We had a fabulous time at Bear Lake Hideaway! It was very cozy and charming and though small, even our 6'2'' friend found the ceilings and showers fine. It is also extremely well insulated. It was stocked with some basic essentials but there were a few items we would have expected that weren't available, like measuring cups, extra paper towels, extra trash bags, tape, superglue, and first aid items. The first aid kit had only gauze, though we donated a few band-aids. We also bought and left extra paper towels, trash bags, and WD40 which was needed on some doors and cabinets. The main issue was the hot tub, which to be clear, does seem to work as intended, but the instructions for use were insufficient. We used the hot tub on night 1 and it was lovely, but we displaced a fair bit of water. When we tried to use it again on the last night (unbothered by the displaced water, since it should have been enough for us still), we found that the water was cold because the level wasn't high enough to engage the heating element. By then, it was too late to do much about it, but I wish we had been warned about this in the instructions and that there were directions on how to refill it.

Cleanliness was poor - carpet very dirty: laundry in dryer we had to fold and put away towels : everything creaked / wobbled that you sat in . The rail on stairs which are really steep also wobbled . We loved the jacuzzi though which made up for the rest - the location nice . The cabin is just really in need of care It has great appeal if it were taken care of

When we arrived there was poop in the downstairs toilet, a lot of dust a webs, wanted to wash dishes but nothing there but a used sponge with hair on it,( under sink was flooded) bathtub upstairs was not clean had old soap stuck to tub and it wouldn’t drain. Downstairs was super cute but upstairs was creepy and not designed for anyone over 5’7 we barely fit on the bed and in shower.

Cabin was super cute and very walkable to the lake and village area. I loved the bedroom upstairs with the door open to hear the sounds of nature. Lots of utensils and things in the kitchen to cook your own food too.

The property is perfectly located about 5 mins away from everything in big bear. The cabin feels like you're staying at grandpa's old duck hunting/ bird watching cabin depending on the type of grandpa you had. Thier are a few damaged items from what i assumed where previous guests but, nothing major. We only spent time in the cabin when we were sleeping or getting ready as we were always out and I think this cabin is perfect for that.

Perfect for a quick getaway

Everything was exactly how it was represented online. Communication was great and the hosts made our stay super simple. The upstairs was hot during the day but cool at night with the balcony door and windows open. The cabin seemed to be built for smaller people, as I am 6'4 and had to bend down in the shower and watch my head upstairs.

Nice little cabin at Big Bear Lake. It was a little darker and smaller than we were expecting, based on the photos, but probably standard for an actual log cabin. My sisters and I were comfortable during our stay. It was located close to shopping and restaurants, as well as places to go walking or hiking. We had a couple of minor issues, but the owners were quick to respond.

Ok. Really outdated and not the cleanest.

Good location. Ton of dirt and debris under couch cushions. Place smelled like bacon because it looks like a wipe down v. a true cleaning. BBQ was overflowing with ash and same for the containers for ash. Not sure how it gets a 9.6 rating. 7.0 maybe a better description.

Cute and Close to Snow Summit

We came up for a quick stay so my son could go snowboarding. The house was cute and quaint. It suited the 3 of us well. Only bummer is I didn't realize there weren't closets in the bedrooms, but with our short stay it didn't affect us too much. The upstairs balcony was great for stepping out and watching the snow fall. We were lucky enough to get some snowfall while we were there. It was also great how close and easy it was to get back and forth from Snow Summit.
