The home was immaculate, and as a pet-friendly home it certainly exceeded my expectations. The views did not disappoint. The extra thoughtful touches were appreciated (plenty of extra blankets for lounging, kid-friendly touches in the bunk room and a large assortment of games for family time, plenty of kitchen amenities to please any chef, and even night lights throughout the home (an often forgotten travel item) .

Wonderful family vacation

Our family had a wonderful vacation at this Black Mountain home. Some of our favorite things about the home:1. The views from the home are breathtaking! We were able to watch the sunrise each morning. 2. The check in process and communication with the owners was wonderful. We had a couple of questions during our stay and the owners responded very quickly.3. The ping pong table, foosball table, and video game machine were big hits with the teens and young adults in the group!4. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies needed for cooking meals at the house. 5. The personal touches of the home owners was appreciated. The welcome basket, toiletries and other household supplies provided were so thoughtful.We would definitely stay at this home again if we are in the Black Mountain area.

Great location for a large group!

Stay was excellent! The Diamonds were communicative, easy to work with, and accommodating of our needs. House is quite large. The wrap-around porch provided multiple spaces in which small groups could gather, or our introverts could sneak away for a “quiet break”. The large dining tables is grand! Definitely a place to remember.

Perfect location for our family reunion!

We had a great time! Kitchen/dining spacious enough for our large group (13). Home super clean and beds very comfortable. We had lots of things to do together and spaces to retreat for quiet. Enjoyed sunrises on the 360° deck, and hikes to nearby falls. Thanks for hosting our family reunion; hope we can come again.

Perfect home for young and old!

We were mesmerized by the views and the home! It was spotless and accommodating. The host checked in several times and made us feel welcome. We would love to stay here again. Also, because we have a disabled family member, I searched for a home with features and layout that would make him comfortable. After the three low stairs it was a smooth entry. Thank you for considering all those who have circumstances life hands us. We appreciated the welcome basket with the all the treats and the special items. We will think of our vacation every time we use them. 🙂

Spring Break in Catawba Falls

Catawba Falls Reserve is probably our favorite place to stay when we visit North Carolina to hike. We have stayed in this area multiple times. The Black Diamond Lodge is definitely the BEST! We loved the location as it has a trailhead to Upper Catawba Falls right behind the lodge. It is secluded enough to enjoy nature without being inconvenient to taking trips into town for needs. The layout of the lodge easily held our family and we actually could have had more people with us. The parking can hold several cars ( we have 3). Jason, our host, was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for our week. I highly recommend this lodge.

Mountain getaway

Cabin was exactly as pictured and described. Absolutely beautiful with stunning views. We even got a little snow! Kitchen fully stocked! All bedrooms spacious with bathrooms. So private. Game room downstairs was used by all ages on our trip. Easy drive to town. Would love to stay there again. Highly recommend!

The house is enormous and the views unbeatable. Having rented numerous houses in these mountains, I can easily say this was the best view of them all. Thirteen of us (with 2 dogs) celebrated a family Christmas that will go down in the history books as awesome. There was room for everyone to have his own space. The large square table was a real plus; we could all sit for a meal and actually converse with each other. The house is on top of the mountain about 25 minutes from Black Mountain (up a very curvy road). We considered this an asset because we were trying "to get away from it all." We definitely hope to go back again; it was an A+ holiday.

Mountain Chalet getaway

This cabin (we lovingly referred to it as a chalet) was perfect for our Christmas/birthday getaway. The listing was the definition of under promising and over delivering. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions and the kitchen was supplied with everything one could need on a 2 family trip. We took advantage of the large game table and the games downstairs as well as the hot tub one morning after watching the SPECTACULAR sunrise. The house was clean and instructions were clear and the views were breathtaking. If you’ve never stayed in the mountains around Asheville before, you may want to consider popping a Dramamine before you get off the highway (but I have become rather sensitive to car sickness). The twists and turns can make you a bit nauseous but the roads were easy to navigate and no need for 4 wheel or all wheel drive. Once you get to the gate of the neighborhood, what a beautiful drive to reach the cabin. We mainly drank the water straight from the spigot so we didn’t need all the bottled water we brought with us. There was an extra fridge downstairs that they gave us access to use and that proved very helpful for our large group. We visited Asheville the first day and all the breweries and shops but my husband loved our last day more when we spent the day in the little town of Black Mountain. It was such a quaint town with all “coolness” of Asheville but on a much cozier scale. 10/10 would recommend this host and cabin.

We loved our stay at this property. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and has the perfect sleeping options for our group. Our kids loved the bunk room and games downstairs. I also love that there are incredible hiking options right out the back door.
