This was a great place to stay! It was very clean and was a great location. The host was helpful and responsive. The layout it makes it the perfect for two couples or families. We appreciated having a pet friendly place to stay.

Very nice, clean place to stay while skiing at Schuss. There were 6 of us, and we were very comfortable. There is a shuttle that will drive you to over to Schuss mountain, which worked very well for us. We didn't have to worry about parking, and could come and go as we pleased.We loved being able to have a fire in the fire place, it made the space very cozy. They were good about having plenty of things in the kitchen for cooking- even sharp knives (which tends to be a challenge for rentals, in my experience, lol!). Would definitely stay here again.

Family Get Together

This property is not updated. Huge stains on carpet in the master. The sofa and loveseat are so old or so cheap or both that you fall into an abyss when you sit on them. The other family room furniture is beyond its life. We literally put a cushion on a cushion so you won’t sink so low. I tried to grab an extra blanket on a chilly night and that had huge stains also. Yuk. The motif is hunter hangout, which is tolerable, but for over 300 a night? Never again for us. The upside is if the owners would just update the furniture, remove the stained carpet and ensure it is really clean it would have tremendous potential. It is a nice spice for 4 adults and 2-3 kids.

Amazing

Top notch, from the time we booked to the time we checked out the communication was outstanding. The condo is in a great location and very spacious and clean. It was nice to come home from skiing and have a fire. We will definitely be booking again.

Cousins Trip

We had our annual cousins trip & there were 4 couples in our 20’s 30’s. The VRBO was SO perfect for our trip! It was SO nice having the resorts amenities and the resort was so nice with such beautiful views!!! Location was perfect!! It was everything we wanted!! Highly recommend! The place was cozy!

Family Ski

Unfortunately the place was not cleaned properly upon our arrival. Master bedroom bed was slept in and not made up. Master bathroom had towels on floor. Guest bedroom - one of the beds was slept in and not changed from prior guests. Guest bathroom had towels on floor, so it was not cleaned. Property manager sent cleaning crew over so we left for 2 hours. Came back and the beds were made with the same sheets so we stripped the beds and got the clean sheets from the closet, well hope they were clean and made the beds up ourselves. After that the trip was better but to start like that and not even get offered a late check out was disappointing.

Ultimately was fine

Our summer family vacation this year took us to Northern Michigan with the main motivation being spending a day in Mackinac Island. In not being overly familiar with the area, we chose to stay at Shanty Creek Resort based on a friend’s recommendation who was familiar with the area. To summarize, the accommodations were ultimately fine and met our needs. The resort is ultimately fine but old and outdated and likely more hopping during ski season then golf season. Dining options on site are limited, golfers would enjoy the five courses on site although was a bit disappointed with condition of the courses for being an “Award Winning Golf Resort.” The condo itself was ultimately as advertised and met our needs, a bit old like the resort but not a deal breaker and the price was fair for what it was. The kids loved the tennis courts out the back door and fun to watch the golfers tee off on hole #1 of the Summit. The only hiccup which ultimately worked out with the temps being mild, was upon checkin the AC was not working properly in which my call to the owner was first basically met with “I’m sorry, that’s the best I can do.” After a little more conversation, she did line up maintenance to check it out but the soonest she could get them there was Thursday (checked in on Monday). Had the temps been in the 90’s that would not have met expectations. All in all, the place met our needs and we had a good trip.

Just what this family needed.

Golf tees out of the back windows, tennis courts 50 yards away, the pool, bar, restaurants are all less than 200 yards away. Place was excellent and just waht this family ordered. Thank you for a great place to stay.

Nice get away!

We were "Up North" for some wine tasting and wandering. This condo has a beautiful location and great outdoor space (even though it was a big chilly when we were there). We watched some golfers and some wildlife. Great spot for a couple of couples to spend a weekend!

Enjoyed the fireplace….

Cozy condo for the fall. This was a relatively last minute booking for us and we needed a dog friendly place too. We enjoyed the fireplace. Condo was clean but carpet was very spotted. Kitchen was well equipped but pots needed the be replaced as the Teflon was very worn off. Also some food residue in one of them. Master bath had some mold in and around the shower track and in general needed some professional updating, as it looked like the flooring was repaired with multiple colors of grout and had a hole in the corner. Master bedspread had a funky smell and a small spot on it. Condo was well located in the facility and near many small towns for dining. Rental agency was easy to work with and condo check in was easy.

Color Tour Getaway

The property fits the Shanty Creek resort vibe well. It is not fancy or pretentious, rather it is warm and comfy. The bed in the master suite had a perfect firm but not too firm mattress, and everything about the place was clean and inviting. We have stayed at this property twice and will stay there again.

Anniversary getaway

Overall the property was nice. It is not handicapped or barrier free. We were informed that there were only two small steps in front, however this was not the case. If you are wheelchair dependent this property is not for you. The pool areas are not wheelchair accessible either, however there is a pool lift with no battery so what's the point! It's fine for young families with kids, lots to do. I wouldn't suggest elderly with gait issues as there are many steps everywhere. Wood boards are loose in front of property and need to be repaired. The towns surrounding the property were fun to visit. The resort restaurants in the shopping area had good food and live music 🎶 which was fun. Overall we had a nice time, just a lot of work with accessibility needs not met.

End of summer vacay

Overall very nice, few little inconveniences like figuring out tv remotes and how they work and there is a feedback on the tv that was kinda annoying but we didn’t watch that much tv! Place was spacious and clean, neighbors above were noisy as was the dishwasher so don’t run at night before bed! Beach access was nice and enjoyed time with our friends down there. Short walk to playground area was nice for my younger kids.

Something for everyone!

Our 8 year old grandson and his mother loved the pool and the tennis courts and the pizza! Husband and son enjoyed the golf course. Grandma liked sitting on the balcony and reading. The location was great. We all enjoyed a drive to Petosky. The kitchen was well equipped. Very satisfied with our stay.

Nice Larger Condo

Nice larger condo for our small family 2 adults and 2 children. Clean and quiet location on a golf course, nice view from the deck, no mosquitos and everything was there that was needed for our stay. Very nice to have the washer/dryer available. The kids enjoyed having VCR movie tapes available to watch, they had never used VCR tapes before. Everything was in working order. The condo doesn't have it's own wifi, but the resort wifi worked fine for streaming, we just brought our own fire tv stick to plugin to the TV for streaming and that worked well.

Amazing location within the resort. Close to great dining options and the indoor and outdoor pools.

We had a great time. Don’t miss the sunset from the outdoor pool that overlooks Lake Bellaire. The location of the condo was perfect!
