This property is closed. I was not contacted by Expedia to alert me to this, and had to rebook at a different location days before my trip. Got no satisfaction from Expedia customer service. Will never use Expedia again.

Definitely not a chain hotel! Nice touches inside and out with a bookshelf, historical artwork and accent walls inside, and a terraced garden with a view of Lake Superior outside. Since there was no breakfast or onsite restaurant, the only thing we really missed was a microwave!

We picked a bad time to go, middle of Oct and the weather wasn’t good plus during Covid. The room itself, no complaints. Seemed clean, beds are pretty hard, tv was huge, view was great. Didn’t have anything for amenities, but we didn’t need them anyways. It’s a good location overlooking the lake and extremely close to everything. We didn’t get to really appreciate the gardens but I could tell they are normally very beautiful. It met our needs.

Pleasant room and view
One thing is for sure, if you are traveling, you need to be prepared for anything. Our first hotel closed due to Covid. I got the call when we were parked across the street about to go in. Whether right or not, they were of little help in finding us a new place. We had a previous visit to a hotel where they lost heat. The hotel found us an alternative. So, I was less than pleased. Anyway, this was not exactly what we wanted,but it was very nice. We had a first floor room with a patio and a lovely view of the lake. The room was very pleasant with some pretty cool artwork. The bathroom was a little tight, but nicely done and not a big deal. I do have to say that the floor in the entrance and going into the bath could be slippery. The shower had plenty of pressure. We had a fridge, would have liked a microwave, but we managed. Nice TV, plenty of options. They did give us a sheet with what restaurants were doing as far as service. That was good to know. The gardens were pleasant. There was a gas grill and a nice deck closer to the water. We recently lost a family member, I do have to say that we thought the sign on the door was a bit offensive. We may agree with some of their points, but I think we would never stay there again just because of that sign. The wound is still open as far as our loss. We need to be kind to each other.

The property people and room were Excellent. The only issue we had was the outside light shined sooo BRIGHT! we were unable to sleep. we were in a room below facing the lake. Such a dissapointment. Won't return unless I can choose my room location

Amazing views of the lake, everything was clean and charming. Big outside deck was beautiful, outside grilling and picnic area was newer and stunning.

The room and sheets were not clean. It smelt like a dog kennel. Internet only worked if you were within 20ft of the office. Many things were broke and needed repair. Way overpriced for the quality.

Property is in disrepair. WiFi doesn’t work, micro wave doesn’t work. Room smells like a dog along with the sheets. Walls are thin so you here EVERYTHING in the next room. Way overpriced for condition of property There is a For Sale sign in front of the property which is probably a good idea.

Needs to improve customer service
We were very disappointed that the front desk never communicated all of the COVID related restaurant closures before or upon arrival. Not a word was said - we had to find out ourselves when we went to town and found two hour wait times at the 3 restaurants that were open. I would have expected that the front desk staff would have recommended other places to dine in the area. Very poor customer service. Also, the condo needed several repairs: The screen door was broken and the faucets leaked. The Wi Fi is not "spotty" - it doesn't work at all. However, the coffee shop downtown had very good WiFi. This means the resort management does not want to pay for adequate WiFi service.

Lovely view
Beautiful view, easy check in and responsive front desk. Queen bed mattress was uncomfortable for us, but those of us who slept on the twin beds liked them. Kitchen had everything we needed and it is convenient to all Bayfield has to offer.

Our room had a Window air unit that was extremely loud and didn’t work well. No ceiling fans or airflow in unit. Had to keep door and window open at night in order to sleep. Otherwise room was very hot and air conditioner too loud and didn’t really work. We had it set at 66 to no avail. Good it’s a small town and low crime area - we hope anyway. View of Lake Superior was nice. Room was clean and nice sized.

Great place to stay!
Beautifully situated on Lake Superior just blocks north of the main area in Bayfield. Great fire pit area to watch either the moon rise, or the sun rise. Very comfortable and clean. Excellent service.

COVID Debacle!
The resort grounds are beautiful and the rooms are fine, just need some updating. We were disappointed on check-in when the person said that Bayfield had an outbreak of COVID cases and most restaurants and shops were closed. It would have been nice to have known that in advance so we could have planned accordingly. It was frustrating to be a tourist in a community that was virtually shut down. One night we ended up in Ashland for dinner. There was no room cleaning service.

It was clean and nice, property could use a little work and the amenities were minimal (coffee maker way outdated, they give you a bar of soap and one shampoo...no conditioner). Cute place otherwise nestled right outside of the town.
