Nearby Bishops Castle, Clun and Church Stretton are ’Walkers are Welcome’ towns, and have a variety of marked walks and leaflets. There are several National Trust and English Heritage properties and gardens within easy driving distance, as well as an eclectic mix of independent shops in Shrewsbury. If your hungry after all the exploring, try the hearty food in the nearby pubs, seek out the local tea shops, peruse the farmers’ markets, head to Ludlow for fine fayre or pop over the Welsh border for ice cream made fresh on a farm, or just treat yourself to a relaxing night in.
