We picked this mostly for its central location and relatively low price during a holiday week, but I should have reminded myself that you get what you pay for. (My husband came a few days ahead of me and stayed in a pet-friendly high rise condo right on Cesar Chavez, with a gorgeous view, which was in better shape and cheaper than this, though.)Overall it was fine for a few nights but badly needs new baseboards and fresh paint, and a deep clean. Also the remote was missing the volume button so we couldn’t adjust the volume on the TV at all. Otherwise, it was fine and we were glad we could have our dog with us. We did like being in walking distance of restaurants and coffee shops.

I’ll start with the positives. Great location, clean linens, and good space. However, the pictures in the listing do not reflect the current condition of the apartment. It felt tired. Closet and cabinet doors needed repair and many layers of paint are peeling off the walls and baseboards.

We had a quick over night trip. The stay was pleasant and we felt welcomed. The apartment was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was quiet and close to where we needed to be. The owner was very communicative with everything we needed to know, which was helpful.

3 day stay for a grandson’s graduation.

The unit was very clean. It is an older property. The small backyard has overgrown weeds, that needs some work. The bed was very comfortable. However the fitted sheet is not big enough and slipped off We were not able to put it back on around the corners. Loved having coffee in the kitchen and plenty of nice towels. The tub should have a grab bar. It was slippery.

Quick Spring Break

The property was exactly as advertised. This is a small apartment located right off of South Lamar. It is very close to downtown and Zilker park. We were able to go to Barton springs and enjoy the water even if it was a little cold. This is a great spot for anyone looking for a quick, affordable getaway. It is not a big rental built for entertaining, but rather a cozy apartment for easy access to Austin.

Worst VRBO stay ever

This is the worst VRBO experience we have ever had. First of all, I consistently received two emails for every reminder and every check in one from Austin vacay and one from a service manager. This made the check in process difficult because the code sent to me did not work. I called the property manager who answered after the second call and gave me a different number which worked. They apartment in our opinion was not at all how was presented on the website. The furniture and art is different (no big deal). The outside door frame is completely rotted away, the kitchen cabinet and drawers do not close. There is black mold in the air vents. On almost every door inside and out is chipping and peeling paint. They lid on the toilet is broken and clearly glued together. The apartment smells very strongly of odor ban cleaning solution and as it wears off you can smell cigarette smoke. The units around this apartment all have broken blinds and loud barking dogs (I know the property manager can't control the neighbors, but something that would have been nice to know). Both times I contacted the property manager (check in and when we wanted to talk about the property) I had to call twice before he would answer. Needless to say, we left the property and ended up getting a hotel. I called the property owner and explained our concerns, he was not willing to refund any of the money except the cleaning fee, which I still have not had returned to me. Had this been a cheap rental I wouldn't have cared so much but as you can clearly see if you're considering it, it isn't cheap.

Great little place

Great location, worked for a couple

Great location for a getaway for my husband and I. We walked to several restaurants (10 min walk, easy peasy). Short drive to disc golf, Zilker Park, breweries and stores. The bed was not the most comfortable but it worked for a few nights. Neighbors were quiet, no issues at all, felt safe, parking is easy.

A perfect location and cozy home for a weekend in Austin

Overall we enjoyed our one night stay at this property. It was cozy and had everything we needed. When we arrived, it was clear that it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly (hairs in the shower and on our bed sheets) which was a bit uncomfortable during a pandemic. However, we reached out to the property manager and they immediately sent someone out to change the bed linens and reclean the bathroom. Sometimes things happen and cleaners don't always do a good job, but I appreciated the promptness of getting the situation taken care of.
