Fabulous stay
My family loved the cabin in the woods, hiking, visiting Nederland, skiing Eldora, and going into nearby Denver. Everything we needed plus more! Hosts were kind and accomodating.

Besties Mountain Vacation
Everything about Dancing Bear Cabin was wonderful! Tucked perfectly away and yet we felt safe and secure being just us City gals! Loved exploring all the surrounding local establishments and the gift shops... There is so much to do just there on site too if you want to just escape and get back in touch with nature... So beautiful....

Summer 2023
This is our second stay at Dancin Bear Cabin and just as fabulous as the first time. We strive to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life in Michigan. We come to Colorado to see our oldest daughter and son in law, and this cabin is absolutely perfect. Within an hour drive of just about anything we want to do. Hopefully will be staying again in Summer 2024.

Cross country road trip
This was the perfect stay for my parents and I on our cross country road trip! So secluded and up in the mountains. Exceeded all expectations. Such a beautiful, clean, cozy cabin. The drive up with spectacular. Donna was super helpful, kind, and detail oriented! Would love to stay with them again.

Spacious and beautiful, inside and out!
The cabin is lovely with tons of space to relax inside and out. The small touches here and there really add to the experience and help to feel welcome in the space. Outside is breathtaking and the tree swings were a favorite!

Great mountain escape
The property and the house are nicer than the photos. We really enjoyed relaxing on the deck and feeding the hummingbirds, chickadees, and chipmunks! Nice hike up by the Moffat tunnel.

Our second stay - as good as the first
We very much enjoy Don and Donna's cabin. We love having the Roosevelt National Forest as our back yard and the peace and quiet it affords. And we enjoy hiking and there are tons of trails in the area to choose from. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen essentials, which is important as we like to do a little cooking and grilling to cut down on the trips to the nearest town for food and groceries. Donna was quick to respond to a couple of questions we had in the first two days. The only minor inconvenience was that the outside trash container was already full when we arrived so we had to store our trash inside the cabin for the duration of our stay, as we couldn't put it outside due to bears possibly making a visit. This was our second stay in the cabin and we'll be looking to make a third stay in the future for sure.

First timer at Vrbo
Rural, wooded forest, cabin in the woods- away from traffic, furnished with all the amenities. A get-away. Never really expected having TV reception (x3).....a wood burning stove, washer/dryer, all the creature comforts. Clean/friendly and homey.

Great launching point to enjoy the mountains
Had a great stay at the very cute cabin. Had everything listed and a well stocked kitchen with utensils. Make sure to remember/write down the entry code before you are out of cell reception. Once at the cabin the wifi worked well- but it was a great chance to disconnect. The owners were very quick and friendly at responding.

Home Away From Home
Beautiful cabin that is comfortable and centrally located to all Gilpin County has to offer. Owners were helpful and friendly in every encounter. Short distance from Eldora Ski Resort, Blackhawk Casinos, Carribou Trail, and the city of Nederland. Cabin has everything you need to be comfortable and relax with the peace and quiet of being in the middle of the forest. Will definitely stay here again!

Nice comfortable quiet place
This is a true cabin in the woods. Quite and comfortable. It has everything you need. I only spent four night and drove to Eldora to ski each day. The drive took 20+ minutes and was an easy drive. There is a wood stove that kept us nice and warm. Beds were comfortable and clean. Very relaxing.

Great Getaway !
We stayed at The Dancin' Bear for a quick getaway from the city life. It was perfect ! Took a trip into Nederland and a trip to Blackhawk. Was pretty cold to explore the backyard this time. Topped each night off with a fire in the wood stove to take the chill off. Kitchen was well equipped with everything needed. Thanks again and we'll definitely be back !

Comfortable Cabin, So much to do!
We had such a great time! The cabin was not only clean and and very comfortable, with everything you may need for your stay, but they also provide so much for a really enjoyable stay in the mountains - hiking packs/poles for us, but also snowshoes, games and other stuff. Hiking right out the back door, Grilling on the porch next to the aspen trees, watching all the wildlife, and exploring the local towns. A week was not enough!

Beautiful, quiet getaway
This is an amazing place with gorgeous scenery. Well kept, comfortable and quiet. Just watching the critters get after the birdseed was worth the trip, but the drive to Central City during the leaf changing season was breathtaking. Great, personable communication with the owners just sealed the deal. We will be back.

Great Secluded Cabin
I rented this cabin for a personal mini retreat to relax, decompress, and reconnect with the great outdoors. It was perfect, inside and out, and though it is secluded it’s easy to get to and only about an hour’s drive from Denver.

Stress Free Stay
We 100% loved our stay here. We spent our time walking in the woods, bird watching and relaxing on the deck hand feeding Chickadees and Chipmonks. My wife felt like Snow White;) The cabin was just perfect to us, and greatly stocked with everything we could need minus food. The location was just beautiful, far enough into the mountains to have absolute quiet with stores nearby if we needed anything. The Aspens leaves blowing in the wind was hypnotic. Donna was quick to answer any questions we had and we would totally consider staying there again.

Peace and quiet
Sitting on a ridge with a cool breeze, this cabin is right against the Roosevelt Wilderness. High ceilings in the main living area, cozy rooms, a deck with feeders for hummingbirds and chipmunks. I just wish I'd been able to stay longer

Gorgeous and peaceful
We loved our stay at the cabin (in early August 2022). The location was beautiful: set back from the road, surrounded by trees, and full of adorable chipmunks and squirrels (and squirrels that look like chipmunks). Lots of woodpeckers and hummingbirds, too. It was very quiet and at night after the clouds cleared the night sky was amazing. The drives from both Golden and Boulder are curvy and beautiful, and the waterfall on the way to Boulder is worth stopping at. The hiking trails behind the cabin are fun and the kids loved that we could just pop out for a hike without more car time. Golden Gate Canyon State Park is about 10 minutes away and even on a busy weekend had available parking at trailheads. We saw 3 moose on the Horseshoe trail in 2 days, and at fairly close range (a little too close, maybe!). The house itself was very well stocked and comfortable. The hosts thought of everything down to shampoo and laundry soap; they also replied instantly to any questions I had. The kids (10 and 14) appreciated having TVs in their rooms so they could watch their own shows after a day of hard hiking. The bird feeders on the deck attracted lots of birds; my favorites were the giant hairy woodpeckers that were determined to get hummingbird nectar (they'd also chase the chipmunks away from the seed feeder). We spent a lot of time on the deck and on the patio outside one of the bedrooms, and the kids liked the tree swings. We loved Colorado and it was well worth the drive from Houston. And to other travelers that aren't familiar with Colorado's weather: The forecast for our stay was rain every day, but it was usually just a brief thunderstorm in the late afternoon that was easily planned around. TLDR: Loved the cabin, would highly recommend it, and if we take another Colorado trip, we'd stay here again.

Cozy Cabin Vacation
We spent a week in this cozy cabin. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were especially suprised with all the wildlife we saw around the cabin.. We also loved that it was close to Nederland where there are many hikes and a cute town to explore. If you want a relaxing mountain vacation click on this one🙂

Great mountain getaway!
The cabin was really comfortable and in a beautiful mountain setting right next to the Roosevelt National Forest. And it was every bit as quiet as Donna told us it would be! Our hosts, Don and Donna, were responsive to the few questions/needs we had during our stay. WiFi was very good, which we didn't expect considering the remote area in which the cabin was located. And since we are AT&T cellular customers we had good cell service, too. To nitpick, the grate on the propane grill could have used a good cleaning before our arrival, but we used the available brush to do it ourselves. We would definitely like to stay there again the next time we are visiting our son in the Denver area.

4th of July Escape
It was the perfect spot for my boyfriend and I and my dog to escape Denver for the long weekend. Comfortable and secluded but with all amenities needed. We played games, cooked yummy meals, grilled steaks, had fires in the wood stove, lay in the swing to watch the stars. I didn’t want to leave!

Holiday weekend away
The cabin is quaint, quiet and well-appointed. The drive to reach it is absolutely gorgeous (along any of 3 different routes). The road leading to the cabin is well-maintained. There are a few details to keep in mind when renting this property- Low hanging power/phone lines along the driveway. If you have equipment on a rack above your vehicle or a tall vehicle, be very careful- especially at night. You WILL snag these lines driving into the property. Basic maintenance in the cabin needs to be completed (loose kitchen sink faucet, only one light source in the first bedroom and it is falling apart). I discussed these issues with the owner the day we left so, hopefully, they are resolved!

Terrific place in the woods
Absolutely terrific place in the woods, backing up to national forest. Clean, quiet, and cozy. And still only about 45 minutes to Boulder. Owners were very helpful and responsive. We would definitely go back.

Quiet and Cozy Mountain Getaway in a Forest
It felt like our lives continued but in a cabin surrounded by forest rather than buildings. Me and my boyfriend have been working and living in New York City for many years, and were looking for a quiet getaway to recharge and do some hiking. The road to the cabin was so special - the views were exactly what we were hoping. Thank you Donna for the wonderful cabin! I felt like I was at home the entire time.

Cozy Place

Dancing Bear
The cabin is beautiful and fully equipped. We loved the open floor plan of the livingroom and kitchen/dining area, and appreciated use of the wood stove on chilly nights. There are numerous hiking trails nearby and the little town of Nederland offered several great dining options. If you're looking for a mountain retreat, we highly recommend Dancing Bear!

Nice Cabin in the woods
The cabin borders on some very nice trails through the forest that we enjoyed. It was very clean and well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Communication with hosts was good. The cabin is between the towns of Nederland and Black Hawk and about 20 minutes from either place. The altitude is pretty high and we weren’t used to it so that made getting food a bit of a chore but other than that all was good!

Beautiful Cabin
We celebrated my husband's birthday for a week at this beautiful, peaceful cabin. We brought along our fur babies and they absolutely loved the snow. We dinned and explored the nearby cities Nederland and Central City. We took the dogs to trails in Boulder, Breckenridge, Nederland and Colorado Springs. It was a great vacation. The cabin was clean, peaceful and the snow made it so much prettier. We cannot wait to stay again!

Best Time in Colorado!
Dancing Bear was perfect for our family Christmas getaway. Immaculate, homey, close to all the things we wanted to do: hiking, snowboarding at Eldora, great food for takeout in Nederland. Donna is so thoughtful and accommodating - she set up a Christmas tree for us and answered all our questions immediately. Away from it all, but with tv, internet, wifi and movies. All appliances worked perfectly, no problems with anything. Plus our family of six was very comfortable in the queen beds and pull out couch. Beds are cozy and soft, even the pullout. Thanks for the stay, we will be back!

Lovely time with family in the mountains
Beautiful property, exactly as listed if not better. We spent a quiet weekend cooking and hanging out on the deck. The kitchen was perfect for making nice meals with family. The rooms were warm and cozy and overall the place was very comfortable. The owners communication was on point and they responded to all of our needs promptly. We never left the property it was the perfect size to enjoy the snow and relax without responsibilities. Would highly recommend!

Mountain Solitude
Such a lovely cabin/house! Highlights for us include a kitchen with plenty of cookware and a nice big refrigerator, very comfortable bed, good laundry setup, very useful outdoor shed with lots of equipment to assist you in various outdoor activities. The WIFI was reliable. The little neighborhood was extremely quiet at night, maybe as quiet as I’ve ever experienced, and great for stargazing. The cabin has a surprising amount of space. Communication with the owner was very good. All in all we loved our stay and would recommend this place to anyone!

Cozy Getaway
The property is exactly as pictured. I took my daughter and her friends for her 16th birthday. The girls loved it, and the owner made it even more special by leaving a few things to say happy birthday.

Gateway to heaven
We had an amazing stay at your wonderful cabin. It was even better than shown in the pictures! We made daily trips in the surrounding area and the aspens fall foliage was unbelievably beautiful. Had a trip to Estes Park and the Stanley Hotel and had a challenging ride in our Jeep up the Pickle Gulch Jeep trail. Such amazing views up there!! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!!
