Although the park is nice and the facilities are nice at the campground, the campsites are too close together and it is crowded. I don’t recommend camping there, especially during the scooter weekends. People rev their engines all day and speed through the park with no regard for others. One guy was cleaning his engine and spraying some kind of strong solvent into the air. Multiple fires are burning all day long and the air is constantly thick with smoke - not just from the fires but cigarettes too. There was NO fresh air. The “beach” is more like a ditch with some sand. Hiking trails are nice and park is otherwise very well-maintained. Probably would only recommend going for hiking or a picnic, or for the triathlon. Don’t camp there if you want fresh air, peace and quiet because you won’t get any.
