We loved the fairly remote location of this villa (up on a cliff overlooking the ocean) and the convenient access to the local attractions. The property was perfect for our family of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed the pool. The landscaping was gorgeous. Oscar the concierge at Paradise Management was exceptional and made the trip seamless. Highly recommend this stay for a fun adventure.

We booked this rental for three nights but ended up leaving after just one because it was simply not a safe or comfortable experience for our family. The listing does not fully prepare you for the reality of getting to this house. The property is perched at the very top of a mountain, and the only way up is a long, steep, and winding dirt road. It’s so far up that you actually cross into San José province. The drive is extremely challenging and not something most renters will feel comfortable doing, especially at night or in poor weather.Once at the house, the problems continued. There is no cell phone service whatsoever, meaning that in an emergency you would be completely isolated. On our first night, the power went out twice, leaving us with no lights and no way to contact anyone. Imagine being 20 minutes up a dangerous road, in total darkness, with no phone service and young children who were terrified. It was incredibly stressful and unsafe.Yes, the house itself is beautiful and the view is spectacular, but those positives do not outweigh the negatives. A vacation rental should feel like a place where you can relax, not one where you feel stranded and anxious. We cut our trip short and left after the first night because we did not feel comfortable or secure staying there.I would not recommend this property for families or anyone who values accessibility, safety, and peace of mind.

What a magical trip! It was perfection for me and my family and exactly the vacation we needed! To say we fell in love with Costa Rica and the location we were at would be an understatement! The house was amazing my with all the views, animals we saw just from our windows, and all the conveniences of home. The service and concierge were exceptional during our stay if there were any issues. Oscar was extremely helpfully and checked in on us during our stay! We definitely will be planning another trip in the very near future.

The property was a great stay. the drive getting there was adventurous, but we did get used to it after a couple of times. Im sure the view would have been beautiful had the weather cooperated. If you looking to get away and feel relaxed this would be perfect.

Fabulous stay!!

Words can’t describe how incredible the view is and how incredibly relaxing it is in the back patio! It is both a visual and auditory sensation. Hearing and seeing the various birds and different bird calls, hearing the monkeys, seeing coatis every day and nighttime visitors-geckos and frogs! We loved it! The plants and trees are stunning as well and it’s private! Like others have shared though-the road up to the house is rough! It took us 25-30 minutes one way in our 4-wheel Suzuki jeep. It could barely make it up! Don’t rent a Suzuki jeep ! lol! Oscar, our concierge, did an incredible job communicating with us and booking our excursions! Wish we didn’t have to leave!

Absolutely loved the stay

The villa was perfect for our week stay in CR. Myself, my husband and our six year old had a great time at the house. The pool and the daily visits from the coati were the highlights. The pool was even warm enough for me. Our typical day was to head out early to town or the beach and come back in the afternoon to enjoy the house and views! Going up and down the road twice a day was the nost I'd recommend but I think ny husband would have no issue with more trips a day. The house and views were worth the drive. Oscar was very helpful checking us into the property when we arrived after dark. He was also great recommending a restaurant for fish tacos and meeting us after we left an item behind at the villa after check out. We highly recommend and hope to come back again!

Great location

We had an amazing time staying with you! Oscar, our concierge, was exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we booked to the day we left, he was always available to meet our needs, arranging airport transportation, coordinating the delivery and pickup of our rental car at the house, and ensuring everything went smoothly. The property itself is in a fantastic, private location, and we loved seeing all kinds of wildlife roaming the grounds. We’ll definitely be returning for another stay!

Beautiful Villa

What a magical place you have! The villa was everything we had hoped it would be. The view is stunning! The kitchen had everything we needed. We were completely comfortable with having AC's in each bedroom. The air would flow into the living area and keep us cool. We were visited by a coati each day. He was cute, but he will knock over the trash. We also enjoyed seeing some toucans. Oscar, our concierge, was incredibly helpful with making our stay run so smoothly. He was quick to check in with us each day and made sure we had everything we needed. The drive up the hill was rough, but so worth it once we arrived. We had an amazing time and hope to get back here one day! Thank you!

Gorgeous getaway

The home is just like it’s pictured — beautiful, secluded, quiet, scenic. The drive up the mountain to reach it requires 4WD and a concerted focus. But the mountain is easily mastered as long as you don’t take the wrong road back down. Oscar, the property liaison, is phenomenally attentive and willing to help at every turn. The entire trip was a fantastic break, rich in wildlife that’s unique from our US experience.

The property has a beautiful view of the ocean with seclusion from other properties. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay - getting massages at the villa was amazing. Plus we had a personal chef come to a villa to celebrate our anniversary which was phenomenal. Truly a great experience and would definitely recommend it.

Wonderful Home

This is a beautiful, private property with a million dollar view! It was very clean! Everything you need is in the house (dishes, cookware, laundry, iron, hair dryer, detergents, garbage bags, towels, etc.). We loved the outdoor patio and pool! The wildlife is great. Tucan birds came by in the early morning and evening at sunset. There were other small mammals that visited the yard during our stay as well. We were close to lots of waterfalls, the mangrove monkey boat tour was great, the Costa Rican spheres were very cool, great dining options in Dominical and at Scala and Jolly Roger (closest to the house). Awesome views of the Whale's Tail from the home. We didn't want to leave! ❤️

Heaven on earth

We stayed at this property for 5 weeks! My heart ached a little when it was time to go home. The comments about needing a 4 wheel drive are accurate. Oscar, the best concierge in the world, helped me with renting a vehicle since I could not find whether the rental vehicles were 4 wheel drive on the websites. From the time I secured this house rental one year earlier, Oscar was always helpful, friendly and immediately responsive whenever I communicated with him. It was wonderful being greated every morning by yellow throated toucans and pendulum birds...more often than not a coatimunda strolling through the yard. Grunts from howler monkeys could be heard every morning and evening, though we never saw on the mountain. We did however, see capuchin monkeys 3 times...and lots of tropical birds and butterflys 🦋. Mostly I was charmed by Lizzie, a Jesus lizard (common basilisk). She likes hanging by the edge of the infinity pool and having the water wash over her feet. She is not real shy and I could be in the pool a foot away and she would just look a me curiously when I talked to her. The house....just lovely! There weren't any spices or condiments left by previous renters so if you're going to stay a while, you might want to bring you're favorite spices in a ziplock. Spices are pretty inexpensive though. Also, I would recommend bringing a few extra face cloths...one face cloth, bath towel and hand towel for each of 4 people, plus a pool towel. ❤

Beautiful!

The house was everything shown in the pictures. Takes about 20 minutes of 4x4 1st & 2nd gear driving to reach the house from the main road, but that's definitely part of the adventure that gets you the spectacular views from the house. Scala and Bar Jolly Roger are great food options closest to the house. Can't say enough good things about the house and its private lot. We enjoyed seeing toucans morning and evening each day. The cody was cool to see as well, but it will definitely go after the trashcan after you put the first bag in it - so keep the bungies tight. We hope to return to this house in the future!

Beautiful villa, stunning view

As noted by many, the drive up to the property is an adventure. But it's definitely worth it. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The views are amazing. We were visited by toucans and other birds as we lounged by the infinity pool. We had a very relaxing stay and were sorry when it was over. Oscar was super helpful. Highly recommended!

The property is exactly as described, and our property manager Oscar was very responsive and wonderful. The only problem we had was the off-roading feeling we had reach time we got out to explore other places, roads to the property are bad. Rest the views, the property itself were worth it.

You can rent a piece of paradise!

This property is absolutely perfect. I usually try to add some constructive criticism but with this home I am 100% happy. We were just two and the place was perfectly sized, even with two more it would work well. We spent most of time time outside gazing at the magnificent view and I suspect you would too. The house is stocked with essentials and very, very comfortable. A highlight was being greeted within minutes of our arrival by a flock of Toucans that visited regularly each morning. You need a 4x4. Fact! Enjoy
