So many misleading things about this property.
I’ll explain the positives first- nicely redone bathrooms and comfortable family room and kitchen.
Now to The negatives...
The first is the map. This property is closer to Snow Summit than Bear Mountain. Second- Destination Big Bear employees who run this location are terrible. Check in was difficult with rude woman behind counter then text that sent us to wrong area of town. Third- downstairs room is freezing, small floor heater that barely works and in snow storm, basically ice box.
Fourth - Jacuzzi won't go over 87 degrees and place just never felt that clean.
Fifth -WIFI is a joke, be prepared to have no service for a week.
Lastly - - On our final night, Approximatly 9:30 pm. I get knock on door from Destination Big Bear employee. Says we have too many cars in driveway. (BTW) House clearly is marked (4) cars and Max 10 occupancy on outside of porch. (as all Rentals are in this area) Mind you, We have 3 cars and 7 family members. They tell me contract has changed and only allowed 2 cars. I tell them check out is 10 hrs away, have kids getting ready for bed and its 22 degrees outside and this is news to me. They say neighbors are allowed to call in and decide if too many cars are at property. This is never really explained but lady on employees phone standing at the door is insistent. (Again, this was on our 4th night there). Nevertheless, says Im subject to a fine and possibly more if they come have to come back again.
End result, I follow the guy to a parking lot 2 miles away at 10:00 pm at night and have to leave one of our vehicles.
I Call the next morning to discuss this with the manager as I noticed other rentals have three vehicles. It was a very short hostile conversation as the woman at Destination Big Bear who answered was as rude as any person Ive come across in 50 years.
This has me rethinking about Visiting Big Bear in the future and will never rent from Destination Big Bear again.
