Activities:
Thalasso or golf? Swimming or cycling? A meal out or a barbecue? Exploring or simply relaxing? All options are open to you. At the mouth of ‘the prettiest river in France’, the bay and its large beach await you. You can enjoy an active holiday or simply savour the laid-back lifestyle of a seaside resort on the Breton Riviera, which has been awarded the highly coveted ‘tourist resort’ status.
Just 17 km from Quimper, a City of Art and History and the capital of King Gradlon, with its narrow streets and half-timbered houses protected by 1,500 metres of ramparts. The neighbouring towns, within a 25 km radius, evoke a rich economic and cultural history: Locronan, which has remained unchanged since the heyday of the Breton textile industry; Concarneau and its 15th-century walled town, reinforced by Vauban; Pont-Aven, the town of painters where Gauguin once stayed; and Le Guilvinec, France’s leading port for small-scale fishing.
Offshore lies the Glénans archipelago, famous for its lagoon with turquoise waters.
At the very tip of the land (“Pen ar bed” in Breton), the Pointe du Raz, battered by westerly winds and the high swells from the open sea
