"After a very long drive we arrived in this lovely oasis in the middle of nowhere. The owners did an amazing job at turning this 500 year old house into a warm and homely place. Hamish and Tara, the easy-going owners, made us feel welcome and were always ready with tips or advice about the local area, including a great tip on a local winery. I definitely recommend going there with friends or family. Thanks for a lovely time Hamish and Tara!"

"The drive out into the countryside is well worth the effort. We stayed in the two bedroom gite and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The gite is spacious and has a lovely gravel patio area in front with great views of the countryside. It was warm, so we were able to sit outside for meals, reading and watching nature and the occasional boat passing on the canal. "We visited Chateau des Louteaux for my partners 40th as a group of 20 adults (mainly couples) and it was an amazing stay. To start the photos do not do the property justice, it's truly breathtaking! Plenty of room for everyone to have their own private space as well as group activities and dining. The property is decorated with wonderful antique furniture and lots of interesting trinkets. Caroline, the housekeeper, was lovely and gave us a full tour of the Chateau on arrival and was on hand for...

"The property did not live up to expectations. Cleanliness was not up to standard by quite a long way. Kitchen equipment was rather poor and overall the kitchen fittings and appliances were somewhat tired. The garden felt rather neglected. A great shame as the situation and area were lovely and offered some lovely cycling along the canal. Despite the problems we had a peaceful and realxing stay. Needs some serious upgrading, ie handrail on stairs and very steep step into washing machine room....

"Es war ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub. Haus und Grundstück perfekt, sehr diskrete Gastgeber. Dass die Lage abgelegen ist, wussten wir logischerweise vorher. Wer also viel Tourismus und Rummel sucht ist hier falsch. Aber Erholung, Ruhe, Natur und der nächtliche Sternenhimmel sind garantiert. Alle wichtigen Geschäfte sind im Umkreis von 10km. Im Haus fehlt es an Nichts. Absolut zu empfehlen"

"De woning is authentiek en voldeed aan de verwachtingen. Het comfort is basic maar alles om een ontspannen vakantie te hebben is aanwezig. Het zwembad is een dikke surplus! De streek is rustig maar in de dorpjes en steden rondom valt weinig te beleven."
