Clean and cozy

My family and I had the best time. The house was very clean and stocked full of kitchen and bathroom items. It was also very cozy. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing escape

This cabin is lovely and clean and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The owner was easy to reach and very helpful. Easy access to walking trails was a bonus. The bunk room is best suited to small children.

Family Thanksgiving trip to Big Bear

Great Place for Two Families

We had such a great experience staying at this property! We drove in during a storm and you definitely need 4x4 AND chains to get up to the house. But once you are there it’s an all inclusive experience! We played in the snow, went sledding on the hill right next to the house and built a snowman! The kitchen was good size and had all the amenities you would need, we loved using the BBQ right outside on the deck! The kids room even had two large bins of toys, perfect for our young kids to build a huge train track! The host was very communicative, even as she was traveling herself! Would definitely recommend this place!

Highly Recommend!!!

The cabin is beautiful, parking spacious (usually an issue when it comes to renting in big bear), view amazing. The guests and children I invited had a wonderful and relaxing time. VERY TIDY & CLEAN. The host was very communicative and helpful. Will be renting this cabin again in the future! ❤

Great cabin

Stayed at this awesome cabin with my family. Our first time at Big Bear. Cabin had amazing views, spacious, fully equipped. Place looks like on pictures. Perfect location near activities and stores. Communication was easy and quick. Would stay here again.

Family Snow Visit

This home is tucked away in a beautiful mountain neighborhood just a short drive down to Big Bear Blvd and all that you need or might want to visit. I took a family of five up to see and experience the Snow! The property has an ample back and side yard perfect for adventure and Snowman building. The home was super comfortable with everything one could possibly need and oriented to children with games, dishes, kids bunk room and cozy blankets and sheets. The large living dining area was so nice to spread out in and enjoy each other and the beautiful setting. We Loved our stay!

Christmas family vacation

Our extended family stayed at this beautiful cabin in a winter wonderland over the Christmas holiday. The views were beautiful, the fireplace as cozy as can be, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked (the kitchen knives need to be sharpened). Great fixtures, very updated and very clean! One issue we had was the sound of the water pump. I communicated this with the hostess and though it wasn’t resolved, hopefully that is something the owners can fix. Something I felt should be reflected in the listing is a requirement of a car with 4x4 or AWD during the winter. We drove an SUV and a minivan. We had chains and tighteners, but neither car had AWD or 4x4. And we great had difficulty getting up and down Moonridge (the cabin is at the very top of Moonridge) given the weather. We ended up having to cut our stay short because more snow and ice was predicted and we didn’t want to get stuck. If we had a 4x4, it wouldn’t be a problem at all. So if I had known that this really made a big difference, I wouldn’t have booked this particular location. And unfortunately we lost money as a result. That said, the cabin and location is amazing, so we just have to get a 4x4 vehicle next time. Obviously this wouldn’t be an issue in the other seasons. The hostess was amazing at communicating, which was very helpful! Overall, we had a great stay.

Great cabin!

Cabin was CLEAN, spacious, and had all of the amenities of home. Loved that there were good knives to use for cooking!!! Owner was kind, helpful, and communicative before, during, and after our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful and cozy stay!

My family had a wonderful stay! The furnishings and property were very clean, cozy yet roomy. The lovely kitchen was open and had plenty of counter space for preparing meals. We all slept comfortably in the beds. We were never too cold as the heater was in great working order and the fireplace made it extra special. The windows all around the home gave amazing views of the mountains, snowy hills and surrounding neighborhood. We enjoyed sledding in the side and front yard. Yes, even the adults! We took walks in the neighborhood which felt safe and somewhat secluded. Great location! We didn’t ever watch tv because there is so much beauty to look at. We had absolutely no complaints as it was perfect for our family. We would love to go back and will be recommending to other family and friends!

Excellent property

We rented this property for the weekend the property is very clean ,has a lot of games for kids to play we love the location. The kids had an amazing time playing with the snow. The owner Chrissy was very helpful and very nice every time I text her she responded right away . We will stay here again . I really recommend this property

Perfect House

Our stay at Upper Moonridge was fabulous! The home was clean, the beds and bedding were comfy (which is a plus for tired parents who need a good nights sleep), the kitchen was equipped with everything you could need and the open concept family room/kitchen made the home feel BIG and fun to enjoy. I loved the new touches of the new remodel with the rustic cabin vibe. The home is close to the main town (10mins), but far enough away to feel like your living in the mountains. There is a awesome trail just around the corner and the home has beautiful views! We would all stay here again! The owner was very easy to reach out too and very communicative! Check in and Check out was super easy and we came in contact with no one, which is a plus for those who worry about the virus. I hate renting through rental agency's so renting through the owner usually makes for a better stay and a well cared for home. This house definitely shows that! Thank you Chrissy - Cant wait to come back again soon!

We had a great experience with this house and trip.

Overall everything was fine besides the stairway and driveway. The driveway was not clear and there was snow everywhere. The stairs were covered in snow and we slipped a couple of times. The fireplace was also an issue, it wasn’t working. Other than that, everything else was great.

Fabulous weekend!

We just got back from a three night stay at "Get out of dodge lodge" in Big Bear and it was absolutely fabulous! The house is immaculate ( which is very important to us ) and the modern decor is both elegant and comfortable with big bear charm. The kitchen was an entertainers dream! Fully stocked with everything you'd need to cook a gourmet meal. The living room was so comfortable with enough seating for a family of six to gather around the fireplace and watch movies. They have netflix on both TV's which was really great for our family with 3 teenagers. The property is very secluded perched on a hill surrounded by woods and breathtaking views. Get out of dodge lodge is the nicest rental property we've booked in Big Bear. We can't wait to go back!

Time To Get Away and Play

My brother and I have been doing annual surfing trips for decades. This time we decided to switch it up and head for the mountains. Big Bear Lake has something for everybody from watersports to snow sports to hiking and biking. The Get Away From Dodge Lodge feels like you are deep in the woods yet it is just minutes away from all the prime locations for activities in the area. Nestled in the upper reaches of Moonridge, the newly renovated house is super clean and set up for a relaxed and fun visit of any length....but I can tell you right now that you will not want to leave! The owner Chrissy is a delight to work with and very helpful in every step of the process. We scored some great Fall weather on this trip but I can't wait to get back up there with the rest of my family to experience the place with a light dusting of snow on it - picture perfect I would say!

High end hotel amenities in a beautiful, updated cabin with incredible views

I've been renting cabins in Big Bear for most of my live (avid snowboarder) and I can say without question that the Get Out of Dodge Lodge is the nicest cabin I've ever stayed in. It's newly renovated, with modern high end touches throughout, and all the conveniences I would hope for - and beyond. From the nice coffee maker, to the lamps with USB plugs on the night stands, to the smart Samsung TVs, lightning fast WiFi and cable television access. My wife loved it because it was clean, full of natural light, had an open floor plan, and had a huge, fully stocked kitchen that made us feel right at home. The dining room and living room open up to beautiful views, as does the 500+ square foot deck. This trip was just the two of us, but after seeing the bunk room with the tv, Nintendo and tons of toys, we'll definitely be bringing our kids with us the next time we come. I can't recommend this cabin and its friendly hosts enough.
