Destination Big Bear was a great host. Granted us early access and a late departure, no question. The house was good, it fit our family of 10 adults, two kids and one big dog. The outside ambience was lacking due to the lake remaining low. We tried to use the Jacuzzi but after 4 hours of heating it, it only rose to 97 degrees.

60th Birthday Celebration

My husband and I travel to Big Bear every year. This year we celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday and celebrated his big day with family and friends. The property was beautiful, close to town, and it had so many wonderful amenities to choose from. Everyone who stayed loved the property. Thank you for making this such a memorable birthday weekend. Nice house

The house was nice and accommodated our entire party. The rooms were a pretty good size. The home definitely had the “rustic cabin” vibes that we were looking for. The toiletries were sparse, and we supplied most of our own soap, paper towels, lotion, etc. The listing said check in was 3pm, but they got us in closer to 4pm.

Room for everyone

Great space for everyone in the family. Water pressure and temp were spot on in the showers. The hot tub was clean and huge! With the drought situation the cabin is definitely not lake front property. Gourmet Kitchen was not set up for cooking. Missing hot pads, dish towels, salad/mixing bowels. We rationed bath towels and toilet paper. We had great family time with a group of 10 adults and two young children and our family dog.

Great weekend with friends

Property was even better in person than the photos. Perfect for our group of 8 friends and 1 dog. Plenty of room for everyone to hang out together or do their own thing. Yard was perfect to let the dog play too. Look forward to coming back!

Excellent Find!

This property was a great find for our group of 13. All of the couples enjoyed having their own bedrooms and there were plenty of games and activities to keep everyone entertained. The hot tub was massive and there was plenty of space for people to hang out both inside and outside the house. My only critique is that the master bedroom did not have any sort of curtain or light blocking shade and the morning sun woke us up very early and did little to block any heat. Otherwise this place was awesome!

Great house with a few minor issues

First, I would like to say that we had a great family vacation! The house was clean and all lights were working perfectly. The house is situated walking distance to the marina, which is perfect for a pontoon boat rental. It was quiet and our kids couldn't hear any noise from downstairs while they slept in their bedrooms. Overall, I would consider staying here again. There were a few things to note, which I informed management about. One of the bathroom showers didn't get any hot water. Although we were able to get the TV's to work, they were a bit tricky to figure out. It's important to note that the master bedroom has no window treatments. My husband enjoyed the lake view during the night and morning, I need complete darkness ;) The windows face East, so you won't be able to sleep past 5:30AM. And you'll have to dress in the bathroom for privacy. Lastly, we saw a mouse in the kitchen run under the island. Not sure how or when the mouse got in the house but hopefully management will take care of this issue.

Perfect for a large family

This is our second time renting this home. Lots of room for families to spread out. Very comfortable and a great location. I would definitely recommend this home.

Lovely house in great location

The house is enormous and in fair condition. It was well equipped although we were told it had a Keurig and it doesn’t. The spa was clean and overall the house was clean but the pool table should be in retirement, the felt was torn and pockets had been mended and some needing mending. It had napkins stuffed under some of the legs. Really it isn’t usable. Also, one of the bar stools was too woobly to use. One of the showers was slow to drain. And it was in great need of a thorough dusting. For the cost per night, I guess I had higher hopes. Also when we booked the booking confirmation gave a check-in time of 3, out at 11, but when DBB sent the check in instructions the times were then 4/10. I called about early check in three times and sent an email but could not get thru to a live person or get a response.

House is beautiful but not taken care outside was dirty and windows dirty hardly see thru them lots

Really enjoyed the home love it great for our family they just need to clean especially windows can’t see the pretty view. Needs some repairs but overall I rent it again lots of cob webs so lots of spiders

Great trip with family

This property is very nice. The movie room was a hit with our kids and the property was spacious. The hot tub is enormous and the views our great. The only two things we would say about the property are 1) at current time there is no direct lake access (not sure if lake is usually higher) and 2) the master bedroom could use some curtains as it was extremely bright in the early morning. Otherwise this was a fantastic stay.

Poorly Maintained

While this could have been a nice home, it is poorly maintained. We had to call the property manager several times for different items (which they did try to correct promptly). Problems included a smelly refrigerator (ice maker did not work), leaking propane regulator at barbecue (lighter did not work either), many burnt out lights throughout house, no shades on Master bdrm slider (don't try to sleep in), the hot tub was not clean, had broken air adjustments, and there were non-working jets. There is no AC (or it did not work) so if you get a warm stretch of weather (as we did) the upstairs bedrooms (all are upstairs) won't cool down very well. The house allows pets and you can smell that when you first walk in. We knew the lake level is low and that water is not up to the property but thought it may still be a pleasant view - it wasn't really; you mostly see the marina and don't look out over the lake.
