This property was very clean and had all the basics, location was great, furniture was comfortable, it was ideal for what we wanted.
The first annoying part was getting to the property late (had worked all day and drove all day so didn’t throughly read the agreement that said you have to go to their office, couple miles away), for the key. Finally get there and it was just a paper with the door code and some instructions. Why couldn’t that be a pdf in an email?
Then we finally get back up to the property and try to shower and warm up the hot tub to relax after such a long day of traveling. No hot water, tub had been off so it was just cold all around.
After just giving up for the night and sleeping it off I woke up to find that the circuit breakers were off for the water heater, and several other ones for whatever reason.
I called the management company and someone went out there to make sure everything was working. The management people were very nice and the person that went out there was very helpful we had hot water again, turned on the fireplace that we couldn’t get on (very hard to do for some reason) and tan the hot tub and advised us it’ll take a while to get warm.
We had a whole day of snowboarding so that’s fine by the time we got back to the property the tub should’ve been warm.
Get back to the property excited for a hot tub and a couple of relaxing drinks with the fam in there only to find it freezing cold still. Running, noisy, but cold.
If this was a week long trip with a one-two day annoyance of stuff not working well then ok whatever, not a big deal. But this was literally the whole trip, quick weekend trip, where we chose this instead of a hotel to have the amenities of a hot tub in a nice cabin.
The management company was told about this, they provided a partial refund for “hot tub fees” since it wasn’t used. But at the end of the day we just wanted a nice, smooth, weekend trip and the accumulation of these little things really put a damper on things. It’s not a super cheap property so I expected way more. In this case, the basics at least. If you know someone is going to be staying at the property then look over it, makes sure the breakers are on and that everything is functioning.
