Family trip

Was a nice family trip. I love the gas fireplace and couch close to the kitchen area. My kids enjoyed the hockey game upstairs and the beds were comfy to rest. Very quiet and relaxing location. Close to zoo, to supermarket. Starbucks and the lake if you want to go for a walk.

Beautiful space but with less room than advertised

Beautiful cabin, great location, plenty of amenities (grill, games, hot tub!). There was one fewer bed than listed online, so the property comfortably slept 8 adults, not 10. In addition, there was only room for one car. With fewer people involved, I would stay there again.

Very steep stairs

We did not realize how steep the stairs were and it was very difficult getting all of the baby equipment up into the house with the stairs. No one had a good sleep because all of the beds were very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. We will not be returning.

Peaceful Getaway

Our family had a great time during our stay at Monterey Manor. The kids loved the games and layout of the house. They were very entertained. The view and neighborhood was beautiful, especially this time of year. There were plenty of useful items in the house that we did not think yo bring ourselves. There are many steps throughout, but that wasn't an issue for our bunch. It is a very spacious place. We had a very peaceful and fun time just hanging out. We would love to stay again. It was enjoyable and peaceful.

From Kids to Grammy, Amazing Stay.

This house is fantastic. Loved the ability to park both Truck and Jeep in the garage, and that the owner or Management company has plowing service for the driveway. Loved that all TV have Roku. The kitchen was well equipped and wait until you see the bathrooms (jet tubs). The beds were amazing with an extra layer of memory foam. The house has more games than we have seen in any other home, great for kids, family fun, great memories. Destination Big Bear, the management company, were easy to work with, super responsive, and accommodating. We highly recommend this house and Destination Big Bear management company. Thank you.

Labor Day Get Away

This is a very spacious and cozy cabin. It is located in a beautiful wooded area and near the city as well. We enjoyed the gorgeous balcony view day and night! We experienced some unfortunate issues during our stay and since then have resolved those issues with Destination Big Bear's resolution team. I would not recommend this cabin to those with walking impairments/joint pain because it has three floors. My parents were with us and it was very difficult for them to get in. Bringing in everyone's luggage was a hassle. A lot of steps to go through. There is no wheelchair ramp access.

Everything breaking

Today was the last day of our vacation, but we still didn’t see anybody come to repair our jacuzzi. It never worked since our occupation day. We saw our neighbors enjoining their jacuzzi these beautiful winter days and feel bad for ourselves. We rented this property specifically for the jacuzzi! We even told the owners about the jacuzzi not working and sadly no one came. (We stayed for a whole week) Additionally, our two upstairs bedrooms had very creaky beds so we had to remove the mattresses to the floor so that we could sleep comfortably! Also we faced dishwasher failure and we had an appliance technician repair it for $275. But we had to pay for it. Combining all loses and inconveniences (jacuzzi, dishwasher repair, beds, toilet paper, towels, entry key, detergent and soap, top floor firewood is also nonfunctional, lose kitchenwares) We are asking them for some type of refund! And they are not replying. That’s why I’m leaving a bad review!

Had a great stay and experience but was disappointed on the inaccuracy of the allowable occupancy. The site explicitly said that the property could accommodate 12 “people”, which was perfect, because there were TWELVE of us. A week before we were set to go I received a message saying we could only have “10” adults and “2” children. Thankfully other accommodations were able to be made, but this should really be something that is made transparent BEFORE booking, and should not be mentioned only one week before the actual stay. Aside from that little hiccup, everything else was great and was very happy with the accommodations.

Great roomy house

A nice retreat from the realities of the pandemic!

What a great way to get away with the kids (and pooch! - which is another added bonus to this awesome house)! Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space while cozy in all the right places to eat together, watch movies, and enjoy the hot tub! Unlike 2020 in general, I highly recommend this home away from home!!

The location was great, very clean and comfortable.

The kitchen needs more of everything, silverware, bowls, pots and pans, dish towels. It was difficult to cook with the limited kitchen items. There was nine of us and only silverware for ten. We enjoyed the cabin but cooking was hard.

Big bear cabin

The house is advertised as a 5 bedroom and there are only four bedrooms, I had to explain that to my guests when we arrived there. On the day we checked out I had to drive around town with the garbage in my car trying to find the dumpster. I think that service should be provided since i received a charge for cleaning.
