Short walk for a great view

Great Location in beautiful Avalon

Our three-generation family had a great vacation at this condo. It's conveniently located along Clemente Ave, but several flights up, so it has an outstanding view of Avalon and the harbor. With two master bedrooms, it was a perfect condo for two pairs of adults with children. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking in and for reheating leftovers. (We bought a prepared holiday meal from Vons and heated it up for our Thanksgiving dinner). The condo is on the 3rd floor of the Bahia Vista complex, and requires climbing several sets of steps to access the elevator. Once in the condo, there are several sets of steps to the bathroom and bedrooms. So, individuals with mobility problems may want to stay elsewhere. But for us, it was the perfect vacation condo in the perfect location.

Great Stay

This place is wonderful. Great views, quiet and only a couple blocks to town. The blocks in catalina are very short so is no big deal. I liked that it was close to some great hiking trails. Excellent communication with new owners. Def recommend!

Lots a stairs just to get to the elevator. It was difficult for my eldest sister who uses a Walker, and to get suitcases and coolers up to the unit. Even had to use stairs to use the bathroom. Not recommended for those with mobility issues.

Spacious remodeled condo

Lotsa space for 3 couples and a toddler. Large bedrooms with 3 full baths! Clean and remodeled, which is hard to find in Avalon beach cottages. Great to have a nice new washer/dryer for the beach towels we brought. We brought a cart to haul our stuff to the beach— but they did have a grocery cart in a closet. Even with elevator, lotsa steps but the listing is clear on that and we enjoyed the exercise. Quiet at night since it was up so many flights and not on noisy streets with golf carts. Highly Recommend!

Has AC, kind of

The property is quite nice. It has a beautiful view of the harbor from the balconies and is completely updated. Our only gripe was the AC. The AC’s are ceiling-mounted with individual units in the family room, the upstairs hallways, and 1 of the master bedrooms. That means that the 2 other bedrooms do not have AC. We opened the sliding doors in those bedrooms and turned on the provided floor fans, but it was still hot enough to wake up sweating in the middle of the night. Also, you cannot control the thermostat to the ACs, it has to be done remotely by the owner, so if you’re a person who likes the thermostat set below 72 to sleep, this probably isn’t the right rental for you.

The property, its location, ease of checkin, was all amazing and accurate per the descriptions. Beautiful view of the town and ocean, easy walking distance to everything, immaculate and comfortable apartment ...couldn't have been happier.

Pleasant Stay

Perfect for our family of 2 couples (with king ensuite for each) and a 3rd bedroom w/queen & full bath for the 2 kids. Very nice interior design, well-appointed and terrific view. Thank you Karin for hosting us during this quick getaway!

Birthday celebration

We had a lovely time at this beautiful condo. The 3 bedroom/ 3 bath was perfect for our family to be together but not on top of each other. Loved the view from the balcony. What a great location. So close to everything. Karin, the property contact, was very responsive to all of our questions. The only thing that I didn't know about was all of the stairs. Even with an elevator there are still several stairs. I may have missed this in the listing so could be my fault but it was hard on our daughter's knees. Other than that, everything was perfect and we would definitely return again.

Family celebration

Excellent host! Great communication and quick response if there were questions. Like others have said..beautiful views, fully stocked kitchen, comfy beds, easy to walk everywhere. Really liked the pillows. This was a family trip with adult kids to see my Cali-based daughter. We loved the balconies overlooking Avalon and the harbor whether it was morning coffee or evening wine.

Amazing condo, short walk to all amenities including, shops, port and beachside

Karin was amazing, she responded immediately to any enquiries and provided excellent info about Catalina - the home was perfect for our family, with breathtaking views. We had a memorable family reunion at an enchanting island and vow to return one day :)

Can't wait to come back

This was my first visit to Catalina and the location of the property was perfect. We spent a lot of our time walking around the waterfront and through the neighborhoods. The balcony view toward the harbor is fantastic, and the condo was very comfy. We had everything we could need for our stay, and even though we didn't do much cooking, we were pleased to find a complete kitchen, with spices, oils, and other necessities. We originally planned for 6 travelers, but ended up with only 4, so both of the bedrooms with attached bathrooms were perfect. While we found some of the residential areas near the harbor a bit noisy, this condo was peaceful and the neighborhood felt very safe.

Clean, convenient, and well furnished home

We very much enjoyed our four day stay at this property. It felt like a home away from home. The location was convenient to walk from the ferry point and into town, the beds were comfortable and cozy, and we love the three bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped. The smart tv functionality was super helpful when we wanted to hide out from the rain, and there were even umbrellas! Overall, one of the best stays at VRBO! Thank you!

Avalon Adventure

Property was an easy walk from the ferry and downtown Avalon. The property was perfect for our needs and the balcony had a great view of Avalon and harbor. Owner provided a lot of good info about restaurants and activities.

The condo was just as pictured! Unfortunately, only two of us were able to make the trip, but it would have been perfect for all our guests. The view was my favorite part of the our stay. Everything was within a short walk. Loved our stay!

Wonderful location for Girls Trip!

Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Catalina! The condo was well stocked in both kitchen and bathrooms. The location was quiet - and had a great view of the town and harbor from the deck. We would love to visit again.

Loved our stay

We enjoyed our stay in this property very much! Karin was very accessible and easy to communicate with during the whole process. The condo is very nice. Clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The patio off the living room/kitchen area was wonderful to have coffee on in the mornings and wine in the afternoon. There is a great view of Avalon from there as the condo is near the top. The only advisement I would make is if you have walking problems, there are steps you have to climb to get here. There are elevators but steps in addition. Thank you Karin we very much enjoyed it!

Clean, Welcoming & Great View!!!

I have mixed feelings about writing this review because selfishly I want this home to be available whenever my family wants to use it. It’s absolutely lovely! Everyone in our party is raving and planning the next trip. Owner gave excellent information at all steps of the process. The house was spotless and welcoming. Everyone in our group (19 to 63yrs) raved about their beds, layout, location, etc!! Only suggestion is please provide a fan in master bedroom. The A/C is preset to 73degrees but fresh island air is too tempting so everyone chose to skip AC and sleep with windows and sliders open (completely safe area & condo is on 3rd floor) but main bedroom is next to hillside so not much air circulates through window which made that room a little too warm (74-75 degrees) but I like to sleep in 62 degrees (my son is convinced I raise penguins at night) - Honestly, this was only an issue for me; the other 2 rooms have balconies facing the ocean and my son chose to sleep in living room with sliding door open and all said it was awesome and very comfortable without the AC. Speaking of Ocean- 2 large balconies facing the coastline - need I say more!!! As far as the steps, seeing some reviews with issues about the steps, I was initially concerned because my someone in our party has a bad knee and another one undergoing serious medical treatment. We decided to take a chance because of elevator - so glad we did- no one in our party had any problems whatsoever. If you use the elevator, are no big deal because they’re in sets of 2 to five at a time with plenty of flat surface in between. The back entrance has no elevator and does have steep flights-some of my family used it as exercise- I used the elevator every time and saved my steps for the beach!!! Excellent Location: very close to the port and all flat streets to Condo - took us no more than 10 minutes to get to the condo (do use rolling luggage). We walked everywhere and only rented bikes 1/2 day to explore places that were uphill but you can really get away without spending $ on transportation: 5 minutes to Grocery store, 5-10 minutes to restaurant road and beach. if you can walk 30 minutes comfortably you’ll be able to get to all places in town without renting a golf cart. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful place to stay!

Such a great location and house

Simply Amazing

The property was just as stated and pictured. Our early mornings were spent with coffee on the terrace watching the boats near the beach. Evenings were just as spectacular with the homes aglow on the hillside. It's a short easy walk to the beachfront where all the activity takes place. This place is a gem!
