The bed was damaged. My sister was transferred to another room after midnight. The bedding they brought us for the sofa bed was stinky. There was a draft from the AC unit into the room which made it very cold. The hotel called us at 830am after a long night of getting organized with a new room which ended after midnight. The next morning someone just entered our room without knocking first. The second morning was the same thing. It was a total mess of a situation. The only good thing was that the hotel manager gave my sister the second room on night 1 and 2 without charge. I thought this was the only reasonable resolution to this issue. And they did exactly that. There are so many choices in Banff that I would certainly not stay here again or recommend this hotel. Overall not a good experience at all on multiple levels.

I’m happy with the room as long as it’s not a loft style. Very good price friendly staff. We’re on our second visit at Charltons and looking forward to another visit.

I liked that the room was unusual with the spiral staircase and the fireplace was nice. It would have made more sense to have the bathroom upstairs and also leave temperature control to the guests. We didnt like that we were told by the night shift guy that we couldnt shut off the air conditioning. The maintenance guy who helped us fix that was fantastic. We didnt like the temperature maintenance on the pools. Pool was too cold hot tub too hot. Also would have been nice for the fireplace to stay on for a longer period of time. Thanks again to maintenance for the adjustment. We are adults, not children. All the other staff were incredible and very helpful.

Old and needs to be upgraded. Also having to walk outside to get to the pool was not great.

When we arrived our room smelled really bad. We tried airing it out but the smell would not go away. We asked to move rooms and the staff were very accommodating. The new room smelled much better but the tap in the kitchen was broken making it difficult to get cold or hot water. The blankets on the bed were so old the soft part had been rubbed off and the blanket was rough and scratchy. The pool was freezing cold the first day we could not go in it. The 2 other days the pool was slightly warmer but still much colder than a regular pool. When I told the person at the desk about our stay they didn’t seem to care they just wished us a good day. The extra cost of a kitchen suite was not worth it. The hotel needs a lot of renovations as the rooms are starting to look outdated and are breaking down.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Charlton’s Banff! The staff kept our toiletries and linens refreshed, gave great recommendations on how to make the most of our visit, and were friendly and accommodating when we occasionally had additional requests of them. The hot tub is awesome and spacious and the pool was even warm enough to enjoy mid winter as well. Having a kitchenette was awesome so we didn’t have to eat out every meal. Would stay again!

Property is dated and the space is small. The floor was stained with I have no idea what but it was big and red. The upstairs is very hot where the bed is and the seating is limited to a small couch on the main level. (Loft room) Decent hotel but is expensive for the age of the facility.

Had to pay &15 to park in their parking lot. Room was clean, but furniture was old. In need of updating. Carpet was worn in places. The Keg was next door. That was handy. Won’t stay there again.

It was a nice stay. It would have been nice to know beforehand that the hot tub was out of service. Also, parking wasn’t free. Most hotels give free parking.

Staff were great, super accommodating, rooms were reasonably clean, the age of the hotel is most certainly showing in certain areas but reflected in the savings per night. Was mostly quiet depsite someone in the somewhat early morning deciding everyone should hear their loud car stereo. Nice distance for walking to the shops and restaurants not too far.Would definitely consider staying here again.

We booked the hotel based on having a hot tub after a cool evening outside. It wasn’t noted anywhere that the hot tub was closed. We didn’t get a chance to use it due to it being closed. The TV didn’t work in our room

Disappointed
wish they had a bigger fridge, or offered a microwave for our food. Or even a breakfast option, little to no garbage cans. Limited options for the price we paid. Disappointed in our stay and we frequent hotels all over Canada.
