I have never met such a bad host. They didn't tell us the WiFi password, nor did we have any means
I have never met such a bad host. They didn't tell us the WiFi password, nor did we have any means of contact to ask the hosts. We found the house frozen and the walls full of spider webs. Old and dirty bed linen. I do not recommend this house to anyone

We are sorry we had to ask you to leave. You were 2 hours later than check-out time and we needed to prepare the cabin for our incoming guests. Not sure why you had problems with accessing wifi when all the instructions were emailed to you the minute you finalized your reservation.

Remote Rest Stop
Very nice home and setup. If isolation is what you’re searching for, this is it. Snow could pose a problem for access in the winter. It’d be great for a summer getaway or week.

When we have snow, it is the most beautiful time of year. Roads are cleared quickly. Driveway is plowed immediatley.

We enjoyed our stay; however, host knit picked us for 25.00 to stack more wood in fire ring from yard 35 feet away. Worn furnishings, lampshades, dust and debris under beds and sofas. Broken baseboard in basement, dirty seat cushions in dining room; no hot tub as advertised.

Restacking wood provided for the enjoyment of our guests is clearly part of the rental agreement. This has never been a problem for any of our guests, as we encourage all to leave the cabin in the condition they find it so all may enjoy their time to the fullest!

Anniversary trip
We were so pleasantly surprised with this property. It was everything that it was pictured to be. Nestled in the woods close to the river off the beaten track. There is plenty of space and the kitchen is well appointed. We love walking through the woods down to the river, and it was quite lovely to have firewood at our disposal. We would love to rent this property again.

Quiet Cabin in the wood.
It was a quiet cabin in the woods. A little off the beaten path but if your looking for a quiet get away this is the place. There are a couple of good restaurants in the area. Cabin was very clean and well equipped. No TV but the Wi-Fi was very good to watch your shows on a laptop or tablet. Had a very restful week.

Blissful Retreat
What a wonderful place! My partner & I loved the Knoll! The house was cozy, and the porch was perfect to watch hummingbirds. We also saw three eagles from the deck on the river. The nearby town of Narrowsburg is quaint, and we enjoyed everything about our stay. I would love to see it in the fall too. We'll be back!

Perfect
The house and property are amazing. The house itself was everything we needed, with an updated kitchen and bathroom and was clean throughout. The property is so much better than we could have ever asked for. My kids loved racing through the woods and over the numerous bridges, playing in the tree house, and especially playing by the water. They caught toads on the paths and pointed out frogs each time we crossed the bridge. The deck overlooking the river was the perfect place for us to relax on the rocking Adirondack chairs. It is so private while also enjoying an amazing view of the water. The water itself was the highlight for me. The family spent days out of the river in the canoe and kayaks that came with the house. The fishing was awesome right in front of the property. An added bonus was the pair of bald eagles that spent their days in a tree right across the river from the deck and often flew right over head as we were on the boat. Truly something I will never forget. There were so many little touches that will keep us coming back to this house. The ring game on the porch, the fairy princess castle were highlights for the kids. Cannot wait to plan our next trip here.

Perfectly peaceful place. Great for quality time with the family.
We loved the chest of classic games on our rainy day. We loved the sound of the stream outside our window at night. The bugs were not bad at all! Which was an original concern of mine. Neither was the heat! We did have to use the fans provided to air it out upon arrival and before bed each night. We loved the porch and read lots of books we found. We loved the fire pit and used it every night. The privacy was so peaceful. The walk down to the river deck and back was lovely. The kids loved the tree house too. I will say, the walk down to the actual water was a bit sketchy but totally doable. Just a bit difficult to get the boats back up with out some help. Our only complaint was the basement. It was very stale air and the smell knocked us over every time we had to go there to use the washer and dryer. It was definitely not an area we were able to utilize for anything other than laundry.

What a wonderful stay!
Our family had the most wonderful stay here! Dog friendly was such a great accommodation for my Shepard and jack russell. My 5 year old, husband and myself enjoyed every moment at the cabin. It is truly secluded and the the views at the river are stunning. The river is clear and so beautiful to swim/kayak in, which we did all 4 days we stayed. The walkthroughs to get there are so fun for the kiddos and myself! The house has no AC, but you truly do not need it, as the house stays extremely cool with the windows open, and at night with fans , feels like the AC is on. The house is filled with games and fun things for the kids to do and my little girl enjoyed playing with the wooden fairy doll house everyday and of course climbing the bunk beds, but spent most of our time back and fourth to the river. The fire pit is awesome and unlimited wood makes for fires and s'mores everyday, which we did! I could go on and on about this stay as it truly was a wonderful trip! The Knoll is forever etched in our hearts as our names are in the back wooden table with all the other guests that have come through. What an experience we won't forget!

Summer Getaway
My dad, dog and I enjoyed our stay at The Knoll. The property was easy to locate and was secluded under a canopy of trees. We saw a bald eagle every day of our stay and enjoyed the nature. We were looking forward to kayaking however getting the kayaks down to the river maybe not be feasible for those with disabilities. Unfortunately that was one of the main reasons we chose this property and we just couldn’t figure out a safe way to make it down to the river. Future guests, please understand that the trails down to the river are slippery, steep, and can be unforgiving for those with handicaps or disabilities. The wood bridges are dangerous too, we experienced a fall on our first day. However this property would be amazing for those with abled bodies and children. There’s a cute creek with frogs/roads and a tree house. There was more than enough wood to burn in the fireplace and we are thankful to the hosts for providing us all basic necessities that we needed.

Wonderful week in the woods
We come and stay at The Knoll for a week in May every year, this was our 6th time I believe. It’s always such a lovely time. Our 5 year old really had an amazing time this visit. Running around and exploring the property with a bit more freedom then when at home. Everything was great with the house as usual. The updates and improvements to the house are nice to see. Already looking forward to our next visit

The perfect family get away
We went to the Knoll with our 2 young children- ages 2 and 4. It was the best experience we've had in a VRBO as a family. The house was so well stocked and prepared for a young family- our children spent hours playing with the fairy treehouse, making forts in the basement, reading the children's books, and playing make-believe games. There is no greater joy than snuggling next to your husband on a huge (and very comfortable!) couch, in front of a roaring fireplace, with a good book, listening to the laughter and play of your two children. Every day we went on family walks around the loop and down to the river and our children never complained- they loved looking for wildlife, running up ahead on their own, and exploring the outdoors. The house (both inside and out) is so well kept and tastefully decorated. Everything was incredibly clean and the kitchen (which seems to be recently renovated) was well stocked and easy for cooking in. Communication with Liz was easy. We are already dreaming of when we can come back and cannot imagine how beautiful this place must be in the summer.

Wonderful Weekend
We had an excellent weekend. Often while staying at similar properties we’ve had to bring our own wood or there were odd rules around the property. However, while staying here, we had generous access to wood and the property. The fireplace was a huge hit; it felt like Christmas at grandmas. All in all, It was a peaceful and restful weekend in a beautiful cabin in real nature.

A Magical Place
Can we stay longer? That was the overall feeling of our group as we departed The Knoll. This home and property is nothing short of magical and gave us some much needed time to rest and recoup while deepening our relationships with each other. The house is wonderfully decorated, with unique art pieces lining the walls and on the mantle above the cozy fireplace. The moss troden paths down to the river through the woods make for an enchanted vibe. We braved the cold and took our morning coffees on the beautiful deck overlooking the river. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. The beautiful kitchen was fully stocked and easy to cook in. The house was extremely clean. Liz was a phenomenal host and fantastic communicator. We can't wait to return later this year to see the Knoll in a different season!

Excellent place
I love everything about the cabin. I definitely recommend for any season even though I went in the winter I can imagine how beautiful it is in any other season. I would love to go back in the summer, it looks so good for doing anything outdoors. My only negative point is the trash because everything is far from the cabin and I end up not knowing what I should do with the trash.

Great Cabin for the Family
Very clean cabin, next to the river, wooded just enough to fully enjoy the outdoors. Wife enjoyed reading while in front of the fireplace and the kiddos enjoyed the ping pong table and being outside in the snow.

Stay away at all cost
Just stayed with friends and family at knoll. First of becareful driving around the area you may hear gun shots and active hunting. There has been an instance of a gunshot near by. The cabin is really beautiful but we have found bed bugs in the bed. My wife and our friend have been eaten up where we no longer were able to sleep at night. At first we enjoyed ourselves and thought it was really scenic however the bed bugs and the smell of septic tank was hard to ignore. We left the blankets on the bed and now she wants to charge us an additional $200 service fee. Again beware traveler

Nice Cabin, Very Difficult River Access
Liz's cabin was clean and well-stocked, and was pretty quiet and secluded. However, the paths to the river are much longer than we had anticipated, and the kayaks and canoe are stored under the porch at the house. Lugging the boats to the river was difficult, and there is a very steep path right at the river's edge. We managed to make it work, but likely would not have been able to do so with older folks or young children.

Peaceful place
This house is right out of a story book. It has that mountain charm that will take you back to easier times. The frogs and bird sounds. The fire pit to make roasted marshmallows and tell funny stories. Watch the deer stroll on by while you both look in shock to see each other. The river a short path a way to go fishing.

Very nice hide-away on Delaware River. Cabin was clean and tidy. Great privacy and quiet neighbors. Riverside deck was great for hanging out and letting our dogs dry out after a swim.

Beautiful off the beaten path cabin
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay except for one thing: the directions to the cabin were incorrect. The road was closed due to prior rain conditions and we had to call the owner to get alternate directions. Also, there was not a TV. The property is on the Delaware River but you have to walk through a woodsy path to get to the beautiful new deck. You must experience this deck, it is amazing. Everything in this cabin was perfect.

Beautiful House in the Woods
We had a wonderful stay at Beach House. The property is spacious and we enjoyed the walking trails. Spent quite a bit of time watching bald eagles and their nest of babies across the river! The house itself is cozy and comfortable with nice sleeping options. The kitchen is well appointed and the huge deck and fire pit out back were fabulous.

Full Throttle to the Knoll!
Stayed at the cabin for a 2nd year during Babes Ride Out Ladies Only Motorcycle Rally. There are neighbors on both sides but you won't/don't see them. The area is just perfect to be able to "unplug" from it all. Although there is enough entertainment close by if you wish: lo-tech games & books to read. Plus there is wifi if you have to jump online for anything. The only caveat is, especially if you're riding motorcycles (I'm talking big, cruiser style bikes), there is a long dirt road to get to the cabin, and then a kind of steep dirt/rock/gravel driveway down to the cabin itself. However, for experienced riders, it all adds a sense of adventure to the trip.

More than we imagined!
The property was much nicer and larger than I originally expected. It was big enough for 4 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs. Speaking of the dogs, they had a BLAST! The kids loved being remote and had fun exploring the wilderness! When we had our phones off, was nice to hear the frogs croaking and the other sounds of nature. The morning was cool and comfortable and the afternoons warm. When you are down on the river, do yourself a favor and sit by the small stream on a chair. You will immediately fall asleep from being so relaxed. The guys and kids loved fishing but they definitely needed to work hard to catch a fish. Kids also loved kayaking and we went across the way to a little "beach" with sand to play in. The renovated bathroom was great and a nice size too. Really, we loved being here! One unfortunate part was that Peggy Road was under construction so be aware if you go in June 2022. Also, No garbage disposal and be prepared to take your garbag home but they disclose that in the details.

Charming Family Getwaway
The home was charming, as was its isolated area near the river. There were tons of eagles and birds, along with other deer. The house is filled with trinkets and relics from the past, and our children loved the toys and games. There is no TV in the house, but this made for an enjoyable family getaway surrounding the fire and lovely conversations. We enjoyed the fire pit outside as well. The house is packed with everything that you’ll need. We cooked and sat around the table - away from the stress of life. We’d return again. It is lovely.

Beautiful private wooded weekend
The property was perfect for our family (2 adults and 3 kids) and the hosts generously supplied everything we needed for our stay (many hosts don’t supply basic toiletries, salt, paper towels, etc. but these hosts did!) The house was immaculate, warm and comfortable. Big living room with lots of seating, great well-equipped kitchen and big dining table seating 8. Huge full bath off the kitchen. Upstairs had really comfy queen bed master, bunk bed on the big landing, and a queen and twin beds in the kid room. Basement (which we didn’t even use) has laundry, ping pong and full bath. Our favorite part of the stay was the huge wooded area with a tree house, creek, river frontage and fire pit where we hung out a lot and made s’mores both nights. And the huge front covered porch was the perfect spot for my morning coffee while listening to the rushing creek and bird songs. It is a beautiful location and the house is a superb rental. Thanks for everything!

Everything from peaceful to amazing
Renting this property was easy. Liz was super thoughtful and kind. There happened to be a road closure and she sent great directions to get to the cabin. We celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday and my children loved zooming around all the paths through the woods and making the tree house their ‘house’. The house was more than well stocked and equipped. It was just a perfect time. We will be back! Thank you!

Lovely get away at Beach Lake Poconos
My wife and I stayed at the Knoll for 4 nights this week. It is a lovely cabin right on the Delaware River. The property allows for some exploring and has beautiful acreage with paths and bridges amidst the woods and a deck that is perfect to sit and have a cocktail and view the river, although it was a bit too cold for that this stay. The house itself is adorable and has that log cabin feel that my wife and I love. The area is very quiet and allows for walks with our dog without worrying about traffic. The house is well equipped as far as dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, knives, paper goods, etc which is always very helpful as we can pack less. The only reason I left a 4 for cleanliness is there were some cobwebs in the bathroom shower, but most of the house was clean. The basement is a bit musty, but that's not unexpected with older wood homes. My only negative regarding the house is that the upstairs where the beds are does not have a bathroom and my wife and I are at that age where we are up a few times a night, so it would be nice to have a bathroom on the 2nd floor. As far as activities, we took our dog to Tusten Mountain where you can do an hour and a half walk that is good for the average reasonably in-shape hiker. We are 67 and 62 and enjoyed doing the full loop each day. We would definitely stay here again! The owner was responsive to communication and very helpful. Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Perfect stay!
My wife and I have stayed at many properties in this area and this has to be our favorite so far. Hidden down the long road along the river but still close to all the river villages made it a perfect get-away. Owners were very responsive to inquires. The house has everything you'll need to make your stay very comfortable. We especially loved the out door fire pit even though it was pretty cold this time of year. Beautiful house and property! Thanks for making my Birthday week special.

Thanksgiving Retreat
The Knoll was a very clean and welcoming cabin for preparing our Thanksgiving dinner and spending time with loved ones. The living room was extremely comfortable with the large couch and beautiful fireplace. We found the property with the assistance of Monica and her husband...the detour and dark combined to make finding the property challenging. It would have been very helpful to have received an update on directions before our arrival date. Our GPS would not give alternate directions due to the road being out. Thanks so much to Monica!!! We found the Knoll to be an enchanting location to relax.

Very cozy home
Our biggest concern was the mattresses all need to be replaced. They are old and very soft. We were all in our late 60s, and while no one minded the idea of a bunk bed, we didn't realize that the bed was under a very low slanted ceiling, and that there was no opening where the ladder was, which made it impossible for us to use. The basement was extremely musty and moldy smelling, so we didn't even want to go down there to use the bathroom, much less try a mattress from there. The upstairs main living area was very nice, and we had a lot of fun hanging out. We are artists, and our main reason for going was to paint. The weather wasn't great, so we had to paint inside, where the light was very minimal--fine for everything but painting!! All in all, though, we had a very good time!

Family Adventure
What a fun house for a family! If you are looking for a rustic getaway with some modern amenities, this cabin is great! There are Bunkbeds, a ping pong table, kayaks, fishing, a treehouse, fire pit, more streams and little paths than a kid can dream of! We caught frogs, toads, lots of worms and a few bass! On the rainy day my kids loved all the wooden toys available. The deck by the river is a beautiful place to read and hang out. I do agree with a previous reviewer, getting kayak to and into the river takes some muscle. The house had plenty of fans to set up on the 90° days! Once we opened windows and acclimated, not having AC wasn’t a big deal. They have CUTCO knives!!! Most rentals have terrible cutlery, I was thrilled to have access to such a nice knife set! We did venture into Honesdale one evening for the Friday night Ice Cream Train! That was a fun outing for all of us!

The Knoll
The cabin is sweet and is well equipped except there is no air conditioning. It was pretty warm upstairs where the bedrooms are even with the fans that were supplied, because it was an unusually hot week! Most times of the year it would be perfect with the windows open and fans. The rooms are a good size and were relatively clean except for cobwebs, which didn't bother us. One of the recliners was broken but we didn't need it anyway. The newer sofa was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the covered porch and rocking chairs! There is a deck above the river with chairs and a picnic table and access to the river is a bit steep but steps are cut in for easy access. The paths to the river were neatly mowed and a nice walk. We enjoyed the firepit and that the wood was there in abundance. All in all we enjoyed our visit to the Knoll and would recommend it with many kudos!

quiet retreat
Great location and beautiful trails to deck overlooking river.(My favorite spot). Access to river with kayaks was difficult.. steep and slippery incline the last few yards. Could use a few updates like new grill for bbq and a few newer pans. Fire pit and wood supply was awesome! Area has much to offer but just being at the cabin was enough.
