Very nice and clean

We had a wonderful time on the island and the house was beautiful. It could use a little work on the outside of the house but the inside was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

It’s a great location your in the middle so convenient area for all the things to do. House was spacious and met our needs. Having the golf carts was a plus as well. Would stay again.

Great family vacation

We had an amazing week with our two children, their spouses and our 4 children ages 10 to 18. The house has a very nice living area and was in excellent condition. Beaches were very accessible and the store and shops were close to the house. Highly recommend this rental.

Great location for families and a pet.

This owner is super responsive to our every request. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a large porch for all to enjoy. Nice golf carts as well. Large screen tv is a nice bonus too. Thank you.

Visit

The only two things we didn't like were the tv's in the master bedroom didn't work and the internet was very slow and spotty. Overall loved the house, swings, porches and location!

Family get away

Location and house great. Plenty of space for family. Appreciate Dominic’s accessibility and response time. Small issue with golf cart, but think it was prior guests not properly charging. Couldn’t use any of the bikes, but easily rented some. Would stay here again.

Owner was very responsive with questions and information. Having never been to BHI I called a few times before our trip and he was very helpful. The house was awesome and provided plenty of space and seating for our family of 7. The kitchen is well equipped for us to cook meals at home. We loved sitting on the front porch and all of the foliage around us! The golf carts worked perfectly. We took a few bike rides but a couple of the bikes could use some maintenance work. Dominic had warned me that by the end of the season he is not always aware of the condition of bicycles. Check in was super easy.

Decent House

Photos are dated - upkeep of the house exterior living spaces is not in line with photos. The exterior requires cleaning to be able to utilize the spaces. Interior was nice and as expected. House has the basics but lacks some of the items that are normal to most houses in Bald Head. A refresh would be helpful.

Trip #12

The biggest issue was the golf carts. One was deemed unsafe to drive by public safety. Neither had updated stickers which were paid for but we had to go get. The homeowner did replace the unsafe cart but not before we had rented a cart and we had to go and get the cart which we were happy to do. The outdoors definitely needed some repairs but inside everything worked. The beds could use new mattresses. There was a spacious pantry which was nice. It was nice to have a screened in deck and another deck not screened in. Bikes were decent.

Family Summer Vacation

Rental process was easy. Rental was satisfactory. Spacious for 6 adults & 2 kids. Pictures must have been taken awhile ago, Rental was in need of some TLC.

The Palms Getaway

The property was fine. The previous renters did not adhere to rules and the cleaning crew seemed to have missed several things. Those issues aside, I would recommend this property.

The perfect getaway house

This house was perfect for our girls weekend. A bunch of sleeping options, large eating space and living room space. The wrap around porch was perfect for for early morning coffee or sunset happy hour. The golf carts were great and the location was very central to everything. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent place to stay!

The weather was not desirable but the location and the house was perfect. Lots of amenities kept us busy and comfortable . Would be excellent for families or group of singles. The owner was very accommodating.

Great family place

The Palms was a great place to stay. Close to Maritime Market. Beautiful and relaxing front porch swing and hammock. Rooms were comfortable. Giving a 4 star instead of 5 as one of the golf carts may need some maintenance.

Mother's Day Getaway

We stayed at the Palms with friends & family over Mother's Day weekend and had the most amazing time! Not wildly advertised, but the house came with a guest membership to the Shoals Club, which was absolutely perfect! I'd book this specific house again over & over again.

Lovely home

We had a terrific Thanksgiving week at this property. The house had all of the tools we needed to make too much food, the bikes in the garage were in great condition, and the home had everything we could have needed. Add in perfect weather and we had an amazing stay here!

The Palms During Covid

Bald Head Island was the perfect place for my out of state family and my husband and me to have amazing family time. Due to Covid, the Island is much more crowded than usual during the fall season, yet The Palms offered us great seclusion. We felt safe and shopped at the market during Senior Hours and got takeout a few times but were able to be very safe and by ourselves the rest of the time. The ONLY issue we had was that although they require masks for all folks riding the ferry and all folks working at the Marinas where you catch the ferries, the baggage handlers were NOT wearing masks and they were super talkative and even though they are outside--this made us very uncomfortable. They also crammed us into a tram with another family when we arrived at the Island---and even though that family wore masks, we did not like being in such close proximity. The good thing about The Palms property is the owner was super responsive---every single question I had was answered almost immediately and he seemed super pleasant. The house is a well built house with an amazing layout that allowed for lots of spaces for folks to find a private nook to read etc. We enjoyed the front porch and the screened in porch a lot and the master bedroom was super quiet and private. They have the most comfortable couch we have ever used! Our whole family could sit and watch TV! Unfortunately at the end of the season The Palms was desperately in need of some TLC. It needs some serious detail attention. The outside areas desperately need power washing and the kitchen was a disaster---organizationally speaking. It was obvious a cleaning crew had been coming in and hitting the high spots but the house needs a DEEP cleaning. There was dust and filth in the corners and under the beds and on corner tables and the screened in porch was filthy. We spent several hours cleaning that area to make it ready to eat out there. I know the owner probably would have responded and sent some cleaning folks over if I had told him, but we simply did not feel safe having cleaning folks come in while we were there as a few of us are high risk so we took care of it ourselves. Many folks would not even have noticed---lol---but I guess we are just particular. Even so---we had a great time and I would probably stay at The Palms again! I would just insist on EXTRA cleaning and maybe go earlier in the season when hopefully things would be a bit fresher.

BHI Perfection

We come to Bald Head quite often and this home exceeded our expectations. The floor plan is incredibly conducive to having privacy with a downstairs bathroom and bedroom that can be completely closed off. The screened porch with large dining table is a complete dream with fun bulb lights. This house is quiet, peaceful perfection and a comfy couch too! Thanks for an awesome stay.
