We booked this condo because there was limited options in the village with a kitchen at a reasonable price for a weeklong ski vacation with the kids.
The good -
- Super convenient location, this condo is in Shoshone, which is connected to the Huntley lodge, which is right in the village. Getting the kids to ski school and access to the slopes was very easy
- Layout and 2 full bathrooms made the one bedroom very comfortable space-wise for a family of 4
- Great views from the unit
- Indoor hot-tub that links to the outdoor pool
- If you have a late departing flight, you can pay for 4:00pm check-out which was very useful
The Bad -
- The unit is fairly dirty, but the real issue is that the sheets hadn't been changed when we arrived. We got in fairly late and just wanted to get the kids in bed so they could be rested for ski school the next morning. When I pulled the comfortable back on the master bed, I noticed some body hairs on the sheets. After a more thorough investigation, found lots of hair all over the bed, which was really disgusting. Wish I could post pics. I called / texted management and they insisted the sheets were changed. Finally, they agreed to come and change it. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect clean sheets, but management didn't think so and wouldn't give a full or partial refund of the cleaning fee.
- Related to the poor housekeeping, the unit didn't have soap or shampoos when we arrived. When the property manager showed up to change the sheets, she did bring some with her
- In terms of service, the night manager couldn't have cared less about our issues. She simply told me they didn't know or weren't able to do anything. Luckily, I was able to reach the property manager to resolve the issues.
- Lack of responsiveness leading up to our stay. Completely unresponsive to any emails. My wife called repeatedly and finally got through after many tries and voice messages.
- Check-out procedure basically requires us to clean the unit. Dishes, wipe down counters and tables, etc. What's the cleaning fee for? Probably explains the dirtiness since they expect the guests to do most of the housekeeping.
- Parking is not convenient. Its outdoor, located through an underground tunnel and then you have to walk down a level. They didn't plow the lot and if we didn't have 4-wheel drive, I probably would not have gotten into a space. It's also very full.
