We have been using VRBO for over 30 years and never once did we encounter the problems we did in his house and the management. Our first clue should have been that we were not given the correct code to unlock the door to gain entry. We soon discovered the disposal did not work, the washing machine would only work on hot water which took a week to fix and there wasn't a screen on the glass sliding door in the dining room. The final blow was the refrigerator and deep freeze went out spoiling all the food. We decided we needed to leave as their repairs were never attended to quickly and we needed a place to keep food from spoiling. The management refused to compensate us for the time remaining on our stay or compensation for lost food. In our early dealing with them which was by text they said VRBO was involved and they would check with them and they refused to accept our phone calls. Finally VRBO told us that they would not make any compensation for our loss.

A nice vacation spot if you dont break any rules.

The hosts of this Vrbo keep strict rules and do not compromise. We wanted to check in a little earlier than required. This property had a very late checkin time. Long flight and long drive in the mountains, meant we had to find the place close to dark, when its cold out. Host said flat out "No". Asked if we could check out after 11am, host said "No". Host asked us to help with keeping the pipes from freezing by regulating the water and temperatures, which we did. Host sent lots of auto messages reminding us of the various rules we needed to follow. Hosts boast of a peaceful and serene mountain retreat where you can "relax and renew". In reality, there are houses all around and guests are informed to keep quiet, dont make any noise, so the neighbors are not alerted. This was not a relaxing stay.

Little weekend getaway

The location was incredibly convenient, just a short drive from Eldora, making it perfect for our family ski trip. After a long day on the slopes, we loved relaxing in the hot tub—it was the ideal way to unwind. The full kitchen was also a huge plus; it allowed us to prepare meals together and enjoy family time. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy getaway!

Cozy Weekend Getaway

We had a cozy, relaxing and peaceful winter weekend getaway from the city at the cabin. The wood burning stove was great and the spa was nice in the snow. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. The listing is correct about the driveway. If you don't have a 4WD with good tires and it's snowy and icy, which it was during our stay, you have to park at the top. We didn't have a problem, but anyone with physical limitations or hesitations should not walk down the driveway when it's snowy and icy. There are no hand rails and it would be very difficult unloading or loading your car. Our host was very responsive and communicative. Someone came and shoveled off the whole parking area, driveway, and decks. I would recommend staying at this cabin for relaxation and peacefulness. I think the decks would be great in the summer!

Great mountain getaway!

This cabin had it all! Great location, nice amenities, a hot tub, and beautiful views. The sunrise and moonrise from the back porch were particularly stunning, as was the night sky full of stars. We also loved that all the things we wanted to do were within an hour’s drive or less (fun hiking, snow tubing, train rides, and breweries). The owners were extremely prompt in returning messages as well.

Great star gazing experience

Quick spontaneous trip to do some star gazing. This place was perfect. Exactly as advertised and instructions were very clear and helpful during our stay. I would recommend to anyone that wants to get out of the city. We will definitely be looking to stay again for more extended hiking trips in the area.

A nice getaway!

A cozy, relaxing, and simple home with a nice view. We really enjoyed the wood stove that had great instructions and well stocked with logs, both inside and outside. The jacuzzi was both clean and warm. Gilpin is truly a gem. We had breakfast right down the street at the last shot both mornings and it was great. Also a quick drive to Boulder Canyon and Boulder Creek. Netherland is also close. We were very pleased and look forward to returning.

Amazing cabin!!

This cabin was amazing my wife and I enjoyed staying in there for a week. The atmosphere and style is something that can't be described with words it needs to be experienced, the property manager was very helpful the owners really takes good care of the property, wealso like the eco friendly from the natural hand soap to the shampoos and body wash, we highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to connect with nature and spend quality time together.

Enjoyed the cabin and hot tub, just wish we could have enjoyed it more. We were too busy visiting the area and exploring Rocky National Park. We will definitley come back to the area and rent the same beautiful cabin.

Labor Day Get Away

I rented the house over Labor Day weekend to do some hiking in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The house is located less than 15 minutes from the park and has a gorgeous view of Tremont Mountain from the back deck. I especially enjoyed soaking in the hot tub with a beautiful mountain view after a long day of hiking. The house was also very clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for our stay.

Simple, quiet with an amazing view! WOW!!

Wonderful property manager with prompt responses on little things that made us extra comfy. The cabin was peaceful, clean and the view was breathtaking! We loved the fact that the casinos and good food were only a short drive away. We stopped at a place not far from the cabin called "The last shot" and they had a beautiful dog, Cheeka, who greeted us at the front door. It was also a nice atmosphere and good food. Our family enjoyed the Father's Day getaway and look forward to coming next year! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
