We loved our stay in Bayou La Batre. This house provided us with everything we needed. Right on Snake Bayou. We enjoyed the different restaurants in the area and it was just a short drive to Dolphin Island for the beach.House was very clean and very comfortable!

First Junior Rodeo!

It was a wonderful stay! We will definitely be using Mudbugs as our go to place to stay when visiting Dolphin Island in the future!

clean getaway

Our group enjoyed the quick weekend getaway here! The pictures made it look like there was a lot more area to fish from land, but besides that no complaints! The house was clean and stocked well. I appreciated the pamphlets with things to do and where to eat especially with a toddler around.

Peaceful Location

Great, peaceful, and private location. House was clean and well stocked with towels, dishes, utensils, etc... All was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Family Vacation

This was the perfect house and location for our first family vacation. Traveling with kids are never easy, let alone finding things to keep everyone happy. This house gave them the opportunity to play in the yard, fish, sit by the fire, or just hang out inside. We spent most of our day at the beaches on Dauphin Island, which is only a 20 min drive. The property is just beautiful!

House was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was super clean and spacious for family of five. Boat launch across bayou was easily accessible, with a very scenic boat ride to the gulf spanning about 15 minutes. we actually caught speckled trout right off the dock the day we arrived before some rain set in on day 2. Grocery store and restaurant a minute or two away, bugs were no issue this time of year. Rain was no issue with the area under the house with picnic table and chairs, we were able to boil shrimp with the gear provided as well. We will definitely re visit!

Peaceful

The house was in a secluded area so that you could just sit outside and listen to nature and relax. Very well kept and homey feeling.

Awesome Place!

This place is very relaxing and excellent if you plan on fishing or boating. You can keep your boat in the water and have direct access to the Mississippi Sound and Gulf of Mexico. The house is beautifully decorated and has all you need. The hosts are very nice people as well! I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay in Bayou La Batre

The property is beautiful and everything is so well thought out. The water access is perfect and fire pit/grill is nice and practical. Also everything is close by the store is a 5 minute drive and Dauphin island is only about 20 min drive we will definitely be back to stay here we loved our time here.

Amazing

Perfect location for fishing. The boat landing is across the creek and we were able to use it at high tide. The house is on several acre wooded lot. Very quiet and secluded. We enjoyed our wedding anniversary here.

Wonderful Stay

My mom wanted to go to Bellingrath Gardens for a joint family birthday trip, and we found this cute home that was able to accommodate all of us. Overall the experience was very good, house was clean, instructions were clear, and we loved how it felt like our own little oasis. It was so good we are considering going back again next year!

Bayou and Belingrath

This precious place was the perfect setting for our gathering of four forever friends. It had all the necessities and comforts of home. We loved the decor -with nautical, fishing, and wildlife theming. We enjoyed the bayou view (pelicans and herons included), the large raised deck and hammocks. The location was great for our visits Dauphin Island and Belingrath Gardens.

Clean and comfy

Great house! This is our third year to rent this house and we will keep coming each year. We have a mission trip to Bayou La Batre’ that comes and our youth stay at the Hemley Rd church of Christ. They have a food and clothing distribution each week for the community. Such a wonderful program for those in need. This house is minutes from the church, a grocery store and ice cream shop! The porch overlooks the Snake Bayou with a peaceful view of it and the surrounding pine trees. The kitchen is easy to maneuver and properly stoked. Dauphin Island, a popular beach destination is less than an easy 30 minute drive. We will be back next year!

The peacefully side

The property was beautiful. The house was decorated perfect and was supplied with anything you would want. Plenty of space inside and out for that family get together. If you want peace and quiet with birds singing during the day and a Whippoorwill at night, this is the place. All mom and pop restaurants with the best seafood and you have to love that small town feel. Even if you like the hustle and bustle of the city, stay here and drive. It will be good for your soul.

Beautifully decorated

Pros: Interior decorating is gorgeous. Layout of interior is great and place is well-stocked. There are many outdoor places to sit - covered deck, deck, fire pit, and hammocks. Cons: Small tv in LR, none in bedrooms. Uncomfortably firm beds (some ppl may like that), very small master shower, low water pressure. Seafood suggestion: Bayou Seafood Company - fried shrimp is best I have ever eaten.

Remote, Pictures are accurate

The pictures are very accurate, ground was very wet from all the rain, the firepit area was on a hill but had water all around it. The inside was beautiful, had lots of supplies that you would need, they had games there that you could play, the neighborhood was more backwoods than we were expecting. The grocery store that was near by was very well stocked, but do not go plan to go out to eat anywhere.

This bungalow is very clean and well stocked with all you need for a fish fry, crab boil, and anything you need inside the kitchen. Everything!Mudbugs Fish Camp is the name of the joint, however, you need a boat to fish in this area. Hightide is in the mornings when you sleep in or out with your family at the beach, exploring nearby Dauphin Island. Evening and Night fishing from the dock is sparse. When the tide goes out, the water is so low and still it is impossible to enjoy casting a line. That being said, the boat slip is right across the water from the house and only one driveway down. The area is quiet for the most part. The neighbors kept to themselves. The gentlemen with the Shrimping Boat that is dock across the way was friendly. We enjoyed her our stay and had a great vacation.

Quiet & Peaceful

The only downside of this beautiful property is all the wasps. I could barely set foot outside without being attacked. They did have some repellent downstairs, which helped. Overall, the property is amazing. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the kitchen!!! Everything you need is there. I don't like to plan big meals or special treats while on vacation, since you are never quite sure what items there will be or what the local stores have in their stock. However, the kids and I made some homemade pizza one afternoon, and I was able to whip up a batch of my chocolate chip cookies for the 4th. The layout is very practical. I was able to wash up clothes rather quickly without taking out too much from other things. My husband and kids spent most of their time on the dock fishing. Definitely a very memorable vacation!!! We would love to visit again soon.

1st time staying at the bayou.

The home is at a nice and quiet area. Love the deck and the view. However when we arrived we noticed there is 1 tv in the living room none in the bedrooms. Which the kids didnt like on the rainy days having diffrent age groups was a bit hard to keep happy. There were dishes put away that where dirty so we had to wash everything as we used it. There was no where to put kitchen items that we needed everything had to sit on the counters. The bedrooms were nice however the beds are extremely hard which for me made it very hard to sleep comfortably with my back issues. They had a pack n play which was nice till we opened it and it was nasty left dirty and put away. Also they dont provide you with a mop just a swifter which with babies and toddlers I like to keep the floors clean or clean up spills which made it challenging. Also it was kind of a drive to anywhere you wanted to go stores close early there. There is a great doughnut shop there in town which is nice. The boat lift is locked so its not avaliable to guest. The dryer made a horrible noise sent video to owner she offered to have someone come out but told her since it was drying the clothes still to wait till we checked out. So if your looking for an isolated area and a quiet place this is definitely it. If you looking to go to the beach eat out your definitely gonna be taking a drive to get there about 30 min. Give or take depending on what your looking for. There was plenty of parking space for us and everything is lit up nice at night.

Outdoor lovers dream- decorators heaven!!

Never have i stayed in such a well thought out home. There was nothing we needed that you didn’t have. Amazing kitchen, comfy beds, great relaxing views and a variety of dining options. Loved it all.
