic essentials. The host was very quick to respond to all of my questions and concerns. We did not go anywhere. We planned and cooked all our meals at the house and just played games and relaxed. We had 8 adults and 4 children under 5. The layout was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own room and bathroom. There were storms in the area the first night we stayed and the power was out for 8 hours. The cell service is poor but we were able to get a message to our host and she was very responsive and kept us in the loop. We drove about 9 miles away to Ralph’s market and met the nicest people. We were able to get ice for our cooler to keep our food cold and they even had FREE coffee. (They called our VRBO the mansion on the hill)😂😂. If you are looking for a luxurious escape with peace and quiet then BOOK this house. You will not be disappointed.

Family vacation

Our family spent 3 nights at this house and we had an amazing time. The house is located at top of a hill so the views were great. However, the steepness was a concern with small kids and lots of lost balls over the edges… Plenty of trails to walk and they are wide enough for an ATV. The house was big enough for our family and we loved the outdoor area. However, stairs outside did not have handrails, which was also a safety concern for children and elderly family members. Rooms were very large and great mix of kid and adult space. Most rooms had no storage for clothes, which would make stays longer than 2-3 nights a bit of a hassle with not being able to unpack a suitcase. Be aware that the pool is kept at a “brisk” 82F…we lasted about 15 min before getting too cold. We spent most of the time in the hot tub! There was one door to the pool that did not lock securely (just a handle lock that our children easily could unlock). This was a major concern for us, so we used fashioned a rope tied to the door handle to “lock it” from the pool side since we had 4 kids under 6 years old. It really needed to lock from the pool side or with a lock that the kids couldn’t reach. Host is very responsive. Overall we had a wonderful time and it was a fabulous way to gather the family.

A special property to say the least. My only suggestion is that there is a phone number to call with questions prior to arriving and/or if issues came up. All communications without a telephone option is not optimal.

Fabulous Getaway for Family & Big Groups

I cannot say enough great things about this VRBO! The communication with the host, Audrey, before and during our stay was excellent! The home is so great, and the property was incredible! A couple of helpful tips for future renters: - the home is older and has some visible wear, but it was nothing that was an issue and the home was super clean (we were able to walk around with no shoes and no one had dirty feet after!) - there is nothing around in terms of food, so we all packed coolers and cooked the entire trip. The kitchen has everything you need for doing so, and there is a second refrigerator in the garage (not shown in the listing). - we brought dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and a side by side UTV on the property and we thoroughly enjoyed all of them or even just hiking on the trails! (aka - the trails are excellent for multiple activities!!) Overall - this house was great! It is huge and has plenty of space for everyone (we had 20 in our group). The kids and adults loved the game room downstairs in the evenings (pop a shot was a hit!!). The kids LOVED the pool and there’s so much space for adults to lounge around if swimming is not your thing. The outdoor fire pit and patio were a huge hit too! And even the front driveway was a blast for dancing around, kids riding bikes, and just hanging out. The views are amazing at this property from pretty much any angle, so if you’re outside, you’re sure to enjoy yourself! We will DEFINITELY be booking this property again. Everyone (kids & adults) said this was their favorite vacation ever. Thanks Audrey for hosting and sharing this gem of a place with us!!

Great Place to get away

Large enough for 19 of us. Never felt on top of each other. Paths are great, we used them for hiking. Pool is large and entertained the kids for hours. Nice game room. Beautiful location. This is a place to come and enjoy family and friends or just check out of daily life. Not a lot locally if you are looking for other things to do. We will be back.
