  • Traditional Welsh cottage, enviable location right on the sea shore where at certain times the waves lap on the patio walls!. 3 steps to entrance.

    Ground Floor:

    Kitchen: Electric Cooker, Range, Microwave, Slow Cooker, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine

    Bedroom 1: 2 x Single (2ft 6in) Beds

    First Floor:

    Bedroom 2: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

    Bedroom 3: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

    Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Fuel for wood burner available locally. Stairgate. Outbuilding with toilet. Garden with patio and garden furniture. Private parking for cars and boat trailer. No smoking. Please note: Accessed by a rough track. There is a drop in the garden.. Blue Sails (ref JPV) is a traditional Welsh holiday cottage with its own garden enjoying a magnificent setting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, right on the seashore, with waves sometimes lapping against the patio walls, and glorious views of Puffin Island and Snowdonia. The Beach House (ref OHM) lies in a secluded setting, with direct access to the beach (via a few steps) and panoramic views across the Menai Straits to the Snowdonia mountains. This single-storey Scandinavian-style pine lodge is set to the right of Blue Sails. It has a large garden (not fully enclosed) and visitors may enjoy sightings of many species of seabirds, porpoises and even the occasional seal.

    Beaumaris (2 miles), a World Heritage Site, is Anglesey’s most attractive town; it has a castle, boat trips to Puffin Island, water sports facilities, shops, restaurants and excellent inns.Bangor 8 miles. Beach 1 mile.

    These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests.

Blue Sails is a great place to relax.

Blue Sails is a great place to relax. Excellent owners. Our only issue is with the Sand Fleas. These come out at about 5pm and if you don't have doors and windows shut you'll spend your time squatting them inside. These are the only reason that will put us off going back. There were 1000s of the little buggars and they jump all over the patio, grass, house. The back of the property also needs an outside light but I think that this may attract more of the little nippers! Overall a great place. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Fantastic location.

Fantastic location. Unfortunately we had to return home earlier than expected due to unforeseen circumstances. The owners were absolutely brilliant. The cottage is full of character. The large lounge, from which we saw sea lions on the 1st day, is absolutely fabulous. A very special place to which we hope to return. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We had a fabulous week at Blue Sails.

We had a fabulous week at Blue Sails. The views are just spectacular, and such a treat to wake up on the beach. Some of the decorative touches had been removed, as had information on the local area due to covid-19 but this was understandable. The property worked well for 3 generations - grandparents, plus our family of 4, and we enjoyed kayaking from the house and walks and bike rides in the Beaumaris area as well as further afield, and were even lucky enough to spot dolphins near the lighthouse. Blue sails is the Perfect place to stay.Excellent location, surrounding area is fabulous. So much do, if you can tear yourself away from that view. My personal feeling is a little update to the decor,not that it bothered me but that property could be Superb.

We had an amazing week away and the weather was excellent. The only thing I will say is that I think there should have been some sun loungers as there was in the photo when we booked. Also a few more basic food items in the kitchen, ie oil, pepper, more than 2 dishwasher tablets. slight niggles only but will know for next year

Been coming here for 14 years off; and on , no more weekend bookings is no good to me , in all that time they put a new bathroom in as old one was past it , other than that it’s never had anything done to make it more modern same old furniture that’s uncomfortable and old , yet more rules and regulations in all I doubt I’ll book blue sails again the only thing this cottage has ever had going for it is the beautiful views and location , the double bed am sure it’s never been changed it felt like a bunch of children had used it for a trampoline , it’s a lot of money for just the view and beach , without the weather here it is a depressing stay , even the tv is too small the cottage needs a full restoration including furniture & fittings it’s a cash cow that is losing its appeal

Yet again a peaceful stay at quirky Blue Sails. Weather was poor but it doesn’t really matter because the location is so perfect and there is now WiFi ! Cottage was spotless. Even though it allows pets there was no smell of dogs. To gain maximum benefit from the cottage I would like to make a suggestion. Have you considered getting rid of the two uncomfortable bunk beds ( which are very small) and putting 2 comfortable single beds in what is now the dining room and putting a dining table and chairs where the bunk beds are? Thanks for a lovely stay and a very helpful caretaker.

We’ve been to Blue Sails on and off for many years because of the fantastic location. Without a doubt the cottage needs WiFi and a second television in one of the bedrooms... the weather isn’t guaranteed and the second television/dvd would allow children to play on PlayStations etc or watch a dvd if you cannot get out. My husband needed WiFi connection because he needed to keep in touch with work and we’d brought our Amazon firestick as we knew the weather would most probably raining (which it was). You’re paying for the location... which is lovely but needs updating.
