Didn't Want to Leave!

It was wonderful. The house is set on a ridge with a fabulous view of Mt. Mitchell. The interior is lovely and filled with pieces created by local artists. All of the furniture--beds, sofas, etc.--are handsome and very comfortable (even for people with "grumpy" backs). Kitchen and bathrooms are very well stocked with just about everything you might need. I give this property an A+++ and we are picky!

A work of art

We've traveled to North Carolina for many years to take a nice summer break. This is the best place we've found! An immaculate house with an incredible view. The artwork and unique architecture set this place apart. Lisa (the hostess) was super responsive and helpful. This was a trip we will always remember!!!

Great views at updated cabin

Great stay at this updated cabin with lovely Mountain views. Lisa was very responsive to all our questions , check in/out was very easy. We saw a family of deer in the yard every evening. Spent an afternoon visiting the historic Penland School of Crafts right down the road from home. Had a lovely trip and will be delighted to stay at this home again on our next trip!

Relaxing Getaway

This review is for the sister property Doug's Way. Well maintained cabin with an artistic side, and beautiful views. Plenty of amenities and very organized for a comfortable stay. Communication with Lisa was excellent and she provided lots of helpful information for the stay.

Beautiful View

We loved our stay near Penland School of Craft. The property was easy to check into, had a comfortable open floor plan, and an incredible long range Mountain View. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Lisa also had a packnplay for my 1.5 year old son which was nice. The landscaping is gorgeous, and we were able to pick fresh blueberries, blackberries and mint right in the property. I hope to come back soon!

Art Gallery Vibes with Heavenly Views

My daughter took a week long summer camp at Penland Craft School so we decided to make a vacation out of it and stay nearby with the grandparents. The location of the rental was perfect being just 10 minutes from the Penland campus. The house itself was beautiful, surrounded by trees and flowers and humming birds and bunnies, with stunning views from every room. The layout is perfect for two couples and one child/teen with two primary suites, one which has a pull out sofa. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided, the beds were comfortable, there were games, books, and beautiful pottery and art everywhere. Bring groceries because the remote location is not close to many shopping or dining options, but it's worth the peace and quiet.

Beautiful Views

The views are exactly as described! The house is well equipped and laid out for 2 couples. My parents who are avid birders loved walking along the dirt road with their binoculars. It is also ideally situated for the Blue Ridge Parkway, Penland is down the road, and other walks are nearby. Highly Recommended!

Beautiful Mountain View

Beautiful views of the mountains everywhere in and on the property. Bed was very comfortable and the property is very secluded and private. The only issue I had was when I turned on the bathroom heater it made a pop sound and didn’t come on. I texted Lisa to tell her this in case of a possible electrical danger and never heard back from her

Splendid in every way

The Conley House itself is a work of art. The place was not only beautiful on the inside, but on the outside as well. Gorgeous views from every room, glorious sunrise and sunsets, and fully functioning as a home away from home. My husband and two of my favorite cousins enjoyed every moment! We will return!

This is a lovely home in a perfect spot of you are looking for fantastic views, privacy and to immerse yourself in mountain life. Lisa, the owner was wonderful to work with, and very kind when my family had to leave early due to a family emergency. You won’t be disappointed in this rental!

What a relaxing escape to the mountains!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-day visit to the mountains of Western NC, made all the more special by staying at this beautiful home. The home itself was even more lovely than the photos, and we noticed right away the local pottery and crafts throughout the rooms. The kitchen was well appointed, the bedroom and bath nicely stocked, and the living room very comfortable, with electronic systems that were easy to use. We enjoyed taking in the tranquility of the mountain view from the patio each morning, and the entire property was beautifully maintained, peaceful and serene! Our host, Lisa, was so helpful, from the time of booking to the end of our stay. She provided a wonderful brochure of local attractions, which we used daily - from our visit to a Penland artist studio, to a hike to view the amazing Linville Falls, and finally for our visit to a few art galleries in Bakersville. We met the nicest people along the way, and plan to visit these mountains again soon. We highly recommend this lovely home and Lisa as an excellent host for a wonderful stay in the mountains!
