We really enjoyed the beauty and peace at Timber Ridge. Mornings and evenings were my favorite time on the very large veranda. The road in is a little tricky, but I think that is the price you pay for quiet a view. The house is beautiful and spacious! Black Mountain was a great little town with some great restaurants! And close enough to Asheville to explore as well! One suggestion would be a few dimmer switches (especially in the dining room) would really make things perfect!

Great property with gorgeous views!

Timber Ridge was a great mountain getaway for our family. Plenty to do on-site including short hikes, corn hole, and games. The cabin layout was perfect for family time and quiet time. The drive up to the cabin required navigating some steep gravel roads but our 2-wheel drive vehicle was up to the task! Close proximity to Black Mountain and Asheville was a plus! Would definitely stay again!

Family Get Together

The house was great and perfect for 6 adults and 2 dogs. Mike was very responsive and very helpful. The mountain views were outstanding. Black Mountain is very nice small town and the proximity to Asheville was very convenient. Overall, we had a very enjoyable family get together!

Privacy and Mountain Valley Views

We booked this for a family trip to Asheville for my daughter’s graduation from UNCA. There was room for everyone, 10 adults and a Labradoodle, with room to spare! We had a small cookout with 14 people total and still had lots of room for dinning, board games and multiple conversations with no yelling! Hiking trails, wildlife and mountain scenery all just outside the door! There was no reason to leave this beautiful home! With a pool table and ping pong table downstairs there was no shortage of entertainment! An actual wood burning fireplace with firewood provided was the cherry on top! High Rock Rentals did an amazing job and we will definitely return, maybe soon for a wedding because my daughter is engaged!! Beautiful place, wonderful time and a fantastic host!

Mountain Views and Relaxing Stream

The property was as advertised. The views were great, and the home had everything we needed. The property manager was very responsive to my questions. We enjoyed the fire place (since the weather was colder than expected), the hot tub, and the ping-pong/pool table. The highlight for us may have been the stream just down the hill from the cabin. Very peaceful and relaxing to just sit beside it. Hope to return to either this cabin or the one right by the stream one day.

Cozy Christmas

We stayed at Timber Ridge for a short pre-Christmas visit to the Biltmore, and I’m so glad we did. The house is so spacious! The bedrooms are spaced out with their own bathrooms, so everyone had their own area to spread out. The kitchen is well-stocked with kitchen tools. We cooked breakfast and dinner there all weekend. The pool table and hot tub were great for those of us who wanted a little fun. I stayed curled up by the Christmas tree and fire place each night. The drive up is very windy and the gravel drive was a little intimidating at night the first time, but was otherwise fine. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and hope to be back again!

Exactly what we were looking for

We were looking for a true mountain cabin experience for a family gathering, and this place checked every box. The cabin is beautiful and super comfortable, with plenty of space for multiple families (each bedroom has a dedicated bathroom), a well-supplied kitchen, and a great game room area, too. The deck and the views are incredible. We aren’t even hot tub people but we ended up using it a lot, as it was just so nice to sit in the warm water and enjoy the mountain air and the stunning landscape. There’s a stream and trails right down the road from the property and a fire pit basically on site. There are so many little details that make the cabin feel comfortable—it’s clear that a lot of thought went into making this place feel homey. Mike, the host, was super friendly and helpful. It was an adventure getting up the mountain but he assured us that after a few more trips, we’d get used to traversing the winding and bumpy mountain roads, and he was right. Black Mountain (the town) is basically at the bottom of the mountain, about 20 minutes from the cabin, and it’s a cute place to grab groceries or a bite to eat. There’s a nice toy/bookstore/gift shop there as well. We had a really wonderful time and definitely hope to return!

Last minute getaway before back to school

Hubby and I with our 4 children and my mom, who is recovering from a stroke. We had an absolutely wonderful visit. The home was everything we could’ve asked for. The expansive views and absolute quiet were exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed exploring the areas around the homes as well as Black Mountain and Chimney Rock/Lake Lure. Contact with the host was seamless and he was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend this home. VRBO with all of their fees made this trip way more expensive than it needed to be though.

Mountain escape

The timber ridge cabin exceeded our expectations. The view was absolutely amazing. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained. We were able to explore around the property which had some hiking trails. They provided plenty of firewood for bonfires and the fireplace inside. Mike was great and available if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend!

Great cabin

We have stayed in many mountain cabins in several different places, this cabin is by far the best yet. Great views, comfortable beds and furniture, large televisions in many locations, great fireplace with ample supply of wood. Only issues we had during our stay were several pans and cookware needs replacing, we had to purchase some as we did a lot of cooking on this trip. I would suggest adding charging stations for iPhones, etc in the bedrooms and den. Overall it’s a great cabin and you will not be disappointed if you book this property.

Beyond Beautiful

The pictures do not do this place justice. The views were beyond beautiful. During our visit we had 2 full days of some nasty rain. My family and I had a great time being stuck inside this home and even sat in the hottub while pouring outside. We had some really bad winds and Mike the owner came over and we spoke for about an hour. This was a family run property that was run better then any hotel I have ever stayed at. He was beyond a pleasure to speak to. The road going up was adventurous and but was not a challenege for my city slicker Yukon. Thanks again Mike!

Perfect for our girls week away.

Everything lovely. Cabin and setting is spectacular. We had a fabulous time! 4 bedrooms. 4 baths. So beautiful. Loved the town of Black Mountain. Visited Biltmore …..so worth the cost. Very interesting. Great time all around.
