"We had a wonderful stay at Strawhouse Resort. The property is beautiful, with the cafe and patio along the river. Good pizza and coffee roasted on site. Amazing hospitality from Don, Julia and all the Strawhouse team. We stayed in the yurt. What a fun experience. It was cozy and well appointed. This area along the Trinity River is so beautiful. "

"The guests that we met on property were awesome including the people they checked us in and worked the property. The property and cabin needed work. Lots of holes throughout mosquito netting. Most light switches and outlets didn’t work. Fridge didn’t work. Shower had hot water that lasted 5 mins. Futon in living was so wrapped and worn that just sitting on it gave you back pain. "Very clean and beautiful structure. The pictures on the site make you think you will have a river view and maybe even be able to walk out to the river. That is not real. It’s a short hike or a drive to the river. Not a huge deal but we were a bit surprised. The fireplace smokes up the entire home. We turned off the the heat and it still did it. Fireplace is beautiful and heated the room but smoke was everywhere!!! Other than that, I would stay there again!"

"This was a peaceful and rejuvenating stay. Lisa was a great host! The hot tub was so nice. Loved all the outdoor seating and the location. Deer coming and going and the river is a short walking distance away. Lisa has stocked the place with cornhole and other yard games. Perfect get away!"

"Great property, nice little hide-away. Enjoyed doing some fishing and hanging out with friends around the fire pit. No need to go anywhere but relax by the river. House was clean and welcoming (including a nice bottle of wine to enjoy). Close to home and perfect for a quick get-away. Thank you!"

"This place is a little piece of heaven. We had such a great relaxing stay and enjoyed swimming in the lap pool, fishing and gold paaning at the river. The river access was a short walk from the pool house to a beautiful sandy beach with deep swimming hole. The kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed cooking on the unique stove.
