Majordoms Ponent is a well-organised, self-contained holiday apartment in central Banyoles, designed for comfortable, independent stays. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, air conditioning in the living room and two bedrooms, and a private rooftop terrace.

Arrival level with the shared building entrance and private storage spaces.



Entrance hall — A shared entrance hall for the building, giving access to the apartment staircase.



Bike storage — A private ground-floor garage with room for bikes or equipment. (To small for most cars)



Storage room — An additional private storage space on the ground floor for suitcases and equipment.



First floor

The main living level with all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas.



Bedroom 1 — A twin bedroom with 2 single beds, a large built-in wardrobe, air conditioning, roller blinds, and a glass door opening onto the private terrace. Courtyard-facing. En-suite bathroom. A travel cot is available free of charge. An ironing board, iron, and clothes airer are stored in this room.



Bathroom 1 (en-suite) — A full bathroom attached to bedroom 1, with a bathtub and overhead shower, toilet, bidet, heated towel rails, and a hairdryer.



Bedroom 2 — A twin bedroom with 2 single beds, air conditioning, roller blinds, a clothing rack, and a glass door opening onto the private terrace. Courtyard-facing.



Bedroom 3 — A smaller bedroom with a bunk bed for 2, a clothing rack, and shutters. Accessed through bedroom 2, with access to the terrace.



Bathroom 2 — A shower room with a walk-in shower, toilet, and sink.



Kitchen — A fully equipped kitchen with a 4-burner gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, separate freezer, Nespresso machine, kettle, milk frother, toaster, and a full set of crockery, cutlery, and cookware for all guests. Street-facing with natural light.



Living and dining room — A spacious open living area with a dining table for 6, a 3-seater sofa, a TV, a fireplace, and air conditioning. Large French balcony-style glass doors face the street, letting in plenty of natural light. Note: firewood is not provided — a bag can be purchased locally if you would like to use the fireplace.



Private terrace — A small private outdoor terrace off bedrooms 2 and 3, with a table, 2 chairs, a parasol, and an outdoor sink. A pleasant spot for a morning coffee.



Third floor — Accessed via an internal staircase from the first floor.



Terrassa superior — A generous private rooftop terrace with a dining table and chairs for 6, 2 sun loungers, and a parasol. Well-suited for outdoor meals and relaxing in the sun.

Banyoles is a welcoming town in the province of Girona, known for its lake, walkable centre, and strong cycling culture. The apartment is centrally located, with the lake, old town, and the main cycling routes all within easy walking distance.



Neighbourhood



Carrer del Ponent sits in the heart of Banyoles town centre, a short walk from the lakeside promenade and the main square. The street is calm and residential, with everyday amenities close by.



Town (Banyoles)



Banyoles has a compact, walkable centre with local shops, cafes, a covered market, and a lively restaurant scene around the old town. The lake is the centrepiece of the town — ideal for a morning run, a lakeside cycle, a swim in summer, or a relaxed evening stroll. Banyoles is well established as a cycling hub, with signposted routes of varying difficulty starting from the town itself.



Province (Girona)



The Girona province is excellent for day trips and outdoor activity. Medieval villages, the Costa Brava coastline, the Pyrenees foothills, natural parks, and world-class cycling routes are all within easy reach by car. The city of Girona is around 20 minutes away and well worth a visit.



CLIMATE



Banyoles has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters. July and August are the hottest months, with temperatures often reaching 28–34°C. Spring and autumn are ideal for cycling, hiking, and exploring the region, with temperatures typically between 15–22°C. The area benefits from its proximity to the Costa Brava coast, where the Tramuntana wind creates excellent conditions for sailing and kitesurfing around the Gulf of Roses — one of Europe's top spots for wind sports. Winters are cool and generally mild, making the holiday apartment a comfortable base for off-season stays.

Majordoms Ponent is set up for a comfortable self-catering stay all year round. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4-burner gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and freezer, and includes at least 2 full sets of crockery and cutlery for all guests.



A washing machine is available in the kitchen. An iron, ironing board, and clothes airer are available for longer stays.



Air conditioning is available in the living room, bedroom 1, and bedroom 2.



The living room has a fireplace for cooler months. Firewood is not included and can be purchased locally.



A child safety gate is fitted at the top of the internal staircase.

The building has a shared entrance hall at street level, used by other residents of the building. Access to the apartment itself is private via the internal staircase.



The bike storage area and storage room on the ground floor are for the exclusive use of guests staying in this apartment.



Guests check in independently using a key box at the entrance — no need to wait for anyone. Full instructions, door codes, and arrival details are sent before your stay.



GETTING THERE



The nearest airport is Girona–Costa Brava (GRO), approximately 20 minutes by car. Barcelona El Prat (BCN) is about 1 hour 30 minutes away and offers a wider choice of international connections.



Girona has direct high-speed train connections to Barcelona, Madrid, and beyond. From Girona, there are regular bus services to Banyoles.



A car is recommended if you plan to explore the wider region, go cycling, or visit the coast. The holiday apartment has no private parking — public street parking is available on and around Carrer del Ponent.
