We arrived in Birmingham after a very long delay at Ibiza airport (we live in Ibiza) we didn't arrive at the hotel until almost 4am. two black gentlemen checked us in who were excellent, polite helpful and the check in was prompt and trouble free. The following morning after just 3 hours at the hotel there was a gentleman stood with the receptionist. He said could he help and we requested a cup of coffee and tea and some toast (we do not eat breakfast)He said toast was only served with breakfast so if we booked breakfast we could have toast? I then requested a croissant and he gave us the same reply these are only served with breakfast etc etc. We then requested a tea and coffee if we coulden't have food so he told us to take a seat. We watched him talking with a colleague in the serving area and after 25 minutes waiting without serving we left - NOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSIOIN of the Birmingham IBIS where we would not go again nor recommend it.

They didn’t answer the phone for days before, we arrived at 2 am , upgraded apparently. No towels or bedding for my daughter even though room booked for three people. When bedding arrived , I had to make bed myself. The bedding was double set for a tiny camp bed.

A good option if u have a early morning flight ,, beats kicking around the airport for hours waiting 4 early flight , would have had a meal in restaurant,, but they seemed to be short staffed so something in the airport instead ,, would use again .

Um where to start, I know this is a budget hotel but paid £280 for 2 nights and wish I booked somewhere else, firstly I sent a request to the hotel 2 weeks before and never got a reply. Room:- tiny, no separate bathroom, no locks on the toilet door, bed you get 1 flimsy pillow each, the dirt on the skirting boards was disgusting. No tea and coffee in the room, you had to go to a whole other floor if you wanted a drink. No hairdryer and no option to borrow one from reception. Staff were ok at best not very welcoming and felt rushed to get you out the way, when handing keys back not once asked if we enjoyed our stay. Also we put a do not disturb sign on our door and this was ignored! We ordered food on the second night and for what we paid the standard wasn’t great, drinks are expensive if it’s non alcoholic. Around the hotel there isn’t any local shop, we had to walk to the NEC to get what we needed. The only plus side is where it’s based if you are going to the NEC or the airport. Would never book this hotel again, and would book for the city centre as more for you money and cheaper.

The shower pressure was excellent. The rooms definately budget but just what you need for a night before early flight. Restaurant bar area on site good. And parking opposite (at a charge)

My daughter forgot her toothbrush and the host at the front desk gave her a complementary one. We also did not have a hairdryer in our room and he provided one for us to use. Small room, clean and was just what we needed for a one night stay.

Very close to the airport, just minutes away. Only stayed for couple hours, checked in late and checked out early to catch the plane from England to Spain.

I was very impressed how quickly and polite the staff where at booking in ,the service of free tea and coffee was an excellent idea ,the room was spotless and the toilet and shower room very clean ,in all excellent value for money

O had to proof each time what my room number was and my name because each time coming in and out of the airport i had to get the card reactivated and it was a pain so it needs to be better organised on that sense.

Rooms weren’t cleaned to a good standards. Would have expected better given the priced paid for the room's. Convenient to airport. Easy check in. Food was pricey but it was good. As it is at the airport expected it would be expensive.

Whilst the staff at the property in person were welcoming, actually getting hold of anyone to help prior to the stay was impossible. The facilities in the room were basic but fine. The fact that parts of the room had not been properly cleaned was not. At the price that was charged, the room fell short of expectations.

My review relates to the almost impossible way Expedia prevents you from cancelling a booking. Tried to cancel within the time period stated, system would not recognise my itinerary number and/or email address. Followed the procedure carefully, no mistakes and still could not make the cancellation. Now charged for a night which was not required. A refund would be helpful.

Difficult to walk to IBIS hotel from Birmingham international train station as not sign posted. Mattress was very soft.

This may be a budget hotel but the rooms was spotless and staff were very professional and sociable. The restaurant was excellent especially the quality of the breakfast.

Very small and efficient unit. Beds were cosy and comfortable. Easy access to Airport. 5 minute walk.

Didnt expect too much but even still disappointingly tiny room and common areas crowded, could not get seats. The price was much higher then previously so no longer a good deal compared to the nearby hilton. Will probably not use in future.

I was poisoned. As a celiac , I have to have gluten free food and drink. After the meal I became very ill. I firmly believe I was given a non gluten free meal. I have sent in a complaint to IBIS Hotels

The hotel was situated conveniently for Birmingham airport. The booking was easy to complete, staff were helpful. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been useful.

It’s a budget hotel so you only get what you pay for …..whitewash walls in room, beds ok , clean sheets , good towels , excellent shower…..no tea facilities in room , very small tv but it worked ……..if it’s just a bed then it’s fine …..overall no complaints will stay again …..

Really helpful staff
After the initial problem of not finding my booking, which was because the system just hadn't updated its self. All was good. In fact the staff couldn't do enough to help when i had left my wallet in my room and gone through baggage check in the airport.
