Tranquility

Perfect peaceful getaway. Community pool and the rec center were ideal. Close to the various beaches. House has alot of space, decorated nicely and the kitchen has everything needed.

Rooms were comfortable The great room accommodated our large family. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans. Two refrigerators are a huge plus.

80th birthday celebration

The upstairs had 4 bedroom 3 full bathrooms The downstairs had 2 bedroom 2 full bathrooms the downstairs also had a den with 2 sleeper sofas and a door to close for privacy and the family room had additional sleeper sofas and a door that could be closed for privacy. The kitchen and laundry room were on the first floor. The size of the house was great for a large group The over all location was nice and quiet in a clean and well maintained neighborhood. The kids enjoyed the pool.We flew in a night early and Nancy was able to allowed us check in a night early so that was nice of her There were extra towel sheets pillows and blankets in every closet

Beautiful Property

The is home very colonial. Large rooms and well equipped to handle large family gatherings. The home is well stocked up with required stuff - kitchen, toileteries, etc. Very close to Bethany beach, which was great. Lot of food options around this place and supermarket is couple of minutes from the property. The checkin and checkout process was very smooth. There was no commincation need with the owner.

Big house!

We had plenty of room for our extended family group. Large table for 17 of us was lovely. Nancie's special paper goods and seasonal decorations added celebratory atmosphere. Only caution is that there are plenty of places for little children to place their treasured items, making them hard to find later!

A Happy Thanksgiving

This property was perfect for our very large family group celebrating Thanksgiving at the beach! It was a pleasure dealing with the owner. She was welcoming from the first communication! The house was decorated for the holiday and had everything we needed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for 20 people. It was a lovely neighborhood close to a hiking path and we were able to use the community center for swimming which was great for the kids.

Perfect for a big group with lots of kids

The home is very well equipped. There's probably at least 2 of everything. They layout of the rooms and beds works well for a large group traveling with about 10 kids and about 10 adults. The great room is spacious and comfortable. The development has many activities, and the rental even came with beach parking passes. The location, being right by Hockers, is convenient. It's not elegant, it's practical. For a group with many kids, that equals less stress, which is just what we wanted on vacation.

Good Location, Poor Cleanliness for the Price

The home is in a good location, and the check-in process was smooth. The owner also provides supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, spices, coffee, and trash bags, which was convenient.That said, the property could benefit from more thorough preparation between guests. The furnishings and finishes are dated, and the furniture shows its age. We noticed dust and dirt in several areas, including under furniture, where our toddlers also found small items left behind from previous stays. We also came across a used water bottle in one bedroom and what appeared to be used personal care items in another. One of the air filters we checked was very dirty.Given the substantial cleaning fee, the level of cleanliness did not meet expectations. In addition, guests are expected to make all beds upon arrival and to strip beds and wash sheets and towels at the end of the stay. The home is also quite full of décor, which makes the space feel crowded.With a deep cleaning, air filter replacement, some decluttering, and updates to furnishings, this property could be much more comfortable for future guests.

Convenient and spacious

This house worked out very well for us for our family thanksgiving.. Nancie even decorated the enormous dining room table with Thanksgiving things! There was tons of room - the main family/living room had lots of couches and the huge table sat 12 people with chairs to spare. Plenty of room to spread out, with doors between kitchen, living and office/2nd living room space so people can enjoy whatever suits their mood. A bit cold to use the outdoor patio space, but lots of seating out there which would have been great in the summer time. The number of dishes, blankets and pillows was enough for an army, and we were able to fit 6 cars in the driveway. The grocery store plaza is super convenient.. it's right at the entrance to the community, less than 2 minutes drive away down nice quiet roads that you could easily walk on. There's a small gas station there and a pizza place as well. The walkability is exceptionally high - the community is quiet and pleasant, and right next to the grocery store plaza is the nice wide sidewalk for convenient walking, running, biking and more to the local preserves. Definitely enjoyed our time here.

Space for extended family - peaceful neighborhood - easy drive to beach

Traveled with extended family. There were 16 of us with 6 children and five couples. This home is at the end of a quiet cul de sac in a private community. Not right on the beach, but we prefer quieter off the beaten path. Enough space for everyone and enough bathrooms even with teens involved. The floors turned our bare feet black, but otherwise the cleanliness was ok - especially for a beach house - we attempted to keep the sand swept up during our stay, but it does spread. Enough towels and kitchen stuff for everyone. Having two refrigerators is a life saver. We LOVED the large table in the great room that allowed the whole family to enjoy mealtime together. Wifi is ok in the great room end of the house, but very sketchy in the bedrooms with constant drops and low speed - but we used this as an excuse to be more unplugged. We also couldn't get the cable to work on all the TVs, but made due with adequate service on huge great room TV. Some of the beds are at the end of their lifespan - probably should be replaced as they were lumpy and sagging even with memory foam toppers - we managed to rest well in spite of it, but certainly should be addressed in the short term. We visited Fenwick Island Beach, Bethany Beach Boardwalk and the Delaware State Seashore Park. The Delaware state beach was BY FAR our favorite. Less crowded, large bathrooms and showers, awesome waves, snack bar for munchies, space to spread out as long as we walked further down the beach. For a quick 10 minute drive, it was so worth it for the memories. We saw dolphins, seals, turtles, pelicans, and also military and Coast Guard training going on. The Boardwalk is interesting to walk on in the evening - but VERY busy and the parking is a zoo. The Salt Pond Community Pool was our favorite in the off times - it's large and clean and was easy to access with the provided key fobs. We also had members of our party play tennis, pickle ball and golf (including renting clubs) - much enjoyed. Biking around the community is enjoyable and we saw a bunch of wildlife and discovered the Salt Pond Beach. Hackers grocery is literally at the entrance to the Salt Pond Community and is a well stocked reasonably priced family owned grocery. Royal Farms at a mile away has great coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts.

We had a wonderful week at The Salt Pond. Great location and amenities. I would recommend and rent again. The house is a little dated but it met all our needs.

Review of 730 Fox Tail Bethany Beach

We were a family of 20. There was ample room in the house for all of us and we did not feel crowded. There were ample plates, cups, glasses and silver ware so we didn’t need to use paper and plastic supplies. There were plenty of sheets and towels, but we brought some of our own to be sure all were washed and put away by the check out time. There was plenty for the family to do at the site, swimming, tennis, pickle ball, golf and shuffleboard. Beaches were a short drives away. We enjoyed our week there.

Great location but messy house

Nancie's house is in a lovely community with an olympic size pool, tennis courts, baseball hoop, golf course, snack shack, and a safe environment for kids to ride bikes, roller blade or walk. It is close to Delaware State beach which was our favorite beach as well as Bethany Beach and the boardwalk and shops. There are walking trails also. My grandkids loved the location and swan in the pool nightly.The house is big and has plenty of beds for everyone. There are many TVs so everyone can enjoy their own shows. However the house was not clean when we got there. The bathrooms were clean but the rugs appeared unvaccumed and pieces of food were on the rugs. I vacuumed when we got there. The house has way too many things. There are so many plates, glasses, bowls, silverware all over and it is chaotic to find and put things away. Each room has way too many unnecessary things making it difficult to enjoy. I would encourage the owner to clean out the house and repaint everything. That being said we had a great week and didn't spend a lot of time in the house. The price was right so you decide if this is a house for you.

Did not meet expectations

The home has a great layout for a large family gathering, however like other guests have noted, the cleaning company is doing a disservice to the property owner. Upon arrival the house was not clean. The floors were very dirty, could not have been mopped, there were cobwebs is most corners, and dirt under objects in the kitchen such as the dish strainer and coffee maker. The air quality was also very poor and upon investigation we noticed the air filters for the HVAC system are extremely dirty and in need of replacement. This actually caused some pretty serious allergic reactions for our guests. The home was also in some disrepair, cracking drywall, poor patchwork and painting, you can notice where they used two different colors of paint on walls instead of repainting the entire wall. The description was also misleading as there are only 6 total bedrooms. 4 upstairs, not 5 as the listing suggests. The bedroom upstairs with only 1 set of bunk beds does not exist. Unfortunately for us this trip was planned only a few months in advance and large houses were hard to locate on such short notice. The house served its purpose once we mopped the floors ourselves but will not be back.

Great place but the bed situation needs an upgrade

Great place but the mattresses are all very soft and the requirement to wash and dry all sheets before you check out at 10 am is strange.. the beds are all odd size so not way to bring your own sheets and have them fit. please invest in an extra set of sheets nd have the cleaner throw them in. plenty of time between check out at 10 am check in at 3pm to do sheets.

Nice location but house needs a good cleaning and decluttering

When we arrived at the property at the 3 pm check in time we quite shocked to see how dirty the house was. Floors with crumbs, spit in the sink, crumbs on the table. Several calls were made to the property owner and finally a mother daughter team showed up to clean, They did vacuum and mop but this house really needs a good cleaning head to toe, They were there less than 2 hours which is impossible to clean a house of this size. There are cobwebs in the corners and the carpets, floors and cabinets really need a deeper clean. The location and size of the house is good, but the air conditioning does not work well. The upstairs gets very cold but the family room was always hot. The wifi only works well on one end of the house. Having rented houses for over 30 years for our family, this was probably the dirtiest house we had ever stayed in. There are ample dishes, silverware and pans but everything is just stacked in cabinets with no real organization. The community pool is nice and it is a short drive to the beach.. Thankfully we had nice weather and our time at the house was just for meals and sleeping. We made the most of it , but for the cost we were disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the house. I am certain we left the house cleaner than when we arrived.

Great for large groups

We booked this property for a family reunion at the beach. As noted in other reviews, this house has been well loved over the years. That being said, our larger group had a very comfortable stay. Seven families each had their own room with a TV in each room. Five full bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, etc. to accommodate cooking for a large group. 2 grills. 2 coffee makers. 2 refrigerators. Fantastic dining table where we could all eat together. Outdoor seating in a wooded backyard. Loads of towels and linens. Ample parking at the house for 7 cars. Beautiful neighborhood with a fabulous pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had a fantastic time.

We enjoyed the stay

We (four families ) stayed here for the labor day long weekend and enjoyed our stay . The house is big with all the amenities which was great thought we carried ours as well not knowing what to expect. After reading the first review we were worried and wanted to cancel as well specially cause of covid . The landscaping was done as requested . The beach is very near - like a 5 minute drive . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will get any to come back again next year. Will recommend .
