This property has a lot of potential thanks to its excellent location near the beach, pet-friendly policy, and walkability to restaurants and shops. Being right off the causeway makes it convenient to get on and off the island, and the space offers plenty of beds on paper.Unfortunately, our stay revealed multiple issues. Cleanliness was the first disappointment: we found a soiled bathing suit in a drawer, socks outside, empty marijuana packaging under a bed, mouse droppings on the fridge, expired food in the kitchen (2013 expiration) a dirty grill with an almost-empty propane tank. For a property charging a cleaning fee, this was unacceptable.Maintenance and safety also fell short. A broken step with rusty brackets posed a hazard, exterior doors weren’t properly secured, & basics were missing or broken: ill-fitting sheets, not enough utensils, a blender without a base, no toilet paper holder, and TVs without working connections. One TV was left on the floor mid-installation.The listing promised WiFi and functioning TVs, but we received only one login and instructions that didn’t work. Sleeping arrangements were misleading as well—two “beds” were on an un-air-conditioned porch, and one room lacked the queen bed advertised. The claim of space for 14 guests was unrealistic. When concerns were raised, the host was dismissive, blaming “summer renters.” With updates and proper care, this home could be fantastic, but in its current state, it fails to deliver on its promise.
