Beautiful property, beautiful farm and great old House. Farm store right next by was great also. However, no TV in our room and the TV downstairs wasn’t working, also no WiFi at all. I understand getting away from it all in the beautiful country, but to have no internet was disappointing. The breakfast was made and left in fridge before we arrived. It was a tasty plate of cold cuts, fruit , cheeses. A nice hot breakfast featuring eggs and meats from their farm would have been a lot more fun. There is a great assortment of snacks, sweets and beverages throughout the home so you never go hungry.

Its gorgeous place in the middle of nowhere. I recommend it to everyone looking for peace and quiet to stay. Great breakfast! Close to wineries, breweries and hiking trails!

Great place for a relaxing weekend. There is no staff in the premises, but everything worked out just fine. A nice and delicious breakfast was left in the refrigerator and one had everything that was needed. Beautiful historic building, ample rooms and wonderful surroundings.

Great weekend escape
What a nice get away place from the city busy life. The charcuterie plate is a new-ish breakfast offering. Apparently they changed from a truly wonderful colonial/British hot breakfast to the plating. I’m truly mixed on the offering as I was at first skeptical of it. However, the next morning I explored it with an open mind and it hit the spot. Yogurt was fantastic, the mix of fruit is nice, hard boiled egg, great cheese, and meats. It was delightful, Yes, I did miss the hot breakfast but this was surprisingly great. Every detail is executed perfectly. This is a place one should choose first and simply enjoy.

Cute Historic Home...felt very welcoming loved being able to explore the farm. They made your stay extremely pleasant eith continental breakfast in the room and little treats downstairs. Bonus was the opportunity to buy their farm made products in their store on property

Absolutely lovely stay. Everything is clean, fresh, and well kept. Plenty of things to do in the area and on the grounds. Friendly owners and fresh Breakfasts. Would definitely love to return some day.

Honeymoon retreat
Exquisitely Beautiful and was the perfect honeymoon get-away. The romance package was a great add-on. Every is freshly made and Friendly family. The little store is in a nice, convenient location. The Wellford Room was a perfect choice for us with a en-suite bathroom.

Far above excellent
A really nice stay. I normally do not stay at bed and breakfasts, but this experience I raised the bar and met every potential expectation. The breakfast was over the top. The rooms take you back to colonial times with modern amenities, with grace and style. This experience was a great weekend get away. For me, I would have preferred scones with jam and clotted cream vs the buttermilk biscuit. It was still grand, and just a personal preference. Again, an amazing stay.

Charming and quiet stay on the farm
We loved our stay at Smithfield Farm B&B. The hosts were friendly and breakfast was spectacular. The bedroom and bathroom were very large and the bed was superbly comfortable. Highlight was watching the cows and sheep in the pastures.

Excellent bed and breakfast! We highly recommend and plan to return. Betsy, the Inn keeper, thought of everything. With our late arrival, she had hot tea, cookies, candy and snacks waiting for us. The Smithfield property is an organic farm so breakfast consisted of fresh eggs, honey, and ham from the farm. Betsy served fresh biscuits, with homemade jam... The rooms are large, comfortable and beautiful. We highly recommend Smithfield Farm B&B!

We stayed in the Summer Kitchen Cottage. It’s very cute and very quiet with lots of interested decorative items. I don’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues. To get to the bedroom and bathroom, there’s a narrow winding staircase. The owners are very friendly and the breakfast is nice.

Beautiful home and property. Very inviting and tranquil setting. Great place to reacquaint with the south and friends. Breakfast was delish! History from host was enthralling! Twin oaks tavern and winery nearby was great fun!

Incredible accommodations in a 200 year old family homestead. Peaceful and beautiful setting with friendly and knowledgeable hosts.Will definitely stay here again when visiting the Lucketts Spring Fair.

We deeply enjoyed this historic family farm for our stay. The service was genuine and thoughtful, the property is breathtaking, and every detail has been considered. We loved our breakfasts made from scratch each morning, most of the ingredients sourced right from this working farm. The hosts are gracious and welcoming and the stay was absolutely remarkable. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this B&B and we will absolutely be staying here again.

Charming old farmhouse! Only a short distance from the city, yet, the feel of being miles and centuries away. A very gracious host greeted us and explained the history of the family, the house and the land. Breakfast, mde from scratch biscuits, a unique egg dish, and fresh fruit started the day. It was a lovely experience.

Great B&B!
We stayed here for our wedding night. It was about 10 minutes from where we had our wedding ceremony and reception (at Whitehall Estate). The location is beautiful. The room was excellent. The bathroom was huge and the clawfoot tub was wonderful. We wanted to stay longer! The staff were friendly to us and welcoming. They were very accommodating as well. Since we were not arriving to the B&B till very late at night, they agreed to delay breakfast for us till later in the morning which we appreciated.

A relaxing working farm house with great people
We stayed at the Smithfield Farm B&B for our 35th anniversary. The place is a real working farm in a very comforting environment. Our room was magnificent and the innkeepers were simply charming. I'm not sure why the rating for this B&B was a 3 Star rating but it really have a 5 Star rating. Extremely clean with wonderful furnishing throughout the home. We will definitely be back.

Farm Bed and Breakfast
I loved staying at this bed and breakfast. It is located on a 400 acre farm and my husband and I got up early and walked the farm before breakfast. There are trails that are well marked to follow. The breakfast was delicious.

A hidden gem!
Thank you, Ruth and Betsy! I wish our long weekend lasted a bit longer - we loved the renovated house, all the meals that you prepared from literally farm-fresh ingredients, and the chairs next to the creek.

My wife and I had a blast. Ruth and Betsy were fabulous hostesses, the food was great, our room was superb, and we had great fun roaming 400 acres of farmland with cows, sheep, hogs, chickens and a wonderful variety of birds.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast
We stayed for 2 nights at the Smithfield Farm Bed and Breakfast.The location is perfect. The property is on a very large farm, peaceful and quiet, so it feels like you're gotten away from home. But it's only a short drive north to Harper's Ferry for hiking, site-seeing, river sports, etc. And only a short drive east to Leesburg for restaurants and outlet shopping. Ruth, the owner was delightful. She made arrangements for our late check-in, prepared and served incredible farm-fresh breakfasts. We didn't meet her daughter Betsy who helped out but heard she is equally delightful! We stayed in the English Garden Suite. It's huge! Two large comfortable bedrooms, sitting room, and full kitchen. Exceptional clean and beautifully furnished. Not as well lit as the upstairs rooms but this was expected as it is in the basement. The basement with its additional separate entrance/exit does have the advantage of being more secluded and private. We loved staying there! We highly recommend this B&B and look forward to coming back here in the future! Michael and Anna
