The apartment is in an old (historic) house and is equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Belfast is a little hilly but very walkable including the harbor walk and rail trail. We took in a movie at Colonial Theatre only 2 blocks away. A small, quirky place that’s been upgraded for a modern movie experience. We used this spot as a base for visiting the mid coast from Camden to Acadia/Bar Harbor. It was perfect at a perfect time of year. A great treat was a lobster roll from the Lobster Pound across the bridge.

Cute Apartment on the Hill

A cute, small apartment within walking distance of shops and the harbor. Perfect location for those who want to visit nearby towns and parks (Camden, Acadia, Bar Harbor, etc) without staying in a super touristy location. Overall a great place to stay!

Recommendation

We did not realize until we had paid our final payment and were then sent the information on check-in that the unit was on the second floor. We would not have booked this particular unit if we had known that as we are both elderly, 83 and 86 and stairs are very difficult for us to climb. I think the ad for this unit should have mentioned this. The unit itself was very old, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. We never did meet our host.

downtown property

Cute property very clean. The Hilltop Hideaway is on the second floor there will be stairs. Property manager was very responsive to my text. The bedroom was smaller than the pictures indicated. The bed could have been more comfortable. One other thing. The listing stated there was a washer/dryer it me a moment to see where it was. It was on the first floor in the room behind the stairs.

Liked the room. Liked the location. Parking was in a lot next to the building. I would suggest reading instructions and looking on Google maps at the satellite image of building and the bingo place. Made it very simple to see before we made the drive.

Highy recommended

I had a great time here. Centrally located, great for walks, cafés, shopping, supermarket, parking. It is a charming and comfortable apartment, specially for one person. The kitchen comes with all you need for basic cooking. It is quiet and has lots of light. The mattress and pillows are great and the sheets and towels are soft. The host is very accessible and puts in the effort for things to go well, such as providing nice amenities. I would rent again and highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Belfast.

Best features: I have back issues, bed, chairs, and a choice of fluffy or flat pillows were great. Open windows to fresh Maine air was a boon ( air conditioner for short time ) Quiet days and nights Fun walk to boardwalk and shops Great bakery next door with coffee!
