I would highly recommend the L'Ombre for anyone traveling and wanting more of a residential stay in Avignon. I was supposed to be staying in a hostel that ended up being so gross and disgusting I looked for a new place the same night I checked in. L'Ombre made my time in Avignon

Belle suite près du palais...

Tres bon et très confortable séjour à l'ombre du palais pour le festival d'Avignon...a deux pas de notre théâtre préféré... a deux pas de tout en fait... la suite était super spacieuse avec tout ce qu'il fallait... la terrasse pour le café du matin et l'apéro du soir ont été les crises du gâteau...

Grande terrasse commune sur le toit, communication facile via whatsapp, quartier calme mais près de tout, super lits... je regrette juste que le parking ne soit pas à côté.

Property was in a great location. Reported non functioning coffee machine in room and nothing was done about it. Electrics and wifi were hit and miss due to adapters being used in other rooms. Hook for shower head was broken as were the towel hook beside the bath. Would probably look elsewhere next time

I liked everything about this place ! At first, I was worried about finding this place from the station, but it was not hard at all ! Easy walk ! Very cozy apartment and the owner is very very nice and accommodating too. The common kitchen area is very nice. Oh, and the terrace, it was beautiful and peaceful ! I was able to see the Pope’s Palace from there and hear the birds singing all the time. This was my first time to stay in a apartment-style hotel, and this one truly met my expectations. I would love to go back to Avignon some day and I would definitely stay here again. Merci pour tous

Well it was great because you had your own apartment, however for 2 nights we had no electricity and hot water. That was a bummer. Location is in the heart of Avignon which was great. The owner was extremely attentive but no refund for the major inconvenience was noted. It was also stated in the room a free bottle of wine upon arrival which wasn’t in the room and I had to seek out for it. Would I stay again, yes but not pay that much. Cold shower and no AC HURT

We were offered an upgrade to stay on the second floor which is the third floor if you are an American. Beware if you have large suitcases, as there are no elevators. We had to practically empty our suitcase to get the contents up the stairs. There is a washing machine/dryer combo in the community kitchen, but it takes hours to wash and dry your clothes. Don't plan on doing much laundry. We did enjoy the spaciousness of the apartment once we got settled. The location was quite convenient if you are a walker. With the limitation I described, I think it was a good value for the price, especially since we could prepare/reheat some meals in our own apartment.

We checked in at very late hours and discovered that there no light at the kitchen and the bathroom. We called to property manager and he immediately relocated us to the different apartment. The new apartment was on third floor with access to the terrace

We were NOT happy with the overall experience at the property. The main reason for this is the less than satisfactory state of the bathroom and a few other things. We will NOT be visiting this property again 1.⁠ ⁠The shower curtain was dirty, there was grime and dirt and I guess scum growth at the bottom of the curtains. you should replace the shower curtains as soon as possible 2.⁠ ⁠The detachable shower head was wobbly and the hand-held shower kept dropping as soon as water flowed from it—you need to tighten the shower handles 3.⁠ ⁠The soap in the shower was new but the cap was not open so when we checked in and were tired and wanted a shower, we could not get that to work right away 4.⁠ ⁠The design of the sink near the toilet is BAD because any time the sink is used the water will absolutely spill onto the floor making it a hazardous situation 5.⁠ ⁠The coffee maker and the Tea Kettle (water boiler) were placed on a table with no nearby power outlets—i had to move the coffee maker to another table closer to a power outlet—why should a coffee maker or a tea maker be placed on a table with no access to power outlet??? 6.⁠ ⁠It is a good idea to keep some tea bags and maybe some coffee pods in the room —guests can always go to the common kitchen if they need more coffee pods or tea bags but not having any in the room is a bad decision!.⁠
