We felt right at home as soon as we walked into the house. Everything was as it stated in the description. The house was clean, had a well-appointed kitchen, and the view out to the ocean upstairs was what we needed as we ate our meals on the porch. I loved that it was an easy walk on those traditional Bald Head boardwalks out to the ocean. We will absolutely come here again.

Fall trip

The house was located near the beach.The bedrooms were very comfortable. Some of the art was very nice. The balcony and screened porch were a plus. While cozy, the living room could use a refresh.

Love the Balvenie and Bald Head

Definitely put this cottage high on your list. Great location, wonderful cottage, everything you need to enjoy the beauty of Bald Head Island. Wish I could have stayed longer! p.s. we own 2 Scottish Highland "coos", so the Scotch Whiskey name reference was a plus :)

Cottage close to beach access

Love the reverse floor plan. You can see the ocean from the back deck. A great layout on the second floor. Seems to have been updated in the past 5 years. Clean and great communication with the property management company.

House is in a great location on the island. The house fit the four of us well.

We’ve have been to BHI many times over the last 10 years. The house is in good shape and great location, but it does need a good deep cleaning and the couch cushions need replaced. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.

Perfect location

Balvenie is in a great location just a short walk to the beach. From the upper deck you can see and hear the ocean (and catch a great sunset). Even when the sun is fully out, the upper deck keeps such a great breeze that it’s still possible to enjoy meals out there. We also enjoyed the shady breeze on the lower screened porch. The house was very clean exactly as pictured.

Short walk to the beach

Clean, comfortable and well equipped. We cooked all meals and were pleased with everything available. we enjoyed the sunsets from the second floor balcony and relaxing in the hammock on the screened in porch!

Highly recommend!

My wife and I loved this house. We will definitely be back. The location is perfect and house was very clean. We loved the screened-in porch with hammock. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you'll need and there was plenty of room upstairs and downstairs to relax. We had one minor issue with the cart, but the issue was quickly resolved by the rental group. We highly recommend this property.

Lovely home, great location

We only stayed the weekend but I would have loved to have stayed longer. The house was great, everything was well cared for and clean. Very short walk to the beach and a short drive to the shops. I would definitely stay here again.

We'll be back every summer from now on!

Balvenie exceeded all our expectations. The location, views, privacy and quality of amenities were perfect for us. The property was a great backdrop to the entire vacation and made a significant impact on our overall experience. It would not have been near as good of a vacation without Balvenie. The grill, golf cart, beach chairs, bedrooms, bathrooms, furniture and kitchen tools were all in exceptional shape. We go to Bald head at the end of every summer and we have resolved to return to Balvenie every time from now on. I miss Balvenie right now!

Great stay on BHI

Charming house in a great location...only issue was a bathroom under construction of which even the property manager wasn't aware. Minor impact, otherwise everything was great.

Alarm issues

The fire alarm kept going off and fire and 1st responders had to come twice, and NO fire or reason for fire was found. Had to get fire department to disable the whole system to get it to stop. Spent over an hour of prime sun time dealing with this. Information said no beach towels, and we loaded 6 beach towels which was a whole suitcase full, and there were beach towels at the house. info said 2 baths and there were 3. Furnishings were ALL soiled and needed replacement or at least cleaning. Cute cottage, and sleeps 2 couples fine.
