We had a fabulous time here! It was quiet and cozy, and had everything we needed for our stay and more. The view was fantastic to wake up to everyday, and we very much enjoyed the outdoor space. Had a fun afternoon on the pedal boat. The house was very clean. Thank you for an incredible stay!

Place was fantastic. Everything we could have needed was there. Check in was super easy and quick. Use of the garage was nice to store extra things we brought. Enjoyed playing board games each night with the fam. Would book again!

The lake house was beautiful, cozy and the perfect finale to our summer vacation. Everything was so neat, clean and homey. We fished, canoed, went swimming, visited the farmers market and just hung out. The kids loved the dock and the cute chair swing in the dining room. The husband and I appreciated the relaxing vibe of the place and the amenities.Perfection!100% will recommend or stay again!

My family of four (two boys 9 and 7) spent Monday-Friday and had a great time. The home is bigger than the photos make it seem - the bedrooms are large and the living space is plenty for 4-6 people. The home was very clean, the hosts were extremely responsive, and they have every water toy you could possibly imagine. Highly recommended the farmers market on Wednesdays as well as the ice cream shop (The Frozen Spoon). We would definitely stay again!

2nd Stay.. hope to visit again

Nice location, clean, well-equipped kitchen. Great views of the lake both inside and out. We just needed some extended time to relax… and we had everything we needed. The owners, Patrick and Anna, are friendly, and readily available to answer questions if needed. We loved Willies on the Water, Frozen Scoop for ice cream, and visiting the nearby wildlife preserve where we saw many birds. We brought our bikes and the owners told us about a nearby bike path that we enjoyed. We decided not to bring our boat this trip, but appreciate that there is dock space available for guests.

Great Stay

We had a fantastic time. We are two quilting ladies, and the cabin was very spacious with open concept which made it easy for us to set up our quilting stations. Everything was clean and worked well. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cabin.

Holiday Getaway

Great place to sneak away to during the holidays! Giant TV and comfy couch to watch the holiday classics and a giant dining room table to do puzzles and play board games! I had a little bit of a hiccup with the lock when I arrived since it was new, but I received immediate responses so it wasn't an issue. Thinking about bringing the family during the summer next year!

Exactly what I was looking for

This lakeside spot is just what I wanted, and will probably be what you want to! The house is all yours, REALLY all yours and not "all yours but also the owner lives upstairs and grandma lives in the basement". It was truly private! The backyard is huge and the lake access is amazing. My spouse and I sat by the lake for hours and it was the first time I've felt relaxation in years ;) It's beautiful! The house itself has lovely modern interiors, but is very comfortable. Big couches, the sleep number bed is a treat. Check in was easy, communication was easy, highly recommended!

Perfect Getaway

I would absolutely recommend Sunset Retreat for your family getaway. I stayed at the house with my husband, children and mom and we all had a wonderful time. The house was clean and beautiful. So many fun activities for my kids to do. They swam all day and had fires in the mornings and evenings. It was wonderful! We all feel so refreshed after our weekend trip to Big Lake!

Amazing weekend in Big Lake!

Even though the weather wasn’t the best, we had a great time. The location was perfect & there was something to do for everyone. Patrick & Anna were very communicative providing excellent suggestions for local things to do & places to visit. We would definitely stay again!!

Property was well maintained and updated. Hosts responded quickly to any questions I had. Property manager was very friendly and helpful during our stay The lake was clear and had a nice sandy beach for our kids to play on, I would definitely stay here again!
