We had a great time at "Blue Sky"! We traveled with my parents, husband, and our two small children. The lay out is great for families! Hot tub was wonderful, and the house was stocked with everything we needed and more. Plenty of towels, blankets, pillows and kitchen items that made if feel like home! Matt was great to communicate with and gave us great tips on questions about the area. We hope to make it back soon!

Ski getaway

We had a great trip! The house was one of the most equipped rentals we have ever stayed at and everything was very clean. The owners were very thorough and communicated well. The beds were very comfortable and the zone heating allowed everyone to sleep at their desired temperature. It is set up nicely for kids with the bunk beds and kid friendly dishes.

Cozy Mountain Get Away

Matt, the owner, was wonderful to work with. He was very thorough with directions and very responsive. The house was perfect for 2 families of 4, with 4 kids under 8 years old. The location was phenomenal, right around the corner from Beech Mountain. The hot tub after a day of skiing was lovely. We did have some trouble getting up the driveway with the snow and ice. Matt did warn us about this, but we didn’t listen and opted not to buy chains for our tires- lesson learned! Overall, we had a wonderful trip and would definitely look to visit this property again.

Gorgeous place so convenient to everything

We took 8 young adults ages from 14 to 23 with us 2 were our grandchildren. Plenty of room and everything you need for all rooms and plenty of cooking items. If it is snowing it is a steep driveway so be prepared. Glad we had no snow. It’s a great place and the owner Matt is such a nice person to deal with. Definitely stay there again

Best Host I’ve Had

This property is great. Close to the slopes. Accommodated our large family nicely. The owner is the best I’ve ever worked with. He was in constant communication when we needed something. Gave us tips and tricks before we came. We had snow and ice on our arrival day and he made sure the driveway was prepared. I can’t think him enough.

Great house and great owner

Arrived at property and it was as listed. There was an issue with the power unrelated to the owner's fault. The owner was very informative and was on top of the issue. This was resolved shortly after we arrived, and the rest of our trip was wonderful.

Just perfect!

We stayed at this lovely home for our visit to the Land of Oz on Beech Mountain. We enjoyed every minute of it. The home had everything we needed and more. The walking trails directly behind the house were amazing and beautiful. Enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub. Just perfect!

Amazing House & Location!

My family of five had a get-away to explore the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay here - the location is great, right in Beech Mountain and not far from restaurants and stores. The ski resort is close too, but we didn't ski this time. There is a walking trail that runs just behind the property, and follows a beautiful mountain stream for a few miles. The house was wonderful as well - very spacious, with comfortable beds and couches. Very clean, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped. Check-in & check-out was smooth, and communication with host was great. Would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.

A true mountain escape!

A lovely home that is welcoming and picturesque! Deer grazing in the front yard, trail access in the back yard, and waterfalls within a very short walking distance. Not only was the home very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen/bathrooms were well stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely come back again!

Emergency Accomodation Made Effortless

My daughter and her friend wound up needing a place to stay after getting stuck in a car during a snow storm that left many stranded. Due to accidents and cars sliding off the road, Beech Mountain Pkwy was at a standstill for hours. The forecast did not anticipate the amount of snow that fell. Due to road closures, nobody was able to reach my daughter and her friend in order to help. All hotels were booked and they were too far up Beech Mountain to get down to the hotels. My cousin found Blue Sky Home was right next to the location they were stranded. We reached out and Mark, the owner, got back to us personally to help out. With Mark's instructions, I quickly got onto VRBO to complete the rental and was able to get it booked immediately. This was my first experience renting from VRBO. Mark was super friendly, kind, and amazingly helpful. The communication was above and beyond anything I could have asked for. The house was very spacious and in great proximity to the ski lodge. Makes for a perfect place to stay. Overlook Trail runs right by the house with parking spots right next to it. While the stay was unique to the situation, we hope to return and spend more time under better circumstances. Thank you so much Mark for quickly getting things in place to keep my daughter and her friend safe that night. We are very grateful for you and all you had done for us. Highly recommend!!!!

Amazing rental option!

Blue Sky is a fantastic option for your entire family or just couples. Location is very close to Beech Mt. and to great hiking trails as well! The host was very responsive and attentive to our needs before and during our stay. We had a bad storm arriving the day of our check out and the owner reached out to us the night before letting us know about the incoming storm and that he had already cleared a late checkout for us if needed. Our family will definitely be back!

Great house and location

We had a great stay at Blue Sky! The house was just as described, very comfortable for two families and the kids especially enjoyed the hot tub! The location was great and a super easy drive to Beech mountain. Matt went above and beyond-he was a wonderful host- very easy to communicate with, responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay at Blue Sky!

Awesome Get Away

We had a great stay at Blue Sky mountain house. The property feels secluded with woods surrounding most of the home. However, it's in a convenient location right between town and the ski resort. There's a beautiful view from the porch and you can hear the waterfall from the nearby park. The home is spacious with plenty of room to move about, beds are comfortable, and it's fully equipped with anything you need. We enjoyed the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Matt was great to work with along the way and provided knowledgeable recommendations for dining and activities in the area. This house was perfect for our stay, and we hope to come back!

Great Mountain Getaway

We spent a night in this charming house nestled on Beech Mountain. The drive up was quite scenic and gave a glimpse of what is available in Beech Mountain and the neighboring town of Banner Elk. We made our way to Fred’s Mercantile for a few essentials then onto the house. The house is tucked away in the woods with two spacious decks and mountain views that have you looking down at the clouds while you enjoy the cool air and coffee in the morning. The living room is spacious with modern fixtures and decor and an inviting wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is fully stocked and the large dining table seats 8+. The living room is open and bright with the most comfortable overstuffed furniture. The whole feel is tranquil. There is a spacious bedroom upstairs with a bathroom just outside the rustic sliding barn door. Downstairs, there is another primary bedroom with en suite bathroom, large closet, and a deck with seating. Large windows provide a sight to see in the mornings. The kids enjoyed double bunks and playing an array of available board games in the downstairs den. The yard has a great seating area and fire pit where we made s’mores. There is a trail just beside the yard where a short hike will lead you to a creek and pretty waterfall. The leaves were just starting to change, but I have no doubt there would be stunning views of the fall foliage in the weeks to come. This is the perfect house and locale for avid skiers! We look forward to going back!

Our New Favorite Place to Stay on Beech Mountain

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Sky on Beech Mountain. King beds in each adult room was a nice touch for our crew, as they were very comfortable. The house is very spacious and homey, providing everything we needed. Hearing the waterfall next to the property was refreshing out on the deck at night and during coffee in the morning. A hiking trail was 30 feet behind the house which we took a half mile up to an overlook. Next time will do the mile down trail to Lake Coffey. Overall we loved the renovated home, cooler weather and fireplace in the living room. Matt the owner was responsive and helpful. We plan to visit again next year.
