Cute cozy cabin for a couple

This is a very serene location. It's a cute, kitschy cottage right on the water with a private backyard and area to grill. Only a sweet, short walk to the Canal Island lighthouse and a quiet road to bike on for miles. The only criticism, and definitely not a deal breaker-still 5 stars- the beds. They are all pull-out couch beds and are not super comfortable. Overall a gem of a weekend in a nice-priced stay with a beautiful view.

Great little cabin!

It was really nice to get away! I wish we had beds instead of pull out couches, but other than that, it was great!

Million Dollar Location

Clean and cozy home with a million dollar view of gorgeous sunrises and the Cana Island lighthouse. You can fall asleep with the waves coming ashore. This was our seventh stay here. It’s a perfect place to relax and unwind.

Peaceful Getaway

Our sixth time staying at this lovely home. You don’t miss TV, phones and internet when you can hear the seagulls and fall asleep to the sound of the waves! Wake up to spectacular sun rises. Perfect location close to everything Door County has to offer!

Serene and Suboptimal

Gorgeous location, very private, reasonably priced and well stocked with kitchen equipment for making meals.In my opinion, a must have for any vacation rental is comfortable accommodations for sleeping and relaxing. This place had none. Three very worn out sleeper sofas coupled with thrift-store quality chairs was not adequate. We could not sleep or relax in any of the furniture and we tried them all.

Quiet relaxation

This was our third stay, the first for just my husband and I. We are both retired now and love Shalom Stone. I secured our reservation late and took the only block of four or more days remaining available. My fault for spreading the word of this idealic retreat💓

Loved it

It was my fault for not reading info before getting there. W/o phone , TV, computer it was so peaceful. Lake Michigan gave us a great display of her beautiful and power.

Sweet No Fuss Cottage

We love this quiet no fuss Cottage on the more wild shore of Lake Michigan. If you’re a high maintenance type this place may not be the best for you. A huge storm came in one night while we were there. We sat up on the second floor and watched the lightening light up the wild sea scape before us. The other nights we watched the full moon rise. Hope that this cottage never gets updated . It’s a perfect little humble Daisy of a cottage❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Incredible location. Mediocre accommodations.

The location of this property was amazing. Absolutely magical. The views, the sounds, the wild flowers. It was just incredible. The house itself is TINY. No actual beds, just pullout couches. The kitchen was well stocked which was nice as we cooked all meals in. It was clean, however could have been de-webbed before we arrived. Having to bring our own towels and bedding was pretty inconvenient. It would be nice to have those items provided. Worst of all was the garbage situation. No garbage service is provided so we were supposed to take our trash home with us… 3 days of cooking meals in, and baby diapers on a 5 hour car ride? In addition to a laundry basket of our wet towels that we brought ourselves? Ridiculous. Also a binder with info on the rental and nearby attractions would have been helpful. Most places we have stayed in offer this and it’s really useful to have all that in one place instead of having to figure things out ourselves (like how the fold out couches have inflatable mattresses inside. Didn’t notice that until we were packing up to leave with aching backs.) Those little touches are what make or break a place. It felt like a lot of stuff in this rental were an afterthought or it was just kind of thrown together as a side money maker, rather than an effort to make it a relaxing get away for guests. Our carpenter friend who joined us wasn’t able to relax looking at the deck that needed repairing and the trim that needed to be put back up. Little details. Overall, it was clean, and the location was so just so beautiful that I hated to leave, for the price of the stay though, the place could use some TLC at the very least.

Bring your own everything!!!

Lovely home! I should have been notified earlier than the day before that I had to bring my own towels and linens and the size of the beds! The turn on valve for the well we were told was behind the panel in the back room! We did not know it was in an outside room with an outside entrance! I have always stayed at hotels, airbnbs and soap and shampoo and towels and linens have always been supplied! I was on vacation and had to rush out to get everything!!

Perfect Getaway Spot!

Our fifth time staying at this lovely home. It has everything you could ask for including a lakefront view and the relaxing sounds of the waves coming ashore. Ideal spot to get away from a stressful life.

Our fourth stay at this lovely cottage. Very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a delightful stay. You don't miss the TV, Wifi, and phone service because you are mesmerized by the waves crashing in on the shore!
