Communication with Chris was easy and fast. We really enjoyed the view from the house - great ocean views by day and ocean/mountain breeze at night. We enjoyed seeing the scarlet macaws, toucans, and green parrots that frequent the property and the nearby tree canopy. The house had what we needed for a comfortable stay and relaxing time. The pool was large enough for our entire family of six to enjoy. Short drive to local activities, restaurants, and grocery stores. Very safe, comfortable, and quiet neighborhood. Thanks for a great stay that we will remember for years to come!

We had such a wonderful stay here! The ocean views were absolutely stunning — we could sit out and just take it all in for hours. We also loved how much wildlife we got to see right from the property, from colorful Scarlett McCaw , toucans and morning wake up calls with howler monkeys. The location really made us feel close to nature. On top of that, the customer service was excellent. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly for us. Overall, it was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway in Costa Rica, and we’d definitely love to come back.

Beautiful, comfortable house with an amazing view. My family stayed here with 3 kids ages 2 to 5 in August 2025. We had a great experience and will definitely stay again. We arranged a private chef dinner one night and also used a pre-prepared food service, which the owners connected us to -- this was also so great! The road up to the house is steep at the end, but good with cement tracks (and a 4x4) and well maintained. The wifi was great and worked well for Zoom calls. Greg and Chris provided us with spot on recommendations for the area. Thank you! We are looking forward to returning in the future.

Perfect Family Vacation

My family and I loved this place. Chris and Greg are great hosts. Greg met us to take us to the property and showed us everything at the house. I stayed with my wife and 3 daughters, ages 1 through 9 and they had a blast. Loved the pool and we saw a lot of birds, macaws, toucans, etc. we also saw and heard the monkeys. We didn’t stay there the whole time because we like adventures, but you could easily stay there the entire time. The views of this place literally made our trip. We went during rain season and the last night we were able to see the sunset. I have seen some great sunsets, but this one was the best of the best.I recommend this villa to anyone, even if you are coming with small children.We truly loved it. Thanks Chris and Greg!

Most breathtaking views in Costa Rica

This was a luxury stay from start to finish. The house has a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean overlooking its giant infinity pool (great for laps). You can see from Jaco beach all the way to Panama. The night sky is full of stars with zero light or sound pollution. You will sleep like a baby. The home has filtered water so you can drink from the tap or the ice maker. And the kitchen is fit for the most discriminating chefs and foodies. We didn’t leave the property for the full week. Thank you for such a fun and luxurious stay!

Great location Beautiful house

This is a very beautiful house overlooking the bay. Large infinity pool, BBQ, good wifi, clean and modern kitchen, comfortable beds. All around a great stay. The host is good with communication and explaining the ins and outs of getting situated comfortably.

Jaw-dropping ocean views & wildlife!

AMAZING ocean views from this hillside spot! Got lucky finding this gem! Clean and comfy inside, but let's be real - you'll spend most of your time on the pool deck. Saw toucans, parrots and monkeys all right from the couches- so cool. Friendly host went above and beyond to make it a special stay. Planning our next trip out already

Jungle Paradise

Cozy wonderful home situated in a picturesque part of Ballena. Waking up to howler monkeys, toucans, and other colorful creatures is incredible. House came well equipped with provisions. Gregory was incredibly helpful during our trip and made checkin very easy. We would recommend staying in this home. Only suggestion is to add additional lighting/lamps in the living room. We loved Costa Rica and we would stay here again!

Fantastic Rental

The view from the pool is unforgettable.. just lovely to sit outside and watch the sun set. We saw so many birds. The home is clean well maintained and comfortable. The owner/managers are honest professional and responsive. We absolutely loved our time at this place.

Epic Pacific Ocean Vews

My wife and I stayed at Chris’s place for almost a month and it was every bit as good as the reviews make it out to be. The view from the villa is absolutely incredible. Communication with the owner was always extremely prompt and helpful. Chris even helped us out when we had a flat tire. The villa is extremely tranquil and private. The internet works excellent. And if the power goes off he has a back up generator. Not to mention a water filtration system on the entire house. Would highly recommend!

Heaven on earth

The photos don’t do it justice. The house is very modern and well decorated. The views are amazing. The pool and hot tub worked great, and the kitchen had everything we needed in order to cook. We ended up not leaving at all during our stay there. Chris was an amazing host as well. He was always available for us for whatever we needed. Hope to come back in the future! Thanks for everything!

Amazing house with best views near Uvita!

Our family of four from Texas stayed in this gorgeous house for a total of four nights. We met Alberto in town and he graciously took us up to the house to give us the rundown on all of the features and amenities that Chris has provided with his property for his Guests. The views of the beach from the mountain were outstanding. We will highly recommend this to anybody and hope to make it back soon. Pura Vida!!

Chris is the best host. Sent lots of info. Always answered any correspondence quickly. Very nice and comfortable house. Views were unbelievable. Had visits from many birds. Very definitely a 4 wheel drive up the mountain but you do get used to it.

You need to rent this house!!

Our stay was nothing short or spectacular. Communication with Chris was prompt & informative before our arrival. He met us at a restaurant near the house so we could follow him. He explained any details he thought would help make our stay more enjoyable. DON'T let any previous review about the road dissuade you from renting this house. You need a 4WD with good clearance. Our Suzuki Jimny was perfect. It had been 30 years since I drove a car in 4WD, and I had no problems. After the first time up and down the mountain & getting used to it, we even drove down to dinner three evenings. One of those evenings it was raining. Don’t worry about the road…it’s fine. One day a tayra crossed the road in front of us. The drive up or down the road is less than 10 minutes. The view is absolutely stunning…from everywhere. From the pool, the hot tub, both bedrooms, and the master shower. Omg...the shower. I don’t have the words. One of our five days, we never even left the property. We opened the back door panels during the day and slept with the bedroom doors open & screens closed. We never turned the AC. The house has the finest high end appliances, along with very nice dishes, glassware, utensils, etc. Anything you would need to cook any kind of meal. We saw scarlet macaws, toucans, monkeys. A coati walked in front of the pool, around the corner, and looked into the shower! Give yourself and loved ones a trip you’ll talk about for years to come. Rent this house!

Absolutely amazing!!!!

This was our second journey to Costa Rica!! This house was perfect and convenient to all the activities that we were interested in! A4x4 is a must and make sure you take Chris up on showing you the way the first time! While the drive up is intimidating… you will be breathless over the views..monkeys and toucans on the way up and down!!! Whales take can be seen from the pool at low tide and the sunsets are pure heaven sent!!! Costa Rica does have power outages but no worries just open up the house and keep going!!! We did day trips and made sure to enjoy the afternoons at the pool!! There are state of the art Wolf appliances and a massive refrigerator!!! Everything you need is there!! That infinity pool is to die for! With seating ledges !! The rain shower and hot tub are amazing!! There is something dreamy about those views from the shower!!! We visited most of the restaurants recommended in the tip book there!! Rancho Ceilo Alto is a one of a kind experience!!! Chris was very responsive and we felt right at home!! The home is very well maintained and spotless!! This will be our stay when we go back!!! Be sure to do ATV rides…beaches are so close and the waterfalls are amazing!!Chris made sure we had everything we needed including recommendations!!! You will not be disappointed!! If you come and don’t enjoy… Costa Rica just isn’t for you!!! This place is right out of a magazine!!! Thanks Chris!!

Small Paradise

Loved our stay at this little piece of paradise. Place is at it shows in the pictures and even more magical with bird and wild life sounds. Size was perfect for 2 couples + a little kid. Easy to maintain during our stay. Loved the special touches throughout the property, including freshly cut flowers at the entrance and inside the house. Kitchen is well appointed with quality equipment and knives. Only thing missing is a small espresso machine. The view never gets old! It rained hard during two of the days there and it just added a new level of magic, rainbow and all. We still went swimming in the rain! We were lucky to have a full moon during our stay, absolutely mesmerizing. The stars were equally beautiful! On the first night that we were there, we woke up in the late hours of the night to find the brightest stars that I have ever seen! Twinkling so bright that it made me realize why so many songs have been written about it. Chris was absolutely amazing. Very helpful during our planning period l, and throughout the stay. He helped with every detail to make our stay even more enjoyable, as well as recommendations on getting there, grocery delivery services, etc.. Highly recommend getting massages… The only real negative is the drive up to the property. It is steep! Scary the first few times driving up. You do get used to it, though.

Quelle vue magnifique!

Très belle maison, avec larges fenêtres donnant sur la mer. Très bien divisée: aires ouvertes au centre, chambre des maîtres et salle de bain d’un côté, 2e chambre de l’autre côté de l’aire ouverte, avec sa salle de bain. Portes patio avec moustiquaires dans les 2 chambres, donnant sur la piscine. Air climatisé dans les 2 chambres, ce qui était fort utile lors de notre passage, alors que le temps était chaud et très humide. La piscine est fantastique. Elle longe toute la maison et offre la possibilité de nager sur plusieurs mètres, tout en admirant la vue qui est toujours magnifique, peu importe l’heure de la journée. La maison a tout ce qu’il faut en terme de petits équipements. Le mobilier des chambres est très bien et les matelas sont très confortables. Pour le bonheur total des invités, le mobilier extérieur pourrait être légèrement améliorée, notamment avec une plus grande table et un parasol adapté aux conditions dans ce secteur. Nous avons passé 10 jours dans cette maison. Nous nous sommes rapidement habitués au fort dénivelé de la route de plus de 2 KM qui conduit à la maison. Par endroit, notre Toyota RAV4 de l’année adoptait une allure très lente, mais ça se fait! Ah oui…. Tout autour, il y a les toucans et autres espèces d’oiseaux. Et, certains matins , les singes hurleurs sont tout près. C’est surprenant le premier matin mais, on s’attache à ces petites bêtes!
